Congratulations on your purchase of the B80 Mothership. There are a few
simple things you must do before you can ROCK!
*YOU MUST REGISTER YOUR B80 AT BURLAUDIO.COM/SUPPORT FOR YOUR WARRANTY
TO BE VALID. WE NEED TO KEEP YOU UP TO DATE WITH THE LATEST FIRMWARE*
*PLEASE NOTE THAT FACEPLATE COLOR MAY VARY
SLIGHTLY FROM RUN TO RUN*
STEP 1 INSTALL CARDS.
Unless you have more than 24in/32out, card slot 1 is for your rst
BAD4 card and slot 7 is for your rst BDA8 card.
*See gures 1-5, and pages 6 and 7 for card placement and channel
assignment to congure your system.
Make sure the top and botttom of each card are inserted into the card guides.

STEP 2 ATTACH POWER CABLE AND RIBBON CABLE TO FACEPLATE.
-The red wire should be closest to the orange power
connector for all faceplates.
-There are two revisions of faceplates. We added
a shrouded header to the faceplates and cards to
eliminate confusion. (See gures 4a-4d next page)
-Always make sure the orange 2 pin connector is
attached properly. Verify orientation.

to you with the wire
assemblies already
attached to the
daughter cards
(see Figure 6)
Please verify
orientation.

*Rev A faceplate: Make sure
ribbon cable is connected to
all pins.
*Rev B faceplates have a
shrouded header to ensure
proper connection.
Also note if your card has Rev A/ Rev 1 or Rev B

When using B80 internal clock, set the CLOCK CONTROL to
DAW, which allows Pro Tools to change sample rate. If
using external clock, set to EXT.

STEP 5 SET MOTHERBOARD TO DAW FOR USE WITH PRO TOOLS.

STEP 4 CONNECT DIGILINK PORT 1 TO CORE CARD. Each
Digilink Port on the BMB1 can run up to 32 ins/outs. If
you have 32 ins/outs or less, you only need to use port 1.
If you have more than 32 ins/outs, use ports 1 and 2.
Both ports on the BMB1 are primary ports.

OPTIONAL BP250 FAN CALIBRATION
You may adjust the thermostat for the fans of the BP250 if noise is an issue. To
adjust the thermostat, remove BP250 lid. Locate calibration pot and adjust as in
Figure 8.b, if desired. The BP250 is factory set to 1.2 VDC @ room temperature
across the black and red fan wires. Higher fan speeds will ensure longer lasting
electronics.
