• Any electrical work that is required to install this
appliance MUSTbe carried out by a qualified electrician.
• Before making any electrical connections,ensure the

• Do not bend,stretch or pull the supply cable in order to
avoid electric shock.
• The supply voltage should be the same as that indicated
in the technical specifications and the appliance rating
plate.
• When installed,the power socket must be within easy
reach.
• If the socket outlets in your home are not suitable for
the plug supplied with this unit check with a qualified
electrician for replacement.
• The use of multiple connectors or extension cables are
not recommended.
• The appliance must be connected to a 100-240 volt
50/60Hz AC supply by means of a three pin socket.
• The main plug is used as the disconnect device,the
disconnect device shall remain readily operable.
• In order to disconnect the apparatus from the mains
completely, switch off the outlet and remove the mains
plug completely.

Battery installation (backup only)
1: Remove the battery compartment cover (14) from the
bottom of the unit.By pressing the tab inwards (in the
direction of the engraved arrow) and lifting.
2: Insert 2x AAA batteries into the compartment,taking
care to match the battery orientations marked on the
inside of the compartment.
3: Replace the battery compartment cover.
NOTE:Battery backup retains clock, presets &
alarm settings.
Mains power connection
1: Connect the mains plug (13) to a UK wall socket.
2: Switch the wall socket ON.
3: The unit will enter STANDBY mode after powering on.
Standby mode
Entering standby mode when the unit is not being
used will save energy.
1: To enter STANDBY mode press and hold the SOURCE/
ALARM OFF/STANDBY button (12).Press again to
wake.
NOTE:Programmed alarms will still sound when
in STANDBY mode.

Setting the time
The clock setting must be performed while in
STANDBY mode.
1: Ensure the mains power is connected and powered
ON.
2: Enter STANDBY mode (see page 3) if not already.
3: Press and hold the CLOCK/MEM button (6) for 1
second,until the clock digits on the display flash.
4: Use the TUNE+/HR button (8) to adjust the HOUR
digits,and the TUNE-/MIN button (7) to adjust the
MINUTE digits.
5: When finished press the CLOCK/MEM button (6) to
store the setting.
Setting the alarms
The alarm settings must be performed while in
STANDBY mode.
1: Ensure the mains power is connected and powered
ON.
2: Enter STANDBY mode (see page 3) if not already.
3: Press either VOL+/AL1 (ALARM1) (11) or VOL-/AL2
(ALARM 2) (10) button.The display flashes and a red
dot appears behind the AL1 or AL2 indicator on the
display.
4: Use the TUNE+/HR button (8) to adjust the HOUR
digits,and the TUNE-/MIN button (7) to adjust the
MINUTE digits.

5: Press the VOL+/AL1 button (11) or VOL-/AL2 button
(10) once more to store the setting.
6:The red dot will remain behind the AL1 or AL2
indicators to denote ALARM1 or 2is active.
7: After programming the alarm time you will need to set
the alarm type.
Press the VOL+/AL1 (ALARM1) (11) or VOL-/AL2
(ALARM 2) (10) repeatedly to cycle through the
available options of:- BUZZER, RADIO or OFF (to
disable the alarm).Each press moves the red dot
on the display to the mode selected.When you find
the option you wish to use simply leave all buttons
untouched for 2seconds to activate that option.

NOTE:The default alarm mode is BUZZER.
When the red dot disappears the alarm is no
longer active.

8:To stop the alarm sounding press the SOURCE/
ALARM OFF/STANDBY button (12).
9:To disable the alarm OFF, follow step 7.
NOTE:When setting an alarm to radio mode,the
last used volume level & station will be used.The
buzzer volume is not adjustable.
Snooze mode
When the alarm sounds, you may wish to delay the
alarm. Follow the below steps to activate the SNOOZE
function and delay the alarm for 9 minutes.
1: When the alarm is sounding press the SNOOZE /
SLEEP button (5) to activate the snooze function.
You will see a red dot flash behind the AL1 or AL2
indicator, depending on which alarm was sounding.

2: To disable the SNOOZE function at any time or to
cancel the alarm when it sounds next press the
SOURCE/ALARM OFF/STANDBY button (12).
Sleep timer
Should you wish to set a timer for the radio to enter
STANDBY mode follow the below steps.
1: Ensure the mains power is connected and powered
ON.
2: Tune to a radio station (page 5 (if not already)).

3: Press the SLEEP button (5) to cycle through the
available time duration presets eg:- 90, 80, 70, 60,
50, 40, 30, 20, 10 & OFF. When you have selected the
duration you require leave all buttons alone for 2
seconds to activate the countdown timer.
4: When the timer expires the unit will enter STANDBY
mode.
Volume controls
1: To increase the volume level press the VOL+/AL1
button (11).
2: You will see numeric digits appear on the display to
indicate the volume level 0(lowest) - 16 (highest).
3: To decrease the volume level press the VOL-/AL2
button (10).
Radio operation
1: Ensure the mains power is connected and powered
ON,and the ANTENNA is extended (4).
2: Pressing the SOURCE/ALARM OFF/STANDBY button
(12) repeatedly switches between FM & MW modes.
3: After selecting the frequency band you will need to
tune a station.Press and hold the TUNE-/MIN button
(7) or TUNE+/HR button (8) to begin scanning up or
down the frequency range of the selected band.
4: To fine tune the frequency you can press the TUNE-/
MIN button (7) or TUNE+/HR button (8) to skip
0.1Mhz increments.
Saving & recalling presets
You can store up to 10 radio stations in preset
locations for FM & MW.
1: When you have tuned to a radio station you wish to
store as a preset, press & hold the CLOCK/MEM
button (6).You will see ‘P--’ flash on the display (‘--’
denotes the preset location number).

2: Each time you press & hold the CLOCK/MEM button
(6) the current station will be stored to the next preset
number. For example,you have saved a station to
preset 1. The next time you press & hold the CLOCK/
MEM button the station will be stored in P02 (preset
2).
3: To recall a station saved to a preset location,press the
CLOCK/MEM button (6) repeatedly to cycle through
the preset locations 1-10.When you have selected
the preset location you require the station will auto
tune after 1second.
Display brightness
There are two options for setting the display brightness.
1: Press the DIMMER button (9) repeatedly to cycle
between bright and dim.
NOTE: In Standby mode increasing the brightness
only lasts for 3 minutes before dimming once
more.

• All care and cleaning operations should be carried out
with the unit unplugged from the mains power.
• Occasionally wipe the cabinet with a lint free duster.
