conTrol informaTion
The IRONING PLATE is the heated, non-stick surface that is used to press
fabrics, remove wrinkles and create creases
The HEATING INDICATOR LIGHT illuminates when the Temperature Dial is set
to one of the three heat settings
The POWER CORD CLIP holds the power cord securely when wrapped around
the base of the Hand Grip for storage
The WATER TANK CAP covers the Water Tank fill hole The Water Tank Cap
is tethered to the unit, and cannot be completely removed
The WATER TANK WINDOWS let you monitor the level of water in the Water
Tank The unit must be sitting upright to correctly read the water level
The STEAM BUTTON is pressed to activate the unit's steam function
Locking the Steam Button down disables steam; pressing the Steam Button
releases it into the unlocked position, enabling steam
The TEMPERATURE DIAL is turned to select one of three heat settings,
and to turn heating off
The SETTINGS INDICATOR ARROW tells you at what temperature your
dial is set
The HAND GRIP is ergonomically designed for user comfort The Hand Grip
contains the unit's Water Tank, and the base is specially designed for the power
cord to be wrapped around for storage
The INTERNAL WATER TANK, located inside the Hand Grip, is designed
to hold a maximum of 1 oz of water

The VOLTAGE SELECTOR is the recessed switch which is used to set
the unit to either 100-127V or 220-240V electrical voltage standards
By default the Voltage Selector is set to 100-127V
The STANDS are the two supports located at the rear of the main body
The Stands are designed to support the unit in an upright position when
the Ironing Plate is hot
The MEASURING CUP is designed to help you easily and consistently
fill the Water Tank with the optimum amount of water
operaTion
Main body surface can get hot Grip the Steam Bug™ using the HAND GRIP only
Steam Bug™ is dual-voltage, which allows it to function correctly in regions with
either 100-127V or 220-240V electrical voltage standards Voltage is set using
the VOLTAGE SELECTOR

To change the voltage from 100-127V default setting:
Locate the VOLTAGE SELECTOR SWITCH, recessed inside the slot at the rear
of the Steam Bug™ (see below)
2 Slide the VOLTAGE SELECTOR SWITCH to the right, so that it is closest to
the 220-240V label (A pen tip may be used)
3 Unit is now ready for use in a 220V region
4 To use again in a 100-127V region, slide the VOLTAGE SELECTOR SWITCH
to the left, so that it is the closest to the 100-127V label
Place unit (IRONING PLATE down) on a flat, heat-resistant surface
Fill MEASURING CUP with water up to MAX mark
3 Open WATER TANK CAP
4 Pour water from MEASURING CUP into INTERNAL WATER TANK
5 Close WATER TANK CAP

Turn TEMPERATURE DIAL clockwise as far as possible to set unit to high
temperature (MAX) HEATING INDICATOR LIGHT will illuminate
When HEATING INDICATOR LIGHT turns off, press the STEAM BUTTON
The button will lock into raised position, and unit will begin emitting steam
from steam vents on IRONING PLATE
3 To stop steam flow, press the STEAM BUTTON again to lock it into
lowered position
1 Plug in POWER CORD
2 Turn the TEMPERATURE DIAL clockwise so that the SETTINGS INDICATOR
ARROW points to one of three heat settings on the TEMPERATURE DIAL
The HEATING INDICATOR LIGHT will illuminate
3 When the HEATING INDICATOR LIGHT turns off, IRONING PLATE is heated
and ready for use

cleaning and sTorage
Turn the TEMPERATURE DIAL to the OFF (O) position
Unplug POWER CORD, and if iron is hot, prop it upright on STANDS to
cool for at least 30 minutes
Open WATER TANK CAP and drain any remaining water Close cap
when finished
Wipe main body of iron and IRONING PLATE with a soft cloth lightly
moistened with water
DO NOT clean IRONING PLATE with detergents or descalers.
DO NOT clean IRONING PLATE with abrasive or corrosive products.
DO NOT submerge unit or hold unit under running water.
5 Wrap POWER CORD around base of HAND GRIP and secure the end
in the POWER CORD CLIP

