SAFETY
FOR YOUR SAFETY
• Never exceed the maximum rated lift capacity of 750 lbs. (340 kg).
• Read and understand the operating instructions, and all safety precautions
prior to using the lift. Operate the lift several times while the installer is
available to answer questions.
• Never use the VPL-3200B to lift freight or materials other than those intended by design.
• Keep panels and protective coverings in place to avoid potentially fatal injury.
• Do not open the lift’s electrical box. There are no user-serviceable parts in the
electrical box.
• Always be aware of surface conditions before using the lift and take appropriate care.
• Keep hands, ngers and feet away from moving components during lift operation.
• Keep feet at a safe distance from the platform as it is lowered.
• Turn the power source of the device being lifted (scooter, power chair, wheelchair) to
OFF before operating the lift.
• Lock the wheels of any mobility device riding on the platform.
• Remove the key after turning off the VPL-3200B to prevent accidental operation due to
someone or something coming in contact with the key.
• The VPL-3200B includes batteries as its main power source. It will continue to operate
for some time during a power outage.

The information contained in this manual is provided with your safety in mind.
Please read and follow the instructions to ensure safe and trouble-free
operation.
Throughout this manual, safety precautions are provided to identify potentially
hazardous situations and to advise how to avoid them.
Warning–Indicates a potentially hazardous situation that, if not avoided, could
cause serious bodily injury and / or property damage.
Caution–Indicates a potentially hazardous situation that, if not avoided, could
cause damage to the VPL-3200B and / or moderate injury.
Electrical Hazard–Indicates a potentially hazardous electrical situation that,
if not avoided, could cause damage to the VPL-3200B and /
or moderate injury.

OPERATION
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Open the landing gate (if applicable).
2. Move onto the platform.
3. Lock the wheels of the mobility device (if
applicable).
NOTE: Wheels of mobility devices on board
the VPL-3200B must remain locked
while the VPL-3200B is in operation.
4. Insert the key into the call/send switch.
5. Turn the key to the ON position.
6. Press the top of the rocker switch to go UP.
Continue pressing until the platform automati-
cally stops at the top landing.
7. Press the bottom of the rocker switch to go
DOWN. Continue pressing until the platform au-
tomatically stops at the bottom landing.
8. Release the rocker switch.
9. Turn the key to the OFF position.
10. Remove the key from the call/send switch.
11. Exit the lift.

When the VPL is not in use,
Bruno recommends raising
the unit off the ground to
approximately the mid-travel
position.
This will discourage
unwanted use by others and,
in colder climates, prevent the
underpanel from becoming
frozen in accumulated
ice/snow.
OPERATING IN COLD WEATHER
If the temperature falls below 0° F (-18° C):
1. Park the platform in a raised position,
approximately mid-way up the tower.
2. When ready to operate the unit, check for the
presence of accumulated ice or snow on the
control buttons and underpan.
Remove ice/snow before operating the lift.
3. Run the lift down, then all the way up, then to
the desired level to board the platform.
This will warm up the nut and screw mechanism
to allow proper operation of the lift.

EMERGENCY OPERATION
The VPL-3200B Series lifts are equipped
with an electrical emergency operation
function to serve in case of a power failure
or non-operation.
NOTE: In the event of a power failure,
the vertical platform lift will continue to
operate for a period of time without AC
input power. If the unit cannot go any
further UP, it should still operate DOWN
to the lower level.
1. Open the protective cover on the main
power switch.
2. Insert the key into the key switch.
3. Turn and hold the key to the LOWER
position.
4. Release the key when the lift reaches the
desired stop position.
5. Once the unit has arrived at the desired
stop position, remove the key at the AUTO
position only.
NOTE: Whenever the key is released,
it automatically returns to the OFF
position and the lift stops.

EMERGENCY OPERATION: MANUAL
Please rst refer to the EMERGENCY OPERATION:
electrical section.
Bruno offers an optional hand wheel for the VPL-3200B
to serve in case of a power failure or non-operation.
If your lift is not equipped with a hand wheel and you
would like to order one, please contact an authorized
Bruno dealer. Contact a dealer as well if you require
assistance in operating the hand wheel.
NOTE: In the event of a power failure, the
VPL-3200B will continue to operate for a
period of time without AC input power. If the
unit cannot go any further UP, it should still
operate DOWN to the lower level.
Using the hand wheel
1. Loosen the two (2) screws on each side of the top
cover (see left).
2. Slide the top cover up and off.
3. Disconnect the batteries or turn the circuit
breaker OFF.
4. Locate the emergency hand wheel on top of the
lift.
5. Insert the hand wheel into the brake shaft opening
as shown.
6. Turn the wheel counterclockwise to lower the lift.
7. After safe exit of the passenger and mobility device,
determine and remedy the cause of the incorrect
operation.
Contact an authorized Bruno dealer if you require
assistance.
8. Remove and store the emergency hand wheel.
9. Reinstall the top tower cover and tighten the four
(4) screws shown.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Once a year (more frequently if the lift is used under strenuous conditions), have the
lift undergo a complete inspection by an authorized Bruno dealer and any necessary
repairs/replacements. Having the VPL-3200B Series serviced by someone other
than an authorized Bruno dealer will render your warranty null and void.

