INTRODUCTION
Thi equipment will brew a half-gallon batch of coffee into an awaiting di pen er at the pu h of a button and
include a hot water faucet for allied beverage u e. It i only for indoor u e on a turdy counter or helf.

Bunn-O-Matic Corp. (“Bunn”) warrant the equipment manufactured by it to be commercially free from defect
in material and workman hip exi ting at the time of manufacture and appearing within one year from the date of
in tallation. In addition:
1.) Bunn warrant electronic circuit and/or control board to be commercially free from defect in material and
workman hip for two year from the date of in tallation.
2.) Bunn warrant the compre or on refrigeration equipment to be commercially free from defect in material
and workman hip for two year from the date of in tallation.
3.) Bunn warrant that the grinding burr on coffee grinding equipment will grind coffee to meet original factory
creen ieve analy i for three year from date of in tallation or for 30,000 pound of coffee, whichever come fir t.
Thi warranty doe not apply to any equipment, component or part that wa not manufactured by Bunn or that,
in Bunn’ judgement, ha been affected by mi u e, neglect, alteration, improper in tallation or operation, improper
maintenance or repair, damage or ca ualty.

ELECTRIC L REQUIREMENTS
C UTION - The brewer mu t be di connected from the power ource until pecified in Initial Set-Up.
Model 15 ha an attached cord et and require 2-wire grounded ervice rated 120 volt ac, 15 amp, ingle
pha e, 60 Hz.
Model 35 require 3-wire,
grounded ervice rated 120/208 or
120/240 volt ac, 20 amp, ingle
pha e, 60 Hz. Proceed a follow :

Electrical Hook-Up
C UTION – Improper electrical in tallation will damage electronic component .
1. An electrician mu t provide electrical ervice a pecified.
2. U ing a voltmeter, check the voltage and color coding of each conductor at the electrical ource.
3. Remove the rear panel.
4. Feed the cord through the train relief and connect it to the terminal block.
5. Connect the brewer to the power ource and verify the voltage at the terminal block before proceeding. Replace
the rear panel.
6. If plumbing i to be hooked up later be ure the brewer i di connected from the power ource. If plumbing
ha been hooked up, the brewer i ready for Initial Set-Up .
PLUMBING REQUIREMENTS
Thi brewer mu t be connected to a cold water y tem with operating pre ure between 20 and 90 p i (138
and 620 kPa) from a 1⁄2" or larger upply line. A hut-off valve hould be in talled in the line before the brewer. In tall
a regulator in the line when pre ure i greater than 90 p i (620 kPa) to reduce it to 50 p i (345 kPa). The water
inlet fitting i 1⁄4" flare.
NOTE - Bunn-O-Matic recommend 1⁄4" copper tubing for in tallation of le than 25 feet and 3⁄8" for more than
25 feet from the 1⁄2" water upply line. A tight coil of copper tubing in the water line will facilitate moving the brewer
to clean the countertop. Bunn-O-Matic doe not recommend the u e of a addle valve to in tall the brewer. The
ize and hape of the hole made in the upply line by thi type of device may re trict water flow.
This equipment must be installed to comply with the Basic Plumbing Code of the

