the world!
This manual will help you to get started and to create your first bttn

Setup for mobile data (Option A).

Register your bttn at
http://my.bt.tn/register
Insert micro-SIM card
with a data plan
(For SIM tray’s location,
see photo 1 on last page)
Insert power
4xAA/LR6 - or - micro-USB
(For micro-USB socket’s location,
see photo 2 on last page)
Your SIM card needs to have a valid mobile data subscription plan. bttn uses 2G GPRS radio so faster data rates are not needed.
Take note of battery polarity and use only regular alkaline batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries.
After you insert power, bttn boots up and attempts to connect to the Internet.

Setup for Wi-Fi (Option B).
Before you start, make sure there is no power and no SIM card in your bttn.
Take note of battery polarity and use only regular alkaline batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries.

This guide shows how to tell bttn your Wi-Fi settings through bttn’s own internal Wi-Fi network “bttnconf”.
Steps 2-4 show how to start bttn’s internal Wi-Fi access point. Steps 5-7 show how to configure your Wi-Fi information.

and enter your Wi-Fi
name* and password*.
Use PC or phone to
join “bttnconf” Wi-Fi

Creating a simple email action.

Follow these steps to create a simple action that sends an email message when bttn is pressed.

Your bttn has 6 multicolor LEDs inside, around the
bttn cap. The LEDs show bttn’s status and activity.!
1) Normal operation
FLASHING GREEN – standby (only when on USB power.)
After being pressed:
CLOCKWISE CIRCLING YELLOW - Wait, communicating with bt.tn server.
- after which -
SOLID GREEN RING - transaction completed with server status SUCCESS.
SOLID RED RING - transaction completed with server status FAIL.
This light stays on for a couple of minutes. You can press the bttn again to turn off the
LEDs. You can also change the duration at my.bt.tn under bttn’s settings.
2) Power on / reboot
When bttn starts!or reboots, it shows the following LED sequence:
SOLID YELLOW RING for few seconds, then
CLOCKWISE CIRCLING YELLOW - Searching for Internet connection.
SOLID WHITE RING flashes once - Server was contacted successfully
After bttn is connected to the Internet, LEDs will turn off.
3) Wi-Fi Access Point mode (a & b) and mobile radio signal measurement mode (c)
a) Wi-Fi access point active: SOLID BLUE RING. bttnconf network is available.
b) Wi-Fi information saved: SOLID RED RING – please restart (remove and re-insert power).
c) GSM/GPRS signal strength (0 to 6 GREEN= poor to good, 1 to 6 BLUE= good to excellent).
4) Error codes
a) FLASHING RED AND GREEN when using Wi-Fi
Meaning: Wi-Fi connection error. Wrong Wi-Fi SSID/password combination, trying to connect
to WEP or open Wi-Fi, or your router is not supporting 2.4 GHz frequency and 802.11b/g/n
protocols.

http://support.bt.tn, under Solutions / FAQ.
b) RED SOLID RING after press.
Meaning: bttn not registered, no action defined for bttn, or action result was FAIL.
c) FLASHING RED AND GREEN when using mobile data:
Meaning: Connection error. See http://support.bt.tn for troubleshooting.
d) CIRCLING YELLOW when using mobile data:
Meaning: Your SIM may have PIN code query enabled. You must remove the PIN query. See
the step-by-step setup guide at!https://my.bt.tn/gettingstarted.
e) FLASHING YELLOW RING, with or without a RED LED:
Meaning: Boot error. Usually happens when batteries have too little energy left for starting
the bttn. Please try inserting a new set of batteries or use micro-USB power adapter. Do not
use rechargeable batteries.

ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY (AUP)
Customer's Legal Compliance. The Customer must comply with applicable laws and regulations. For
example, the Customer must have necessary rights to use the content which has been uploaded in the
bt.tn service (“Services”) by or on behalf of the Customer.
Illegal or Offensive Use of Service. The Customer is not entitled to use the Services for purposes which
The Button Corporation deems to be illegal or offensive. If the Customer is uncertain whether or not its
use of the Services could be deemed illegal or offensive, the Customer should contact The Button
Corporation in advance and request permission. For example, The Button Corporation considers the
following actions or content to be illegal or offensive:
1. Use of the Services in connection with fraudulent activities
2. Storage or transfer of, or linking to, content that violates trade secrets, copyrights, trademarks,
patents, or other intellectual property rights, or contributes to the said violations
3. Storage or transfer of, or linking to, content that is harassing or excessively violent, inciting to hate
or violence, or threatening with violence
4. Storage or transfer of, or linking to child pornography or content containing non-consensual sexual
acts
5. Promotion of illegal material or products
6. Unauthorized access to, or attempting to access, systems, networks or data
7. Use of a user account or computing without the owner's authorization
8. Collection of user information such as email addresses without the consent of the person identified
(phishing)
9. Using the Services for promoting or aiding terrorism, violence or libel and slander.
Mass Emailing. If the Customer wishes to use the Services for sending of bulk e-mail or other mass
communications, the Customer must first receive The Button Corporation's written consent.
Disruptive Use of Services. The Customer may use, investigate, and modify the operating environment
of the Services only within the limits of the user instructions. The Customer may not use the Services in
any way that causes security risks to the Service or interferes with the operation of the Services.
Right to monitor and intercept messages. The Button Corporation has a right to technically monitor
messages sent using the Services and intercept before delivery those that are of nature against this AUP
or against public policy in the Republic of Finland (ordre public).

Tip: Use power switch to turn bttn
off when transporting it or to save