MAINTENANCE and LONG-TERM STORAGE
MAINTENANCE
EVERY (12) MONTHS (more frequently if the lift is used under strenuous conditions),
have the lift undergo a complete inspection by an authorized Bruno dealer and have this
dealer make any necessary repairs/replacements. Having the VPL-3200B serviced by
someone other than an authorized Bruno dealer will render your warranty null
and void.
1. Check the suspension/drive system:
• belts, including belt tension • Acme screw and drive nuts
• belt pulleys and shafts, including keys • Acme screw lubrication (see Note 1)
• motor • pads and rollers
• bearing (see Note 1)
2. Verify that the platform stops within 1/2" (13 mm) of the landing.
3. Inspect the platform controls and the call/send controls.
4. Inspect the wiring and connectors (see Note 2).
5. Verify general cleanliness of the unit. (It is not uncommon to remove mouse nests.)
NOTE 1: Bruno uses a special grease for better performance over a wider temperature range,
especially in colder environments. Please use Mobil AVIATION GREASE SHC 100 (Bruno
part no. LUB-00114).
NOTE 2: To help protect connector pins from moisture, apply dielectric grease to connectors
exposed to the elements (ex. rain, snow).
EVERY (2) MONTHS
1. Units with electronic door interlock: verify that the platform does not move when any door is not closed
and locked.
2. Units with GAL door interlock: verify that the platform does not move more than 2" (51 mm) in
relation to the landing.
3. Verify that the safety pans (under the platform) are working properly.
NOTE: Do not work under the platform when testing operation.
NOTE: Please reference ILS-01444 (Maintenance Control Plan for Vertical Platform Lifts) for units
that require ASME A18.1 - 2017 and newer compliance.

The quality of parts we use and the care our employees take allow Bruno to provide the original
buyer of its Bruno Vertical Platform Lift with a 1-year warranty that all parts are free of defects in
material and workmanship.
Because of the reliability found in Bruno’s Vertical Platform Lift product Bruno is able to provide the
original buyer with an extended 2-year warranty of the Major Components of the product, to include
the motor, Acme screw and drive nut, brake, pulleys, belt and screw bearings. Bruno’s warranty
periods begin with the date of the installation of the Bruno Vertical Platform Lift.
Bruno Authorized Dealers are trained to evaluate your unique situation and then install the best Bruno
product to meet your needs. The trained installation and service technicians employed by Bruno Authorized
Dealers have the appropriate equipment and resources needed to correctly install and maintain your new
vertical platform lift and are the rst contact for any warranty or service needs.
SPECIFICS OF THE WARRANTY COVERAGE:
◊ All Parts are free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year after the date of
installation.
◊ All MAJOR COMPONENTS are free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of two years
after the date of installation.
◊ All labor to address any product defect by a Bruno Authorized Dealer is covered for the rst 30 days
after installation.
WHAT IS NOT WARRANTY COVERAGE:
◊ Damage to units caused by misuse, abuse, accidents, neglect or modications NOT made by a Bruno
Authorized Dealer.
◊ Consumables.
◊ All labor by a Bruno Authorized Dealer after the rst 30 days since installation.
◊ Reasonable wear and tear.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
All Service and Warranty issues are handled through the Bruno Authorized Dealer that installed the unit.
◊ In no event shall Bruno be responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, whether such
damages arise based on claims based on contract, warranty, tort (including negligence, strict liability or
product liability).
◊ Bruno reserves the right to replace, repair or, if not commercially practical and/or feasible, to elect to refund
the purchase price at its sole discretion.
◊ This warranty gives the original buyer specic legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary
from state to state. Bruno specically does not authorize any person to extend the time or scope of this

SEGURIDAD
PARA SU SEGURIDAD
• Nunca exceda la capacidad máxima nominal de elevación de 750 lbs (340 kg).
• Lea y comprenda las instrucciones de uso y todas las precauciones de seguridad
antes de usar el elevador. Opere el elevador varias veces mientras el instalador
está disponible para contestar preguntas.
• No utilice nunca el VPL-3200B para elevar el ete o los materiales que no sean los diseñados

