VIDEO SELECTOR BOX - POWERED
The video selector box is simplistic in operations. The video selector box does require an
120 Volt AC power source to function. When the power requirement is met, the red LED will
be illuminated.
There are three separate control areas of the video selector box. The front television and the
optional storage bay television (if offered), are controlled with the TV VIEWING pushbuttons.
The pushbuttons represent the control source that is desired for use.
• ANT is the Roof Television Antenna which uses the TV or VCR tuner for channel
selection.
• AUX 1 is the SATELLITE RECEIVER (Optional)
• AUX 2 is the DVD. The TV channel selection must be on channel 3.
• CABLE is the Shore Cable coax feed.
• VCR button uses channel 3 on the TV. Channel selection can be made with the VCR Tuner.
NOTE: Everything that plays on the front TV also plays to the bay TV
(Optional) at the same time.
These same pushbuttons are located in the REMOTE TV VIEWING section. These are for
use with the Bedroom television.
The section labeled VCR RECORDING is used to select the program source which will
be recorded with the VCR.
• ANT is the Roof Television Antenna which uses the VCR tuner for channel selection.
• AUX 1 is the SATELLITE RECEIVER (Optional)
• AUX 2 is the DVD. DVD discs are protected under copy right laws and can
not be taped.
• CABLE is the Shore Cable coax feed which uses the VCR tuner for channel selection.

QUICK START PROCEDURES FOR BOSE LIFESTYLE “8”SYSTEM
To Watch the Television - Front (Roof Antenna or Shore Cable):
1. For the Roof Antenna: Raise the roof antenna. Turn on the TV
Amplifier. The green light will come on.
For the Shore Cable: Connect the shore
coax cable to the coach service bay.
2. Push either the ANT button or the CABLE
button located on the Video Selector under
TV VIEWING.
3. Turn on the Front TV and select the desired
TV channel.
NOTE: Optimum reception may require
antenna adjustment.
4. From the “Bose” Control Center or
its remote, push the VIDEO button.
Select one of three surround speaker
sound buttons from the remote and
adjust the volume as desired.
NOTE: Certain TV models require the TV volume be
turned up to a low level of sound for the BOSE system to
function.

To Watch a DVD - Front Television:
1. Push the AUX 2 button located on the
Video Selector under TV VIEWING.
2. Turn on TV and Select Channel 3, or
the same channel as the RF Modulator.
3. Turn on DVD player and insert a disc. It
will start playing automatically.
4. Use either the “Bose” Control Center or its
remote. Push the AUX button on the Video
Selector.
5. Select one of the three surround speaker
buttons from the remote. Adjust the
volume as desired.
To Watch A VCR Tape - Front Television:
1. Push the VCR button located on the Video Selector under
the TV VIEWING section.
2. Turn on the Front TV and select channel 3.
3. Turn on the VCR and insert a tape. The tape will start to play
automatically.
4. Use the “Bose” Control Center or its remote. Push the
TAPE button.
5. Select one of the three surround speaker buttons from
remote and adjust the volume as required.

To Listen to the Radio:
1. Use the “Bose” Control Center or its remote. Push the
AM/FM button. This will turn on the music system and
select the most recently played station. The AM/FM
button allows selection of the AM or FM bands.
2. The SEEK buttons on the remote are used to select the
station of choice. The SEEK/TUNE buttons are under
the CD cover on the music center. The system will
power up in the “Stereo Mode”.
3. Select one of the three surround speaker buttons from
remote and adjust the volume as desired.
NOTE: The Bose system can store up to twenty
AM or FM stations in any combinations.
Listening to the CD:
1. Raise the cover for the CD and load the spindle. place
the CD in with label side up. Close the CD cover.
2. Use the “Bose” Control Center or its remote. Push
the “CD” button. The system will power up in the
Stereo mode.
3. Select one of the three surround speaker buttons from
remote and adjust the volume as desired.
4. The following buttons can be used with the CD functions:
PLAY/PAUSE: Starts the CD or pauses the CD.
STOP: Stops the rotation of the CD.
SKIP: Skips to the next track.
SEEK: Searches each track for selection.

