1. Notes for safe use
This product must not be used for the extraction of solutions or gases containing acids, alkalis, etc.,
especially media containing strong acidity and alkalinity. Such substances will cause the pump's fixed
scroll, orbiting scroll and other materials to be corroded to a certain extent, thereby reducing the service
life of the pump; we also do not recommend to use this product in the occasion of removing the medium
containing organic solvent components which will dilute or dissolve the lubricating grease in the pump
to a certain extent, results in shortening the maintenance cycle of the pump, and will affect the service
life of the pump to a certain extent.
Due to structural reasons, this product uses the Tip-seal of PTFE nature as the seal in the
compression chamber. During normal use, trace powder will be generated. Therefore, customers are
advised not to install a filter with a silencer at the air outlet of the pump. If you feel the pump is noisy
during the pumping process (due to the gas pulse of the pumping process, the pump will generate some
noise), a silencer with a filter device must be installed. It is recommended to clean or directly replace
the element of the silencer periodically (the running time should not exceed three months). When the
silencer is added, the exhaust pressure of the pump will increase due to the air blocking effect. If the
pump is used in this state for a long time, the final service life will be reduced. At the same time, this
product is not suitable for pumping out media containing more dust particles. The composition, size,
and content of dust particles will affect the normal operation of the pump to a certain extent.
If the customer has to use the pump in the aforementioned application areas, please confirm with
our sales staff before purchasing /using.
When the pump purchasing/using for a long time (more than 3 days of shutdown), it is
recommended to warm up the pump for 1 hour if it needs to pump within 5Pa with a vacuum chamber.
Before using the pump, please be sure to read this instruction manual carefully, and pay special
attention to the requirements of “Precautions for Use”. If you have any questions, please call us as soon
as possible.
2. Product Introduction:
The oil-free scroll vacuum pump is a dry vacuum pump newly developed by Baosi Vacuum
recently. This structure vacuum pump is basically oil-free scroll compression technology structure, so it
has the following advantages:
● A small gap, low leakage, high compression ratio, stable pumping speed over a wide pressure
range
● The working cavity formed by the fixed and orbiting scroll is symmetrical, and the pump has a
simple structure and few parts, low vibration noise and high reliability.

● The working pressure range is wide. The driving torque changes little, and the power variation is
small because the change of the compression volume is continuous.
● Because it works in an oil-free environment, it can be used to remove condensable gases without
polluting the chamber.
● Since the main component of the compression chamber is anodized aluminum and PTFE, it is not
suitable to pump corrosive, especially strong acid, strong alkaline gas/liquid (if it will be used to
pump common organic solvent, please consult our salesman.)
Scroll dry pumps are widely used in backing pumps of molecular pumps, medical instruments,
electronics, semiconductors, medicine, vacuum packaging, solar energy, vacuum drying filtration,
scientific research, laboratory instruments, vacuum fixing, vacuum degassing, vacuum forming, vacuum
leak detection, electron accelerator, vacuum coating, recovery device, etc.

5. Installation and operation
5.1 Inspection
5.1.1 Check if the model matches the model you ordered.
5.1.2 Check if any damage on the pump surface
5.1.3 Check if the product and quantity matches the list
Please contact BAOSI if any damage or unlatches.
5.2 Operation environment requirement
5.2.1 Do not install or expose the pump to the area under wet conditions (such as rain or steam).
Moisture on the power connector may cause a short circuit, electric shock, etc.
5.2.2 Do not install or expose the pump to flammable, explosive gases or other related hazards.
Otherwise, the start and stop of the pump may cause fire or explosion.
5.2.3 Please operate at an ambient temperature of 5 °C to 40 °C. If it is operated outside this ambient
temperature range, the pump may not work properly or be damaged.
5.2.4 Do not install a pump in an environment with more dust or corrosive gas. If it is operated or used
in these environments for a long time, it may cause the pump to reduce its service life or directly
damage it.
5.2.5 Ensure the ventilation of the installation area.
5.3 Electrical connection
There are two power supply:single-phase and triphase. wiring method as shown below:
5.3.1 Single-phase motor:
Connect the power line and connector on the pump. Then turn on the power switch "I" is pressed
("0" is in the raised state) and the pump can be operated.

5.3.2 Triphase motor:
Remark: Line N connect to the timer

For the triphase power supply, a junction box is needed to connect a neutral wire (N) to the plug.
For other requirements, please refer to Article 9 “Precautions for Use” in this manual.
5.4 Operation
5.4.1 Before starting, check the condition of each connection, make sure there is no problem with the
seal of connection, and will not affect the pumping rate.
5.4.2 The pump is started for the first time or after a long period of inactivity, it is recommended to open
the inlet and outlet ports and keeping the pump running for 30 minutes.
5.4.3 Close the isolation valve between the pump and chamber to prevent suck-back.
6.Maintenance
When the pump is used for a specified period of time, some inspection and maintenance work is
required, otherwise, it will affect the performance index and service life of the pump.

8. Pump Code
All pumps from Baosi Vacuum has a unique product identification number: product code. Through
this identification number, we can not only query the source and processing data records of all the core
components of the pump but also the basis for the maintenance records to be written to the storage.
When the customer submits warranty and maintenance requirements to our company, please be sure to
provide us with Identification No.
The Identification No is in the position as shown;
9. Cautions
Before using the pump, please check that the single-phase motor's switch position is in the “0”
state.
When using the triphase vacuum pump, make sure that the rotation direction of the pump is
consistent with the direction indicated by the arrow on the pump, and prohibit reverse operation;
When using the single-phase vacuum pump, make sure that the L and N wires of the power supply
are connected to the L and N terminals of the motor terminal box respectively. If they are connected
in the opposite direction, the pump will fail.

For safety, the ground terminal in the motor terminal box should be reliably grounded;
When connected to the power supply line, a thermal overload protector (such as a thermal overload
relay, etc.) should be installed to prevent damage caused by overloading the motor;
When the pump is running, it should be installed horizontally. The angle of inclination should not
exceed 5°at the maximum.
No foreign matter enters the inlet when the pump is running.