OPERACIÓN
INSTRUCCIONES
1. Abra la puerta de aterrizaje (si corresponde).
2. Muévete hacia la plataforma.
3. Bloquear las ruedas del dispositivo de movilidad (si
corresponde).
NOTA: Ruedas de dispositivos de movilidad a
bordo el VPL-3200B debe permanecer
bloqueado mientras el VPL-3200B esté
en funcionamiento.
4. Inserte la llave en el interruptor de llamada/envío.
5. Gire la llave a la posición de encendido.
6. Presione la parte superior del interruptor
basculante para subir.
Continúe presionando hasta que la plataforma se
detenga automáticamente en el aterrizaje superior.
7. Presione la parte inferior del interruptor
basculante para bajar.
Continúe presionando hasta que la plataforma se
detenga automáticamente en el aterrizaje inferior.
8. Suelte el interruptor basculante.
9. Gire la llave a la posición de apagado.
10. Extraiga la llave del interruptor de llamada/envío.
11. Salga del ascensor.
Al soltar el botón “call/
send” en cualquier
momento se detiene el
elevador.
Cuando el VPL no está en uso,
Bruno recomienda elevar
la unidad de la tierra a
aproximadamente la posición
de recorrido medio.
Esto desalentará el uso no
deseado por otros y, en climas
más fríos, evitará que el panel
de abajo se congele en hielo/
nieve acumulado.
OPERANDO EN CLIMAS FRÍOS
Si la temperatura cae por debajo de 0 ° F (-18 ° C):
1. Estacione la plataforma en posición elevada,
aproximadamente a medio camino de la torre.
2. Cuando esté listo para operar la unidad, compruebe
la presencia de hielo o nieve acumulada en los
botones de control y la cubeta inferior.
Retire el hielo/nieve antes de operar el elevador.
3. Ejecutar el ascensor hacia abajo, luego todo el camino,
y luego al nivel deseado para abordar la plataforma.
Esto calentará la tuerca y el mecanismo del tornillo
para permitir el funcionamiento correcto del elevador.

Los elevadores de la serie VPL-3200B están
equipados con una función de operación
de emergencia eléctrica para servir en caso
de un fallo de alimentación o de no
funcionamiento.
NOTA: En caso de un fallo de alimentación,
el elevador de plataforma vertical
continuará funcionando durante un
período de tiempo sin alimentación de
entrada de CA. Si la unidad no puede ir
más arriba, debe seguir operando hasta
el nivel inferior.
1. Abra la cubierta protectora en el interruptor
de alimentación principal.
2. Inserte la llave en el interruptor de llave.
3. Gire y sostenga la llave en la posición
INFERIOR.
4. Suelte la llave cuando el elevador alcance
la posición de parada deseada.
5. Una vez que la unidad ha llegado a la
posición de parada deseada, quite la llave
en la posición AUTO (automático)
solamente.
NOTA: Cada vez que se suelta la llave,
vuelve automáticamente a la posición
OFF (apagado) y el elevador se detiene.

OPERACIÓN DE EMERGENCIA: MANUAL
Por favor reérase primero a la sección de
operación de emergencia: eléctrica.
Bruno ofrece una rueda de mano opcional para el
VPL-3200B para servir en caso de un apagón o de
una no-operación.
Si su elevador no está equipado con una rueda de mano
y le gustaría pedir uno, por favor póngase en contacto
con un distribuidor autorizado de Bruno. Póngase en
contacto con un distribuidor también si necesita ayuda
en el manejo de la rueda manual.
NOTE: En caso de un fallo de alimentación, el
VPL-3200B continuará funcionando durante un
período de tiempo sin alimentación de entrada
de CA. Si la unidad no puede ir más arriba, debe
seguir operando hasta el nivel inferior.
Uso de la rueda de mano
1. Aoje los dos (2) tornillos a cada lado de la cubierta
superior (vea la izquierda).
2. Deslice la cubierta superior hacia arriba y hacia
fuera.
3. Desconecte las pilas o apague el disyuntor.
4. Ubique la rueda de mano de emergencia en la
parte superior del elevador.
5. Inserte la rueda de mano en la abertura del eje
del freno como se muestra.
6. Gire la rueda hacia la izquierda para bajar el
elevador.
7. Después de la salida segura del dispositivo de
pasajero y de movilidad, determine y solucione la
causa de la operación incorrecta.
Si necesita ayuda, comuníquese con un distribuidor
autorizado de Bruno.
8. Retire y almacene la rueda de emergencia.
9. Vuelva a instalar la cubierta superior de la torre
y apriete los cuatro (4) tornillos mostrados.