TO WATCH THE SATELLITE (DSS) - FRONT - (Optional)
1. Turn the power ON for the Antenna Control Unit. This requires 12 Volt DC.
The Battery Cut-Off switch must be on.
2. Ensure the Elevation Angle Selector is set to the proper elevation. This setting will
change with locations. The DSS User’s Guide describes this process.
3. Select the VIEW mode on the Antenna Control Unit. The Antenna will
search for the Satellite.
4. The Satellite Receiver will turn
on automatically when VIEW
is pressed.
5. Use the Video Selector
under TV VIEWING.
Push the AUX 1 button.
6. Turn the TV on and Select
Channel 3 or the same channel
as the RF Modulator.
NOTE: The satellite remote can be programed for
Infarred Ray (IR) or Radio Frequency (RF). This
will enable either line of sight or control from another
area.
7. From the “Bose” Control Center or
its remote, push the VIDEO button.
Select one of the three surround
speaker button from remote and
adjust volume as desired.
NOTE: An alternate method to view the satellite
is through the VCR . Select VCR under TV
VIEWING. Press the TV/VIDEO button, and
INPUT SELECT on the VCR Remote. L1 will
be displayed. Select TAPE from Bose system for
surround sound.

To Watch the Television - Bedroom:
1. Using the Roof Antenna: Raise the roof antenna and turn on the TV Amplifier. The
green light will come on.
Using the Shore Cable: Connect shore coax cable to coach service bay.
2. Push either the ANT button or the CABLE button located on the Video Selector under
REMOTE TV VIEWING.
3. Turn the bedroom TV on and select the desired TV channel.
4. Use the TV or the TV Remote to adjust the volume.
To Watch a DVD - Bedroom Television:
1. Push the AUX 2 button located on the Video Selector under REMOTE TV VIEWING.
2. Turn the TV on. Select Channel 3 or the same channel as the RF Modulator.
3. Turn the DVD player on and insert a disc. It will start playing automatically.
4. Use the TV or TV Remote to adjust the volume as desired.
To Watch a VCR Tape - Bedroom Television:
1. Push the VCR button located on the Video Selector under REMOTE TV VIEWING.
2. Turn on the VCR and insert a tape. The tape will start to playing automatically.
3. Turn on the bedroom TV and select channel 3.
4. Adjust the sound level on the TV or by using the TV remote.

To Watch the Satellite (DSS) - Bedroom Television:
1. Turn the power ON for the Antenna Control Unit. This requires 12 Volt DC, the Battery
cut-off switch must be on.
2. Ensure the Elevation Angle Selector angle is set to the current location. The DSS User’s
Guide descirbes this process.
3. Select the VIEW mode on the Antenna Control Unit. The Antenna will search for the
Satellite.
4. The Satellite Receiver will turn on automatically when VIEW is pressed.
5. Go to the Video Selector and under REMOTE TV VIEWING, push AUX 1 button
6. Turn on TV and Select Channel 3, or the same channel as the RF Modulator.
NOTE: The satellite remote must be programed for RF to operate from the bed-
room area. Refer to the satellite receiver owner’s manual for the procedure.
To Record Using the VCR:
1. On the Video Selector under VCR RECORDING push the button that represents
the program source you wish to record.
• ANT is the Roof TV Antenna which uses the VCR tuner for channel selection.
• AUX 1 is the SATELLITE RECEIVER (Optional)
• AUX 2 is the DVD. DVD discs are copyrighted and cannot be recorded.
• CABLE is the Shore Cable coax feed which uses the VCR tuner for channel selection.
2. Please use the prior instructions on
how to activate each piece of Audio/Video
equipment as desired.
3. Turn on the VCR and insert a blank VCR tape.
4. Push the record button on the VCR or the
VCR remote to begin recording.
NOTE: If recording a “Surround Sound” program from the satellite
receiver only, you must select Line Input from the VCR remote, using the
Input Select buttom. This is the highest quality audio.
NOTE: You can record something from one source, such as the satellite
receiver, while viewing a TV program from the shore cable.
