BEFORE FIRST USE
Remove any promotional material attached
to your espresso maker.
Is is recommended that before using the
espresso maker for the first time, fill it to
the MAX mark and run it without using
coffee as per the instructions below. Discard
the hot water once the espresso maker
automatically cuts off.
OPERATION OF YOUR BREVILLE
CAFFEO ESPRESSO MAKER
1. Fill with water
••Position the power base on a firm, level
surface close to a power outlet. Ensure
that the power plug is not plugged into a
power outlet at this stage.
••Unscrew the carafe from the boiler,
then lift the coffee basket out of the top
of the boiler.
••Fill the carafe with
fresh water up to,
but not above the MAX
mark inside
the carafe (300ml).
••Use the carafe to pour
water into
the boiler.
2. Fill with coffee
••Fill the coffee filter
basket with ground
coffee to the rim and
lightly tamp (press
down) the coffee.
••Place the filter
basket back into the
boiler, running your
finger along the rim to remove any loose
coffee grounds and screw on the carafe.
OPERATING YOUR BREVILLE CAFFEO ESPRESSO MAKER
7
For best results, use coffee
ground for percolators.
The strength of the coffee
can be reduced by using a
lighter roast or using less
ground coffee.
If the coffee is pressed
down too hard in the filter
basket, water will take
longer to pass through the
ground coffee resulting in
a bitter taste.
