1.Safety
• The product should not be taken apart or modified.
• Warning! Certain exposed parts inside thecasing carry dangerous current.
Contact with these can lead to fire or electric shock.
• The product is designed for indoor useonly.
• Never subject theproduct to high temperature, dust, heavy vibration, impacts,
humidity or moisture.
• Do not place theproduct where there is arisk of it falling into water or other liquid.
Donot place containers with liquid on theproduct e.g. flower vases, coffee cups,
fizzy drink bottles.
• Disconnect theproduct from thepower supply by unplugging it from thewall
socket. Theproduct’s plug should always be easily accessible.
• The on/off switch only switches thedevice into standby power mode and does not
totally cut off current from themains.
• Do not cover theappliance. Adequate ventilation with adistance of at least
10cm between ventilation holes and thesurrounding area is necessary to prevent
theappliance from overheating.
• This product should not be exposed to strong electromagnetic force fields as this
may cause malfunctions.
• Protect your hearing. Listening on high volume for prolonged periods can lead to
permanent hearing loss.
• Repairs and service should only be performed by qualified tradesmen, and only
with original spareparts.

3.Installation/Mounting
3.1 Preparations
1. Inserting batteries into theremote control:
- Press down thebattery cover at “OPEN” and push
thebattery cover outwards in thedirection of thearrow.
- Insert 2×R03 (1.5 V) batteries (sold separately)
according to themarkings in thebattery compartment.
- Push in thebattery cover until it locksshut.
- Remove batteries from theremote control if it is not
going to be used for longer periods. Donot mix
different battery types.
2. Connect thespeakers to themainunit:
- Connect theright-hand speaker to R,
thewhite marked cable to (red) and
theblack cable to ▬(black).
- Connect theleft-hand speaker to L,
thewhite marked cable to (red) and
theblack cable to ▬(black).
- Make sure that thecable is securely attached.
3. Connect themains lead to awall socket.
4. Unwind theradio antenna.
4.Operation
4.1 Power On/Off
1. Turnon theproduct using themain power switch (23), thestandby indicator (8)
comes on and awelcome message is displayed. Theproduct is in standby mode.
2. Press[ /I] (7) or [STANDBY/ ] (24) to turn theproduct on.
3. Turnoff theproduct by turning thepower switch to theOFF position and unplug it.
4.2 Listening to DAB, FM, CD, USB, SD memory card, BT or AUX
1. Turnon theproduct using themain power switch (23), thestandby indicator (8)
comes on and awelcome message is displayed. Theproduct is in standby mode.
2. Press[ /I] (7) or [STANDBY/ ] (24) to turn theproduct on.
3. Selectaudio source: DAB, FM, CD, USB, SD memory card, BT or AUX by pressing
[MODE] (9) or (35) repeatedly. Theselected function appears on thedisplay.
4. Adjustthevolume using thevolume control on themain unit or remote control.
5. Turnoff theproduct by turning themain power switch (23) to theOFF position and
unplug it.

Note:
• If there is no signal from DAB, FM, CD, USB, SD Memory Card, BT or AUX for
15minutes, themain unit will switch off.
• In AUX mode, themain unit will switch to standby mode after about 4 hours
whether there is signal or not. “Auto OFF” will flash on thedisplay 10 minutes
before it goes into standby mode. Press[INTRO] (43) to continue playback for
another 4hours.
• Activate thebacklight in standby mode by pressing any button. Thelight stays on
for about 10 seconds.
• Turn off theproduct by turning thepower switch to theOFF position and unplug it.
4.3 Setting the clock
If you are able to receive DAB signals, theclock is set automatically shortly after tuning
into aDAB station. Ifyou can only receive FM stations, theclock must be set manually.
Note:Manual setting can only be done in standby mode.
Setting theclock manually:
1. Turnon theproduct using themain power switch (23), thestandby indicator (8)
comes on and “Scan time” or “00:00” is displayed.
2. Instandby mode, press [MEMORY] (10) or (36) until “00”: XX (hours) starts
flashing. Enterthecorrect time using [ 9 ] or [ : ] (11) or (28), press [MEMORY] to
confirm. Dothesame to set thecorrect minute.
3. Press[MEMORY] to confirm and exit thesettings mode.
4.4 Setting the timer (using the remote control)
The timer function allows you to switch theproduct on and off at adesired time.
Activate/deactivate:
1. Press[TIMER] (41) until “ON TIMER” is displayed for several seconds and
“00”: XX (hours) starts flashing. Enterthecorrect hour to activate using [ 9 ] or [ : ]
(28), press [TIMER] to confirm. Dothesame to set thecorrect minute.
2. “OFF TIMER” is displayed for several seconds and “00”: XX (hours) starts flashing.
Enterthecorrect hour to deactivate using [ 9 ] or [ : ], press [TIMER] to confirm.
Dothesame to set thecorrect minute.
3. Press[MEMORY] to confirm.
4. Selectthefunction to be controlled by thetimer function using [ 9 ] or [ : ], FM
– CD – USB – CARD – DAB. Press[TIMER] to confirm. “Volume 15” flashes for
several seconds, which means it is possible to set thedesired volume level upon
activation.
5. Aclock symbol appears in theupper left corner of thedisplay when thetimer
function is activated.
6. Press[TIMER] (41) repeatedly to display thetimer settings.
Toswitch off thetimer function: Press[TIMER] (41) repeatedly until “Timer on” or
“Timer off” appears on thedisplay.

