Welcome to the
QWERTYphone
Telephone sockets
The QWERTYphone is designed to be userfriendly and therefore the easiest
way to ~ earn about all its facilities isto use it. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO TRY
THINGS OUT. YOU CANNOT HARM THE QWERTYphone by simply pressing
afewwrong Keys.

fumes to waik you through thefunctions provided. It does not explain
everylhrlghoweveranddoesallow you to explore!

YourQWERTYphonehasa telephone lead fitted with a new style British
Telecom plug. Ifyou needa
new style socket, refer to Appendix3.

Some options on thescreen include additionalst a• s inform at ion.
This is always given
in block capitals for example 'Auto-answerON'.
When you select these screenkeys the current s a·us changes and
the new status isdisplayed in blockcapitals.

-Idle screen This is thescreen which is displayed on your QWERTYphone when
none ofthe features are
in use. You can always return to the Idle
screen display by pressing theIEXIT
Ikey.
Configure Con fi guration is the term used forthe process of setting up the
QWERTYphone so that it will operate
in a particular way .
If you are notsure aboutthe names used forthe various parts ofthe
QW ERTYphone refer to the labelled diagram in the Getting Started
section ofthis guide.

Installation
Unpacking Remove the QWERTYphonefrom its packing and check that everything has
been suppli
ed .As well asthis guide the box should contain:
• OneQWERTYphone
• 4 AA batte

• Oneinterlock plug
Points to note The batteries ensurethat, should the mainssupply fail. any "setting up"
informa ion inthe QWERTYphone is not lost. They also a
ll ow calls to be made
using the handsetduring ma ins fai lu res. No screen display is provided during
ma in s failures,however.