1. Attach the flare fitting from the hort piece of tubing on the trainer
( upplied) to the water inlet fitting at the left rear of the brewer.
2. Flu h the water line and ecurely attach it to the flare fitting on the
trainer.
3. Turn on the water upply.
4. Place an empty ve el beneath the faucet and lift the handle until water
i di pen ed.
PLUMBING REQUIREMENTS (cont.)
INITI L SET-UP
C UTION - The brewer mu t be di connected from the power ource throughout the initial et-up, except when
pecified in the in truction .
1. In ert an empty funnel into the funnel rail .
2. Place an empty di pen er under the funnel.
3. Connect the brewer to the power ource, place the "ON/OFF" witch in the "ON" upper po ition, and momentarily
pre and relea e the tart witch. Water will begin flowing into the tank. When water top flowing into the
tank, initiate a econd, third and a fourth brew cycle. During the fourth brew cycle the tank will fill to it capacity
and the exce water will flow from the prayhead, out of the funnel, and into the di pen er.
4. When the flow of water from the funnel top , wait approximately twenty minute for the water in the tank to
heat to the proper temperature. Some water will drip from the funnel during thi time; thi i due to expan ion
and hould not occur thereafter.
5. Empty the di pen er and initiate another brew cycle.
6. Place the "ON/OFF" witch in the lower "OFF" po ition after water ha topped flowing from the funnel, and let
the water in the tank reheat to the proper temperature.
7. Place the "ON/OFF" witch in the "ON" upper po ition, and momentarily pre and relea e the tart witch. Check
the water volume in the di pen er after water ha topped flowing from the funnel. It hould be 64 ounce .
8. If not, adju t the brew timer a required. See Adju ting Brew Volume . Allow the water to reheat, tart, and
mea ure another brew cycle.
9. Repeat tep 8 until 64 oz water volume i achieved.
10. The brewer i now ready for u e in accordance with the coffee brewing in truction on the next page.
DJUSTING BREW VOLUMES
C UTION - Di connect the power ource from the brewer prior to the removal of any panel for the replacement
or adju tment of any component.
NOTE: Prior to etting or modifying batch ize , check that the brewer i connected to water upply, the tank i
properly filled, and a funnel and erver are in place.
1. Modifying batch sizes. To modify a batch volume, fir t check that the SET/LOCK witch i in the "SET"
po ition on the circuit board.
To increase a batch size. Pre and hold the START or BREW witch until three click are heard. Relea e the
witch (Failure to relea e the witch within two econd after the third click cau e the volume etting to be
aborted and previou volume etting will remain in memory) and pre it again one or more time . Each time
the witch i pre ed, two econd are added to the brew time period. Allow the brew cycle to fini h in order
to verify that the de ired volume ha been achieved.

To decrease a batch size. Pre and relea e the START or BREW witch once for every two- econd interval
to be removed from the total brew time period; then immediately pre and hold down the START or BREW
witch until three click are heard. Relea e the witch. (Failure to relea e the witch within two econd after
the third click cau e the volume etting to be aborted and previou volume etting will remain in memory).
Allow the brew cycle to fini h in order to verify that the de ired volume ha been achieved.
2. Setting batch sizes. To et a batch volume, fir t check that the SET/LOCK witch i in the "SET" po ition on
the circuit board. Pre and hold the START or BREW witch until three di tinct click are heard, and then
relea e the witch. (Failure to relea e the witch within two econd after the third click cau e the volume
etting to be aborted and previou volume etting will remain in memory). View the level of the liquid being
di pen ed. When the de ired level i reached, turn the ON/OFF witch to "OFF" (lower). The brewer remem-
ber thi volume and will continue to brew batche of thi ize until the volume etting procedure i repeated.
NOTE: When brewing coffee, batch volume will decrea e due to ab orption by the coffee ground .
3. Setting programming disable feature. If it become nece ary to prevent anyone from changing brew time
once programmed, you can et the SET/LOCK witch to the "LOCK" po ition. Thi will prevent any program-
ming to be done until witch i once again placed in the "SET" po ition.
OPER TING CONTROLS
ON/OFF SWITCH
Placing the "ON/OFF" witch in the "OFF" lower po ition top brewing. Stopping a brew cycle after it ha been
tarted will not top the flow of water into the funnel until the tank yphon down to it proper level. Placing the
witch in the "ON" upper po ition upplie power to the brew circuit.
ST RT SWITCH
Momentarily pre ing and relea ing the witch tart a brew cycle when the "ON/OFF" witch i in the "ON" upper
po ition.
NOTE – The "ON/OFF" witch mu t be in the "ON" upper po ition to initiate and complete a brew cycle.
COFFEE BREWING
1. In ert a BUNN® filter into the funnel.
2. Pour the fre h coffee into the filter and level the bed of ground by gently haking.
3. Slide the funnel into the funnel rail .
4. Place an empty di pen er beneath the funnel.
5. Place the "ON/OFF" witch in the "ON" upper po ition. Momentarily pre and relea e the tart witch.
6. When brewing i completed, imply di card the ground and filter.
CLE NING
1. The u e of a damp cloth rin ed in any mild, non-abra ive, liquid detergent i recommended for cleaning all
urface on Bunn-O-Matic equipment.
2. Check and clean the prayhead. The prayhead hole mu t alway remain open.
3. With the prayhead removed, in ert the deliming pring (provided) all the way into the prayhead tube. When
in erted properly, no more than two inche of pring hould be vi ible. Saw back and forth five or ix time .
NOTE – In hard water area , thi may need to be done daily. It will help prevent liming problem in the brewer
and take le than a minute.