Follow steps 1-3 under the Cleaning And Storage section, but leave the
WATER TANK CAP open
Make a mixture of 1/2 distilled water and 1/2 vinegar using the included
MEASURING CUP
Pour water/vinegar mixture into INTERNAL WATER TANK
Close WATER TANK CAP
Follow normal steam iron procedure, and allow unit to steam out the full
contents of the water tank
When finished, lock STEAM BUTTON in lowered position and unplug unit
Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then refill INTERNAL WATER TANK with fresh
distilled water Repeat STEP 4 until vinegar odor dissipates
Allow unit to cool, then store unit as normal

Do not use while bathing or in a shower
Do not place or store unit where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink

The unit should be situated away from direct sunlight or heat sources such
as radiators, electric heaters, heat registers, stoves, or other units (including
amplifiers) that produce heat Avoid placing on top of stereo equipment that
radiates heat
Never block the air openings of the unit with materials such as clothing,
plastic bags or papers, or place it on a soft surface such as a bed or couch,
where the air openings may be blocked
Do not overload electrical outlet Use only the power source as indicated
Do not carry this unit by cord or use cord as handle
Never operate this unit if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working

When filling Water Tank, only water should be used Other cleaning agents
could damage unit or cause injury Distilled or demineralized water is highly
recommended in order to minimize potential buildup of deposits

Do not attempt to use steam function without properly filling Internal

Do not operate if Steam Vents are blocked
To reduce the risk of contact with hot water or steam, position the Steam
Vents away from body before pressing Steam Button

Consult manufacturer's guidelines before ironing or steaming for the first time
Always allow the Steam Bug™ to cool for at least 30 minutes before storing

one Year limiTed WarranTY
Brookstone® warrants this product against defects in materials and/or workmanship
under normal use for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of purchase by the
original purchaser (“Warranty Period”) If a defect arises and a valid claim is received
within the Warranty Period, at its option, Brookstone will either 1) repair the defect
at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts, or 2) replace the product
with a new product that is at least functionally equivalent to the original product, or
3) provide a store credit in the amount of the purchase price of the original product
A replacement product or part, including a user-installable part installed in accordance
with instructions provided by Brookstone, assumes the remaining warranty of the
original product When a product or part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes
your property and the replaced item becomes Brookstone’s property When a store
credit is given, the original product must be returned to Brookstone and becomes
Brookstone’s property
To obtain warranty service, call Brookstone Limited Warranty Service at
1-800-292-9819 Please be prepared to describe the product that needs service and
the nature of the problem A purchase receipt is required All repairs and replacements
must be authorized in advance Service options, parts availability and response times
will vary You are responsible for delivery and the cost of delivery of the product or any
parts to the authorized service center for replacement, per our instructions
Coverage under this Limited Warranty is limited to the United
States of America, including the District of Columbia and the US Territories of
Guam, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands This Limited Warranty applies only
to products manufactured for Brookstone that can be identified by the “Brookstone”
trademark, trade name, or logo affixed to them or their packaging The Limited
Warranty does not apply to any non-Brookstone products Manufacturers or
suppliers other than Brookstone may provide their own warranties to the purchaser,

but Brookstone, in so far as permitted by law, provides these products “as is”
This warranty does not apply to: a) damage caused by failure to follow instructions
relating to product’s use or the installation of components; b) damage caused by
accident, abuse, misuse, fire, floods, earthquake or other external causes; c) damage
caused by service performed by anyone who is not a representative of Brookstone;
d) accessories used in conjunction with a covered product; e) a product or part
that has been modified to alter functionality or capability; f) items intended to be
periodically replaced by the purchaser during the normal life of the product including,
without limitation, batteries or light bulbs; g) any product sold “as is” including, without
limitation, floor demonstration models and refurbished items; or h) a product that is
used commercially or for a commercial purpose
Some states disallow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages
or how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above exclusions or limitations may not
apply to you This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other
rights, which vary from state to state
