FITTING
REQUIRED COMPONENTS
• 2 People Minimum
• 5mm Drill Bit
• 9mm Drill
• Thread Locker
• Silicone (Recommended: Sikaflex 227)
• 13mm Spanner/Socket
• 6mm Allen Key
STEP 1
Mark out on your awning where your mounts will go, placing them as far apart as possi-
ble. Then punch the required holes in the canvas bag.

STEP 2
Mount the supplied brackets to your awning.

STEP 3
Hold the awning in place on the tent and mark the location of the front and rear mounts.
Remove the tent section of the brackets and line it up with your markings, use this as a
template to mark where you will drill your holes.
The strongest point of the RT1 is in the corners, if you have a 270 awning, place the
rear mount as far back as possible.

Use masking tape to prevent drawing on
the tent and to minimise swarf entering
the tent when drilling

STEP 4
Use a centre punch to ensure that the drill does not wander. Starting with a 5mm drill
bit, drill your marked holes and finish with a 9mm bit. It is recommended to deburr your
holes.

STEP 5
We recommend test fitting your awning before using silicone and thread locker.
Clean area and put silicone around each hole for the external and internal mounting
plates. This will prevent any water or dust from entering.

STEP 6
Ensure that you have all necessary washers and split washers.
Apply thread locker to your supplied bolts.
Get your helper to hold the external plate onto the tent and feed the bolts through.
Place the internal mounting plates over the bolts and tighten the supplied nylon nuts.
Ensure that these are evenly tightened.

STEP 7
Vacuum the inside of your tent and wipe away any excess silicone before it dries.
STEP 8
Slide the awning brackets over the tent mounted brackets and set it to your desired
height.
Apply thread locker to the supplied bolts and tighten evenly.
