AUTOMATICDEGAUSSING
All colourtelevision receiversaresensitivetomagneticinfluences,usuallycaused byeither
moving the receiverfromone placetoanotherorusing certainelectricalappliancesnearthe
receiver.Thisresidualmagnetismasitiscalled,sometimescausesdistortion whichgivesrise
to"blotchy"areasofcolourinthe picture.Toavoidtheseeffectsthe receiverincorporatesan
automaticdegaussing circuitwhichoperatesforashortwhileimmediatelyeachtimethe
receiverisswitched on using the mainsswitch.Thiscircuitremovesanyresidualmagnetismin
the metalpartsofthe picturetube and thereforeensuresthateachtimethe receiverisswitched
lifelike.If the setismoved orfaced inadifferentdirection,the mainsswitchmustbe switched
off atleast10 minutesinorderthatthe automaticdegaussing circuitoperatesproperly.

OPERATINGTHETELEVISION
ConnectyourTVaerialtothe aerialinputsocketlocated on the back ofthe TV.
Pushthe MainPowerSwitch,PowerIndicatorwill be illuminated.Afterafewsecondsthe TV
screen will lightup and will showinterferenceon the screen.The TVwill requiretuning intothe

Personal MILD STANDARD VIVID
SLEEP Button
Press the SLEEP button to select a predetermined time when the TV will turn off. The sleep time
can be set to count down from 5 to 120 minutes.
STANDBY Button
lPress the STANDBY button to switch the picture and sound ON/OFF.
MUTE Button
lPress the Mute button to switch OFF the sound, press once again to switch ON the sound.
TV/AV Button
lPress the TV/AV mode button to select VIDEO mode. Press again to go back to TV mode.
DVD/TV Button
lPress the DVD/TV mode button to select DVD mode. Press again to go back to TV mode.

BasicOperation
1.Press “TV/AV/DVD”button on the unitorpress the DVDMODEdirectkeyon the remote
handsettoturnONDVD.
2.Press “OPEN/CLOSE (EJECT)”button toload disc indisc tray.
3.Press “OPEN/CLOSE”button toclosethe tray.
•Holdthe disc withouttouching eitherofitssurfaces,position itwiththe printed titleside
facing up.
Play Discs
1.Press the OPEN/CLOSE Button on the frontpaneland load the Disc on the tray.
The labelside shouldbe facing upwards.ForaDouble-sided DVDDisc,putthe disc withlabel
A/1up.
2.Press the OPEN/CLOSE button againtoclosethe trayand the disc will be loaded.
3.The Disc will be played automatically.
•If itisaDVDdisc,itwill showthe Menu/TitlePage on the screen.
•If itisaCD,itwill playthe firsttrack directly.
4.Press the STOPButton ifyou wanttostop the Disc playback.You can resumeplayback by
pressing the PLAY button and itwill startatthe location whereyou havepressed stopped
(ResumePlay).
5.Press the STOPButton twicetohavethe Disc reallystopped.

Thisfunction isapplicableforDVDand CD audio.

-If the surfaceofthe disc issoiled,wipe the disc outwardsfromthe centerwithasoft,
damp(wateronly)cloth.(Fig.C)
NOTE:(If you wipe the discs inacircularmotion,circularscratchesarelikelytooccur,
whichwill causenoise.)
-Donotuseanytype ofsolventsuchasthinner,benzine,commerciallyavailablecleaners
orantistaticspray.
-If the disc isbroughtfromacoldtoawarmenvironment, moisturemayformon the disc.
Wipe thismoistureoff withasoft, lint-free clothbeforeusing the disc.
NOTE:CDR and CDRWdiscs recorded inCD Audioformatarealsoplayable.
CAUTION!
CDR/CDRWdiscs recorded using apersonalcomputeroraCD recordermaynotplayifthe
disc isdamaged ordirty,orifthereisdirtorcondensation on the player’s lens.
If you recordadisc using apersonalcomputer,even ifitisrecorded inacompatibleformat,
therearecasesinwhichitmaynotplaybecauseofthe settingsofthe application software
used tocreatethe disc.(Check withthe softwarepublisherformoredetailed information.)