4.5 Sleep function (using the remote control)
The sleep function allows you to switch theproduct off after thedesired time.
1. Press[SLEEP] (31) when themain unit is switched on. “SLEEP SETTING” briefly
appears on thedisplay, press repeatedly to select thepreferred time to switch off.
SLEEP 90–80–70–60–50–40–30–20–10–OFF. Release thebutton at thedesired
setting to confirm theswitch-offtime.
2. Thedisplay shows alternating set functions and thenumber of minutes remaining
until theproduct switches off “SLEEP REMAIN XX”.
3. Switchoff theset sleep function by pressing [SLEEP] (31) repeatedly until
“SLEEPOFF” is displayed.
4.6 Listening to radio
Tips for getting thebest reception:
• The product has athread antenna (19) for receiving FM/DAB signals. Forthebest
possible reception, unwind theantenna fully and try different positions until you
have agood reception.
• ForDAB radio, theantenna should be vertical i.e. pointing straight up ordown.
4.6.1 DAB/DAB+mode, Full-scan starts automatically
Automatic scanning for channels:
1. Press[ /I] (7) or [STANDBY/ ] (24) (in standby mode) to switch on theradio.
Thedisplay will show “Welcome to DAB Radio”. Theproduct will automatically
start DAB mode and scan for channels. “Scanning - -” is displayed while
thechannels are being scanned as well as aprogress bar showing thetime spent
and thenumber of channels found. Infull-scan mode, theproduct scans for all
channels on DAB/DAB+ BandIII.
2. Oncethechannel scan is complete, theradio will select thefirst station (in
alphabetical order). Showchannels discovered by pressing [ 9 ]/[ : ] (28) or
[SKIP/TUNE SEARCH] (11) repeatedly. Whentherequired channel appears on
thedisplay, press [SELECT] (13) or (29) to begin listening.
4.6.2 DAB/DAB+ Start Full-scan manually
Manual scanning for channels.
1. Press[ /I] (7) or (24) (in standby mode) to switch on theradio.
2. Startautomatic channel scanning (when you are in DAB mode) by holding in
[ 4 /;] (28) or [PLAY/PAUSE] (16).
3. “Scanning- - -” is displayed while thechannels are being scanned as well as
aprogress bar showing thetime spent and thenumber of channels found. Infull-
scan mode, theproduct scans for all channels on DAB/DAB+ BandIII.
4. Oncethechannel scan is complete, theradio will select thefirst station (in
alphabetical order). Showchannels discovered by pressing å[ 9 ] [ : ] (28) or
[SKIP/TUNE SEARCH] (11) repeatedly. Whentherequired channel appears on
thedisplay, press [SELECT] (13) or (29) to begin listening.