TROUBLESHOOTING
A trouble hooting guide i provided to ugge t probable cau e and remedie for the mo t likely problem
encountered. If the problem remain after exhau ting the trouble hooting tep , contact the Bunn-O-Matic
Technical Service Department.
• In pection, te ting, and repair of electrical equipment hould be performed only by qualified ervice per onnel.
• All electronic component have 120 volt ac and low voltage dc potential on their terminal . Shorting of
terminal or the application of external voltage may re ult in board failure.
• Intermittent operation of electronic circuit board i unlikely. Board failure will normally be permanent. If an
intermittent condition i encountered, the cau e will likely be a witch contact or a loo e connection at a
terminal or crimp.
• Solenoid removal require interrupting the water upply to the valve. Damage may re ult if olenoid are
energized for more than ten minute without a upply of water.
• The u e of two wrenche i recommended whenever plumbing fitting are tightened or loo ened. Thi will help
to avoid twi t and kink in the tubing.
• Make certain that all plumbing connection are ealed and electrical connection tight and i olated.
• Thi brewer i heated at all time . Keep away from combu tible .
W RNING – • Exerci e extreme caution when ervicing electrical equipment.
• Unplug the brewer when ervicing, except when electrical te t are pecified.
• Follow recommended ervice procedure

Te t Procedure :
1. Di connect the brewer from the power ource.
2. With a voltmeter, check the voltage acro the
blue/black wire on the control thermo tat and the
white wire on the power cord for 120 volt model
15 or the white in ert on the terminal block for two
wire 120 volt model 20, three wire 120/208 or 120/
240 volt model and the red in ert on two wire 200

to the power ource. The indication mu t be:
a) 120 volt ac for two wire 120 volt model , three
wire 120/208 or 120/240 volt model .
b) 200 to 240 volt ac for two wire 200 or 240 volt
model .
3. Di conned the brewer from the power ource.
If voltage i pre ent a de cribed, proceed to #4.
If voltage i not pre ent a de cribed, refer to the
Wiring Diagram and check the wiring harne .
4. Gently remove the capillary bulb and grommet
from the tank.
5. With a voltmeter, check the voltage acro the
black wire of the control thermo tat and the white
wire on the power cord for 120 volt two wire model
15, the white in ert for two wire 120 volt model 20,
three wire 120/208 or 120/240 volt terminal block
and the red in ert on the two pole 200 volt or 240
volt terminal block when the control thermo tat i
turned "ON" (Fully clockwi e). Connect the brewer

to the power ource. The indication mu t be:
a) 120 volt ac for two wire 120 volt model , three
wire 120/208 and 120/240 volt model .
b) 200 to 240 volt ac for two wire 200 volt or 240
volt model .
6. Di connect the brewer from the power ource.
If voltage i pre ent a de cribed, rein tall the capillary
tube into the tank to the line 4.5" above the bulb, the
control thermo tat i operating properly.
If voltage i not pre ent a de cribed, replace the
thermo tat.
Removal and Replacement:
1. Remove wire from control thermo tat.
2. Remove the thermo tat capillary bulb by firmly
pulling up on the capillary at the tank lid. Thi will
di engage the grommet from the tank lid.
3. Remove the one #6-32 crew ecuring the control
thermo tat to the mounting bracket in the hood.
4. Slide the grommet to the line 4.5" above the bulb
on the new capillary tube.
5. In ert the capillary bulb through the hole in the
tank lid and pre the grommet firmly and evenly
o that the groove in the grommet fit into the tank
lid.
6. Carefully bend the capillary tube o that the tube
and bulb in ide the tank are in the vertical po ition.
NOTE - The capillary tube mu t be clear of any electri-
cal termination and not kinked.
7. U ing one #6-32 crew ecure the control thermo-
tat to the mounting bracket in ide the hood.
8. Refer to Fig. 3 when reconnecting the wire .
9. Adju t the control thermo tat a required.

