
3: Use f the BMS GrabBee
D uble click n the ‘GrabBee USB Video Grabber’ ic n at y ur deskt p. N w the
GrabBee pr gram is started.
With Bri htness y u can adjust the brightness f the image.
With Contrast y u can adjust the c ntrast f the image and
with Color y u can adjust the c l urs f the image.
This all ws y u t adjust f r a perfect image quality.
Use of Capture
When y u click n Caputre the vide image fr m GrabBee will be st red n y ur
hard disc. T st p the capture y u can either again click n the Caputre butt n r
y u can press the ESC key.
Use of Snapshot
When y u click n Snapshot a ph t fr m the live feed fr m GrabBee will be st red
n y ur hard disc. Y u will be asked t st re the image n the hard disc.
4: The Ph t Lib s ftware
In rder t st re and pr cess the micr sc pic images fr m a camera and the BMS
GrabBee, the Ph t Lib s ftware can be used. This s ftware displays a live vide
feed which all ws easy f cusing f the micr sc pe while the camera is attached.
The Ph t Lib installati n is placed n the CD-ROM.
Place the installati n CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive and click ‘Start’. Then click
‘Run’ and type the f ll wing:
D:\setup
N w f ll w the instructi ns n the screen, this will start the Ph t Lib s ftware
installati n.
At the end f the Ph t Lib s ftware installati n y u will be pr mpted t install the
camera driver. Click ‘CANCEL’ and the s ftware installati n is n w c mpleted.
T start the s ftware d uble-click n the ‘Ph t Lib’ ic n n the deskt p. The live
vide wind w sh uld appear.
The Snapsh t butt n n the right side (third butt n) can be pressed f r a still image
f the vide feed. This image can then be pr cessed and st red n the c mputer’s
hard disc. T save the image n the hard disc click n ‘file’ in the menu bar n t p f
the screen and click n ‘save’ r ‘save as’.
The image size can be changed by clicking n ‘Vide Setup’ in the menu bar n t p
f the screen and then click n ‘Vide F rmat’.
The Ph t Lib s ftware als all ws f r distance measuring. Using this t l the
Ph t Lib s ftware needs t be calibrated. Y u can calibrate the s ftware by clicking
n ‘Vide Setup’ in the menu bar n t p f the screen. Then g t ‘SetUnit’ and click
‘ResetScaleValue’ and place a number between 2 and 9 in the b x and click n ‘OK’
N w place a ruler n the bject table (Or an bject with a kn wn size) and in the live
vide feed wind w drag with y ur m use (keep left m use butt n pressed) fr m the
start t the end f the ruler (Or the bject with a kn wn size) and release the m use
butt n. The vide wind w will n w display: ‘cx=nn, cy=mm’, with nn and mm digits.