4.6.3 DAB/DAB+ Manual station search
In manual search mode, theproduct scans for all channels on DAB/DAB+ BandIII.
1. Activate themanual search mode by pressing in [MENU] Stop (15) or (37)
[PLAY/PAUSE/SCAN] (37) to open thesettings menu. SelectManual tune using
[SKIP/TUNE SEARCH] (11).
2. Scrollthrough thestations in DAB/DAB +. Thedisplay shows “5A to 13F” with their
associated frequencies.
3. Whenthedesired frequency appears on thedisplay, press [SELECT] (13) or (29) to
confirm. Thestation name (group) appears on thedisplay.
4.6.4 Secondary services
For some stations, the“>” symbol may be displayed after thestation name.
Thisindicates that thestation has secondary services that are controlled by themain
station. Display secondary functions by pressing [SELECT/MONO/ST.] (29) when
the“>” symbol appears on thedisplay.
4.6.5 FM mode
1. Press[MODE] repeatedly to select FM radio. WhenFM is selected, “Radio
initialize, Please wait” appears on thedisplay and after afew seconds,
thefrequency of thefirst station detected will be displayed.
2. Startautomatic channel scanning by holding in [ 4 /;] (28) or [PLAY/PAUSE]
(16). Thesearch stops when astation has been found. Itis also possible to hold in
[SKIP/TUNE SEARCH] (11) until therequired frequency appears on thedisplay.
3. Press[SELECT] (13) or [SELECT/MONO/ST. ] (29) repeatedly to switch between
FM “STEREO” and “MONO” sound.
4.6.6 Save and listen to discovered DAB and FM stations
It is possible to save up to 30 FM and DAB stations as favourites in thestation
memory. How to save astation in thememory:
1. Tuneinto therequired station, press [MEMORY] (10) or (36) until the# symbol
appears on thedisplay.
2. Press[SKIP/TUNE SEARCH] (11) repeatedly until thedesired number that
thestation will be saved under appears on thedisplay.
3. Press[SELECT] (13) or [SELECT/MONO/ST. ] (29) to confirm your selection.
“Preset # store” appears on thedisplay when thestation issaved.
To listen to apreset station:
1. Press[MEMORY] once, then press [SKIP/TUNE SEARCH ] (11) repeatedly to go
to thestation number where thechannel issaved.
2. Press[SELECT] (13) or [SELECT/MONO/ST. ] (29) to confirm.
Note: Thesaved stations are stored in thememory and are NOT erased when
theproduct is switched off.

5.Reset to factory default settings
If you move to adifferent part of thecountry or to adifferent country, your preset
stations are not guaranteed to work there. Youmay then need to reset theproduct to
its factory default settings.
1. Turnon theproduct using [ON/OFF] (23), thestandby indicator (8) comes on and
awelcome message is displayed. Theproduct is in standby mode.
2. Press[MENU/<] (15) until “System reset please wait” appears. When“System
reset ok” appears, thereset is complete.
3. Press[ /I] (7) on themain unit or [STANDBY/ ] (24) on theremote control to
turn theproduct on.
4. DAB search starts automatically. Thefirst radio channel discovered (in alphabetical
order) is displayed when thesearch is complete.
Note: Thestations stored in thememory will be deleted after resetting thesystem.
6.Display mode
If you press [MENU/<] (15) or [</MENU/INFO] (39) repeatedly, thedisplay will show
different information.
FM: Signalstrength →Frequency →Auto (Mono/Stereo) →etc.
DAB/DAB+: Groupname →Signal strength →Time/date →DLS (scrolling text) →
Programme type →Audio bit rate →Frequency →etc.
Auto (Mono) FM Stereo and FMMono
Signal strength The signal strength is shown as abar. Thelonger thebar,
thestronger thesignal.
Time and date The time and date are updated automatically via theradio
broadcast (DAB/DAB+). Ifno time/date information is available
thedisplay shows: “<Time/Date>”.
Audio bit rate The display shows thebit rate that is being received.
Frequency The frequency of thestation being listened to is displayed.
Group Group of radio stations that belong together and broadcast
together on thesame frequency. Thereare local and national
groups.
Programme type The display shows thetype of programme being received.
Ifthere is no information about theprogramme type, thedisplay
shows: “<Programme Type>”.
DLS DLS stands for Dynamic Label Segment i.e. text information from
thebroadcasting station.

7.Listening to CD/MP3/WMA
7.1 CD media
1. Press[ /I] (7) or (24) (in standby mode) to switch on theproduct.
2. Press[MODE] (9) or (35) repeatedly to select “CD”.
3. Press[OPEN/CLOSE] (12) to open theCDtray.
4. PlaceaCD/MP3 disc in theCD tray and press [OPEN/CLOSE] (12) to close
theCD tray.
Note:
• The product can play CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3 and WMA discs. Theproduct can
also play “8 cm” and “Multi Section” MP3discs.
• Playback of MP3 with 32–320 kbps, and WMA with 64–320kbps.
• Limit of readable folders: 99 and tracks: 999. Ifno disc is in theplayer or if it
cannot be read, “NO DISC” is displayed.
7.1.1 CD
1. Theplayer will automatically detect how many folders and tracks are on thedisc.
2. Press[PLAY/PAUSE] (16) or (37). Thefirst track will then start to play. Alltracks will
be played.
3. Press[PLAY/PAUSE] again to pause during playback. Theplayback time for
thecurrent track flashes on thedisplay.
4. Press[SKIP/TUNE SEARCH] (11) or (38) once to change tracks. Keepthebutton
pressed in to skip between tracks more quickly.
5. Press[PLAY/PAUSE] once again to return to normal playback. Stopplayback by
pressing [MENU/<] (15) or [</MENU/INFO] (39) once.
7.1.2 MP3/WMA
1. Theplayer will automatically detect how many folders and tracks are on thedisc.
2. Press[PLAY/PAUSE] (16) or [ 4 /;] (37). Thefirst track will then start to play.
Alltracks will be played.
3. Press[PLAY/PAUSE] again to pause during playback. Theplayback time for
thecurrent track flashes on thedisplay.
4. Press[SKIP/TUNE SEARCH] (11) or [ 9 ]/[ : ] (28) once to change track.
Keepthebutton pressed in to skip between tracks more quickly.
5. Press[PLAY/PAUSE] once again to return to normal playback.
6. Changealbum by pressing [FOLDER] (30) or (40).
7. Stopplayback by pressing [MENU/<] (15) or [</MENU/INFO] (39) once.