The limit thermo tat i located in ide the hood on
the tank lid.
Te t Procedure :
1. Di connect the brewer from the power ource.
2. Di connect the blue/black and black wire from
the limit thermo tat.
3. With an ohmmeter, check for continuity acro the
limit thermo tat terminal .
If continuity i pre ent a de cribed, the limit thermo-
tat i operating properly.
If continuity i not pre ent a de cribed, replace the

Removal and Replacement:

ON/OFF SWITCH
Location:
The ON/OFF witch i located on the left front of
the hood.
Te t Procedure:
1. Di connect the brewer from the power ource.
2. Viewing the witch from the back remove the
white wire or red wire from the upper terminal and
the black wire from the center terminal.
3. With a voltmeter, check the voltage acro the
white wire or red wire and the black wire. Connect
the brewer to the power ource. The indication
mu t be:
a) 120 volt ac for two wire 120 volt model , three
wire 120/208 or 120/240 volt model .
b) 200 to 240 volt ac for two wire 200 or 240 volt
model .
4. Di connect the brewer from the power ource.
If voltage i pre ent a de cribed, reconnect the white
or red wire and proceed to #5.
If voltage i not pre ent a de cribed, refer to the
Wiring Diagram and check the brewer wiring har-
ne .
5. With the black wire removed, remove the white/
red wire from the lower terminal.
6. Check for continuity acro the center and lower
terminal with the witch in the "ON" po ition.
Continuity mu t not be pre ent when the witch i
in the "OFF" po ition.
If continuity i pre ent a de cribed, reconnect the
black wire to the center terminal and the white/red to
the lower terminal.
If continuity i not pre ent a de cribed, replace the
witch.
Removal and Replacement:
1. Remove the wire from the witch terminal .
2. Compre the clip in ide the hood and gently
pu h the witch through the opening.
3. Pu h the new witch into the opening and pread
the clip to hold witch in the hood.
4. Refer to Fig. 7 when reconnecting the wire .

SOLENOID V LVE
Location:
The olenoid valve i located in ide the bottom
right ide of the trunk mounted on the ba e.
Te t Procedure :
1. Di connect the brewer from the power ource.
2. Di connect the white/red and white/green wire
from the olenoid valve. With the "ON/OFF" witch
in the "ON" upper po ition pre the tart witch.
3. With a voltmeter, check the voltage acro the
white/red and white/green wire . Connect the
brewer to the power ource. The indication mu t
be:
a) 120 volt ac for two wire 120 volt model , three
wire 120/208 and 120/240 volt model .
b) 200 to 240 volt ac for two wire 200 or 240 volt
model .
4. Di connect the brewer from the power ource,
If voltage i pre ent a de cribed, proceed to #5.
If voltage i not pre ent a de cribed, refer to Wiring
Diagram and check brewer wiring harne .
5. Check for continuity acro the olenoid valve coil
terminal .
If continuity i pre ent a de cribed, reconnect the
white/red and white/green wire from the timer.
If continuity i not pre ent a de cribed, replace the
olenoid valve.
6. Check the olenoid valve for coil action. Connect
the brewer to the power ource. With "ON/OFF"
witch in the "ON" upper po ition pre tart witch
and li ten carefully in the vicinity of the olenoid
valve for a "clicking" ound a the coil magnet
attract .
7. Di connect the brewer from the power ource.
If the ound i heard a de cribed and water will not
pa through the olenoid valve, there may be a
blockage in the water line before the olenoid valve, or
the olenoid valve may require in pection for wear,
and removal of waterborne particle .
If the ound i not heard a de cribed, replace the
olenoid valve.
Removal and Replacement:
1. Remove the white/red and white/green wire from
the olenoid valve.
2. Turn off the water upply to the brewer.
3. Di connect the water line to and from the ole-
noid valve.
4. Remove the two #8-32 nut ecuring the olenoid
mounting bracket to the ba e. Remove olenoid
bracket and olenoid valve a an a embly.
5. Remove the two #10-32 crew and lockwa her
ecuring the olenoid valve to the olenoid bracket.
6. U ing two #10-32 crew and lockwa her in tall
new olenoid valve on olenoid mounting bracket.
7. U ing two #8-32 nut in tall olenoid valve and
bracket to the ba e of the brewer.
8. Securely fa ten the water line to and from the
olenoid valve.
9. Refer to Fig. 9 when reconnecting the wire .

