Introduction and connections
Thank you for choosing the INFRACOM simultaneous interpreting system from Brähler Systems. Using up to
32 channels and languages, INFRACOM distributes language signals from simultaneous interpreters to the
conference delegates via infrared light, wireless and invisible. The system uses the Band IV infrared range for
this purpose, guaranteeing interference-free transmission of the content - even in sunlight or extremely bright
artificial light. This works for large congresses as well as for smaller conferences.
The entire system can be easily secured against eavesdropping attempts from outside. All information within
the INFRACOM system is transmitted by means of light waves - these can easily be restricted in their
propagation. Dark curtains, for example, are sufficient for sealing off the outside.
The SV/BNC distribution amplifier is used within the system to distribute signals to several infrared radiators. It
has one input and five outputs as well as LOOP for the RF signals to the radiators. The distributor is suitable for
operation in band II as well as band IV. The amplified signals can be transmitted over long distances. Its small
size makes the SV/BNC an ideal solution for extending IR illuminators into new or existing systems such as
those found in boardrooms, control centers, or rental and stage environments.
System components:
Compact transmitter ICenIV
Interpreter console DOL7/2E
High power radiator IRad
Infrared receiver IRX
TK5 transport and loading cassette
Distributor SV/BNC
Conference headphones K45
Optional:
The INFRACOM system is fully compatible with the Brähler Systems DIGIMIC conference system
(transmission of up to 32 channels).
For the operation of the individual components, please read the corresponding instructions.
The product complies with the regulations of the following European directives:
73/23/EEC, 2 4/1 8/EC and 99/5EC
CAUTION
Changes or modifications that are not expressly approved by Brähler System

Green LED: The green LED on the front panel indicates the operating status of the SV/BNC -
when switched on, the LED lights up.
INPUT (BNC): Input of the input signal via BNC, e.g. from the
Transmitter
Mains connection: 12 volt mains connection for voltage supply via an external power supply
unit.
Be sure to observe the polarity of the connections!

LOOP: The input signal is looped through via the LOOP. The input signal is available at the
socket for the purpose of forwarding to other distributors or also radiators.
Terminating resistor: Switchable 5 Ohm resistor (high impedance). Depending on the place
within a system, set the switch to "5 Ohm" or "HIGH Z".
OUTPUT 1-5: Five signal outputs for distributing the signals to further lines or
radiators.

Structure and operation
To put the SV/BNC distributor into operation, first establish a power supply. Plug a suitable power cable into the
power connector of the distributor and connect it to the power supply. Pay attention to the polarity of the
connections.
Connect the distributor to the input channel (INPUT) of your system using BNC. Connect a spotlight/spotlight
chain to at least one of the OUTPUT outputs (1-5). The input signal can also be forwarded via "LOOP" to a
further distributor or also radiator. If further distributors or radiators are connected via "LOOP", set the
terminating resistor to "HIGH Z" - if the distributor is the last one in a chain, set the resistor to "5 Ohm". The
device is now ready for use.
Warnings
The connections of the system are only suitable for other INFRACOM devices. Do not connect any
other devices!
In case of malfunctions, contact a technician, do not try to repair, unscrew or similar INFRACOM
series devices on your own.