7.2 USB connection or SD memory card
1. Connect theUSB memory or SD memory (containing saved sound files), to
theconnection ports under thecover (3).
2. Press[ /I] (7) or (24) (in standby mode) to switch on theproduct.
3. Press[MODE] (9) or (35) repeatedly and select “USB” or “SD CARD”.
4. Theproduct will automatically detect how many folders and tracks are on theUSB
memory/memory card.
5. Press[PLAY/PAUSE] (16) or (37). Thefirst track will then start to play. Alltracks will
be played.
6. IftheUSB memory has more than 1 folder:
- Press [FOLDER] (30) or (40) to select folder.
- Press [SKIP/TUNE SEARCH] (11) or (38) once to select tracks from theselected
folder. Keepthebutton pressed in to skip between tracks more quickly.
7. Press[PLAY/PAUSE] again to pause during playback. Theplayback time
indicatorflashes.
8. Press[PLAY/PAUSE] to start theplayback again.
9. Press[MENU/<] (15) or [</MENU/INFO] (39) to stop playback.
Note:
• The product can only play MP3 and WMA files in thismode.
• The unit supports themajority of USB memories and SD/SDHC (up to 32 GB
capacity in SDHC). Memories of higher capacity cannot be read or are read slowly.
• The main unit does not support WMA files that are protected by a“DRM FILE”.
Itonly supports USB versions 1.1 and 2.0.
Note: TheUSB or SD memory must be securely connected to theport while playing
to avoid damaging themain unit or memory. Donot remove amemory card while
playback from thememory is underway.
7.3 ID3 information (during MP3/WMA playback)
1. Press[MEMORY] (10) or (36) once to open theID3 function.
2. IftheMP3/WMA file has ID3 information, it is shown automatically:
“TITLE NAME” →“ARTIST NAME” →“ALBUM NAME” appear on thedisplay.
3. Press[MEMORY] once to return to normal playback mode.

7.4 Repeat playback
7.4.1 CD
• Press[REPEAT] (33) once, “REP-1” appears on thedisplay. Themusic track that
is playing will be repeated continuously.
• Press[REPEAT] twice, “REP ALL” appears on thedisplay. Allmusic tracks will be
repeated continuously.
• Press[REPEAT] 3 times to deactivate repeat playback.
7.4.2 MP3/WMA/USB/SD CARD
• Press[REPEAT] (33) once, “REP-1” appears on thedisplay. Themusic track that
is playing will be repeated continuously.
• Press[REPEAT] twice, “REP ALL” appears on thedisplay. Allmusic tracks will be
repeated continuously.
• Press[REPEAT] 3 times, “REP ALBUM” appears on thedisplay. Allmusic tracks in
thecurrent folder will be repeated continuously.
• Press[REPEAT] once to deactivate repeat playback.
7.5 Programmed playback
It is possible to programme up to 32 music tracks for aCD and up to 64 music tracks
for MP3/WMA/USB/SD CARD, for playback in acertain order. Programming mode is
only active in stopmode.
7.5.1 CD
1. Press[MEMORY] (10) or (36).
2. “P-01” is displayed, “T-000” flashes (P-01 is aprogramme slot 1, T-000 is thetrack
number on theCD).
3. Selectthetrack required on theCD using [ 9 ] or [ : ] (11) or (28) and then press
[MEMORY] to confirm thecurrent track number for programme slot1.
4. Dothesame for theother programme slots.
7.5.2 MP3/WMA
1. Press[MEMORY] (10) or (36). Thefolder number flashes (F-01).
2. Press[FOLDER] (30) or (40) to change thefolder number.
3. Press[MEMORY], thetitle of thefirst track appears on thedisplay.
4. Selectthetrack required on theCD using [ 9 ] or [ : ] (11) or (28) and then press
[MEMORY] to confirm thecurrent track number for programme slot1.
5. Dothesame for theother programme slots.