Te t Procedure:
1. Di connect the brewer from the power upply.
2. Di connect the white/orange wire from the top

3. Check for continuity acro the two terminal on
the witch when it i held in the lower po ition.
Continuity mu t not be pre ent acro the e ter-
minal in the upper po ition.
If continuity i pre ent a de cribed, reconnect the

yellow wire to the bottom terminal.

Te t Procedure :
1. Di connect the brewer from the power upply.
2. With a voltmeter, check the voltage acro the
black and white wire on 120 volt model or the

model , 200 volt model and 240 volt model .
Connect the brew to the power ource. The indica-
tion mu t be:
a) 120 volt ac for two wire 120 volt model .
b) 208 volt ac for three wire 120/208 and 240
volt ac for three wire 120/240 volt model .
c) 200 to 240 volt ac for two wire 200 or 240 volt
model .
3. Di connect the brewer from the power ource.
If voltage i pre ent a de cribed, proceed to #4.
If voltage i not pre ent a de cribed, refer to the
Wiring Diagram and check wiring harne .
4. Di connect the black wire and the white wire or red
wire from the tank heater terminal .
5. Check for continuity acro the tank heater termi-

Removal and Replacement
1. Shut off water upply to the brewer.
2. Di connect the water upply tube on the tank lid
for the tank and the faucet coil a embly.
3. Di connect the blue/black wire from the limit ther-
mo tat to the control thermo tat.
4. Di connect the black wire and the white or red wire
from the tank heater terminal .
5. Remove prayhead and the hex nut ecuring the
prayhead tube to the hood. Set a ide for rea -
embly.
6. Remove the eight #8-32 nut ecuring the tank lid
to the tank.
7. Remove the tank lid with limit thermo tat, pray-
head tube, tank heater and faucet coil a embly a
a a embly.
8 Remove the two hex nut ecuring the tank heater
to the tank lid. Remove tank heater with ga ket
and di card.
10. In tall new tank heater with ga ket on the tank lid
and ecure with two hex nut .
11. In tall tank lid with limit thermo tat, prayhead
tube, tank heater and faucet coil a embly u ing
eight #8-32 hex nut.
12. Reconnect the inlet and outlet water line to the
faucet coil a embly and the tank fill tube.
13. Secure payhead tube to hood u ing a hex nut.
14. In tall prayhead.
15. Reconnect the wire to the limit thermo tat, tank
heater and control thermo tat. See limit thermo-
tat and control thermo tat ection in thi manual
when reconnecting wire .
16. Refer to Fig. 13 when reconnecting the tank heater
wire .

Location:

Te t Procedure.
1. Di connect the brewer from the power ource.
2. Rotate the brew timer dial fully counterclockwi e.
3. With a voltmeter, check the voltage acro termi-
nal TL1 & TL2 (white or red and white/red wire )
when the "ON/OFF" witch i in the "ON" upper
po ition. Connect the brewer to the power ource.
The indication mu t be:
a) 120 volt ac for two wire 120 volt model and
three wire 120/208 or 120/240 volt model .
b) 200 to 240 volt ac on two wire 200 volt or 240
volt model .
4. Di connect the brewer from the power ource.
If voltage i pre ent a de cribed, proceed to #5.
If voltage i not pre ent a de cribed, refer to the

If voltage i pre ent a de cribed, the brew timer i
operating properly. Re et the timer dial a required, to
obtain the de ired brew volume.
If voltage i not pre ent a de cribed, replace the
timer.
Removal and Replacement:
1. Di connect all the wire from the timer board
terminal .
2. Remove the circuit board and dial plate from the
bracket .
3. In tall new timer circuit board a de cribed in Late
Model Timer ection on the following page .
4. Refer to Fig. 17 when reconnecting the wire .
5. In tall the timer etting decal, provided with the
replacement kit, underneath the top cover of the
brewer.
6. Readju t the timer a required.
