Please read this entire instruction manual before using your Aiden Fire Lamp. Keep this manual and do not
throw it away. All users must read this instruction manual before use. Failure to do so could result in
property damage or bodily injury.
Basic Safety Instructions
Please consider that an open fire is always a potential hazard.
•A burner that is in use should never be left unattended.
•Keep children and pets away from a burner that is in operation.
•The burner is not a toy.
•Only adults should operate the burner.
•Always read and follow the instructions that are on the alcohol bottle.
•Use only denatured alcohol as fuel. Denatured alcohol is also known as bio-ethanol, ethyl alcohol or
methylated spirits. No other fuel can be used with this kind of burner. Failure to use the correct fuel
could result in an uncontrollable fire.
•Always place burner at a safe distance from flammable materials – at least three feet in each
direction. Do not place on or near carpets or rugs. Never place other objects on top of or inside the
burner.
•The burner gets hot during use. Never touch the burner while it is in use. Wait at least 30 minutes
after the flame has been extinguished before touching the burner with bare hands.
•Never add fuel to the burner while it is burning. This could cause severe damage. Wait at least
15 minutes after the fire has been extinguished before refueling. Even if it appears that the fire
has gone out, there may be significant flames or sparks that could ignite upon refueling.
•For lighting and extinguishing, please follow the instructions found later in this manual.

Item Identification
In addition to the charred elm wood Aiden surround, you will find the following items in your package.
First Steps
Before using your new burner for the first time please be sure to follow these steps:
•Remove all packaging material, stickers or labels. Keep all packing materials away from children, as
they may cause choking or suffocation if used improperly.
•Check the contents of the package for damage, and make sure all parts are included. Contact your
dealer if there are any missing or damaged parts.
•Please note if you purchased a lighter with your burner it will be empty of butane due to federal
shipping regulations. You will need to fill it with butane fuel before using.
•Use only a quality bio ethanol fuel comprised of at least 95% ethanol and free of petroleum
distillates to achieve maximum flame vibrancy, fuel efficiency and flame manageability and to avoid
excessive odors. We particularly recommend the e-NRG or decoflame brands.
Filling the Burner
•For greater control attach the optional slow pour spout to the alcohol bottle. The spout should only
be attached during filling. When filling is complete, put the original cap back on to prevent spilling.
•To avoid spilling fuel on the charred wooden surround, fill the burner before placing it in the surround
or carefully and slowly tip the fuel bottle until fuel is pouring from bottle.
•If you prefer, you can use a measuring cup to fill your burner. Pour the appropriate amount of fuel
into the measuring cup then slowly pour from the cup into the burner. Oval Burners hold 25 ounces
of fuel (approximately 3 cups).
•Do not spill the alcohol. If alcohol is spilled, wipe the affected area dry immediately. Once you have
dried the area, use a wet cloth to clean the affected area to prevent the spilled alcohol from
accidentally burning. Spilling alcohol on the wooden surround can lead to further charring.

•Spilled alcohol can damage some surfaces such as wood, paint or leather. By following the above
instructions you are minimizing the possibility of damage.
•Do not overfill the burner. As you pour the fuel, it will be absorbed through the baffle. When no more
fuel is being absorbed, it will begin to pool in the filling reservoir. At this point you will know the
burner is full. The burner does not need to be completely full to the top for proper use, but you will
get the best results when it is full.
•If you accidentally overfill the burner, pour the excess fuel back into the measuring cup and then
transfer it back to the fuel bottle.
Lighting the Burner
•The burner is ready to light once it has been filled with alcohol.
•Use a long lighter that is at least 8 inches in length to light the burner, lighting the nipple area in the
center of the fuel reservoir.
•Never position your hand over the fuel reservoir and do not stand over the burner while lighting.
Always light the burner from the side and never have body parts over the burner.
•Never blow air directly into the flame at any point during the burning process – to do so is a burn
hazard.
•Never add alcohol to an open flame – to do so creates an explosion hazard. Wait at least 15 minutes
after the flame has been extinguished before adding more fuel.

Extinguishing the Burner
•Never try to extinguish the flame using water. This is an explosion hazard.
•To extinguish the fire, place the snuffer tool over the burner baffle. Keep it in place at least 5 minutes
to ensure the flame has been completely extinguished.
•Allow the burner to cool for at least 30 minutes before touching it with bare hands.
•If alcohol remains in the burner, leave the snuffer tool in place to keep the fuel from evaporating.
Maintenance and Care
•Only clean the surface of the burner after it has fully cooled down.
•Do not use abrasive cleaners, scrubbing powder or similar cleaners as they can cause damage.
•To avoid spilling, make sure the burner is empty of alcohol before cleaning.
•To clean, use a wet clean cloth with water and a mild dish detergent on the surface of the stainless
steel if needed (do not get soap or water inside the burner), or wipe with alcohol to remove tarnish
stains. You can also use the polish pad, rubbing with the grain of the metal to remove tougher stains.
•Do not place fragrance inside a burner – fragrance may only be used with Brasa Shadow Lanterns.
Further Safety Instructions
•If alcohol is spilled on the burner, wipe it up immediately using a soft absorbent cloth. Wash out the
cloth afterwards with clean water.
•Allow the burner to cool at least 15 minutes before refueling.
•For safety reasons, this burner can only use denatured alcohol.
•Do not use the burner if it shows visible damage.
•Do not move the burner while it is burning.
Burn Time
•Burners will burn for approximately 2+ hours when filled to maximum capacity with a high quality bio
ethanol fuel. Using a low quality fuel or burning the burner during windy conditions outdoors may
decrease fuel efficiency.
•Oval Burners provide approximately 7,500 BTU thermal output.
•Round Burners provide approximately 3,500 BTU thermal output.