7.5.3 Playing a programmed playlist
Press [PLAY/PAUSE] (16) or (37). Thefirst track will then start to play. Alltracks will be
played in theorder determined. Whenall thetracks have been played, thenumber of
files played and thetotal elapsed time for CD/MP3/WMA files appears on thedisplay.
7.5.4 Stop playing a programmed playlist
Press [MENU/<] (15) or [</MENU/INFO] (39) once to stop playing theprogrammed
playlist.
Note: Functions in programming mode:
• Press[REPEAT] (33) once, “REP-1” appears on thedisplay. Themusic track that
is playing will be repeated continuously.
• Press[REPEAT] twice, “REP ALL” appears on thedisplay. Allmusic tracks in
thecurrent programme will be repeated continuously.
• Press[REPEAT] once to deactivate repeat playback.
7.6 Random
1. InCD mode, stop playback with [</MENU/INFO] (39).
2. Push[RANDOM] (32) once to select random play. “RANDOM” will appear on
thedisplay. Different tracks will be played randomly.
During playback:
Push[RANDOM] twice to select random playback. “RANDOM” will appear on
thedisplay. Thenpress [SKIP/TUNE SEARCH] (11) or (38) once to change tracks.
Thetracks will be played randomly.
Return to normal playback:
Press [RANDOM] once to return to normal playback mode.
7.7 Intro (play the first 10 seconds of each track)
1. Press[INTRO] (43) once, “INTRO” appears on thedisplay. Thefirst 10 seconds of
all music tracks will be played.
2. Press[INTRO] twice to return to normal playback mode.

8.Bluetooth
Note: Pleaseread theinstruction manual for theproduct you wish to connect to
thespeaker.
Ensure that all Bluetooth devices (except theone that you will connect to) within
10metres of your product are turned off or have their Bluetooth function deactivated.
Otherwise it can be difficult to connect your product with thecorrect device.
This product supports thefollowing Bluetooth profiles:
• Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)
- Stereo connection with high sound quality.
- Streaming stereo from aPC, mobile phone.
• Audio Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP)
- Remote control of thedevices.
- Controlling connected devices.
8.1 Stereo connection of product to your mobile phone
Your mobile phone must be able to support A2DP.
1. Makesure your product is turned on, press [MODE] (9) repeatedly and go to
BTLINK.
2. “BT LINK” flashes on thedisplay when the product is in search mode.
3. Activate theBluetooth search mode on your mobile phone (or thedevice that
will be connected to the product). Oncethedevices have found each other,
“BTspeakerN” will appear in theproduct list of Bluetooth devices. Youmay need
to enter aPIN code 0000, but if thesoftware in thetelephone (or other connected
device) is newer than 2.1, thecode will not be necessary.
4. “BT LINK” stops flashing on thedisplay when the product is connected to
theother device. Thereis 1 “beep” when theconnection is completed.
8.2 Transfer of streaming music
1. Press[PLAY/PAUSE] (16) or (37) on theproduct or equivalent on theconnected
device. Bothdevices can control theplayback
2. Press[SKIP/TUNE SEARCH] (11) or (38) once or equivalent on theconnected
device to change tracks.
Note:
• Ifthe product loses contact with theother unit, “BT LINK” will start flashing on
thedisplay. Ifit cannot connect with another unit for 15 minutes, the product will
return to standby mode.
• Somemobile phones will interrupt theconnection when making or receiving calls.
Thisis normal and does not mean there is afault with theproduct.

9.AUX connection
On theback of theproduct there is anAUX input with 2×RCA sockets. Thiscan be
used for connecting different types of audio devices.
1. Connect anexternal device with acable to AUX (20).
2. Press[MODE] (9) repeatedly and select “AUX”.
3. Control playback from theconnected device.
Note: Connecting cable is sold separately.
10. EQ control (on the remote control)
Press [EQ] (26) repeatedly to select therequired sound reproduction.
Selectfrom: FLAT →CLASSIC →ROCK →POP →JAZZ →FLATetc.
11. Mute
1. Press[MUTE] (25) to temporarily turn off thesound. “MUTE” appears on
thedisplay.
2. Press[MUTE] or turn thevolume control (18) or (34) to reactivate thesound.
12. Headphones
1. Connect theheadphone plug (Ø 3.5 mm) to theheadphone jack (5).
Note:Headphones are sold separately.
2. Thespeaker switches off automatically when headphones are connected.
13. Waste disposal
