BBTVDVDPlayer with Night Vision
User Manual
Please read this manual before operating the BBTV Camera and keep
it handy.
The BBTVDVDPlayer
Your purchase should include:
1 x BBTVDVDPlayer
1 x Remote Control for camera (pictured right)
1 x AV-3.5mm RCA connection cable
1 x RCA cable for dvd player
1 x 1 DVD player remote (not pictured)
Bush Baby TV Remote control
The BBTV remote is required to operate the
camera portion of the DVD player. The
functioning of the camera is separate from
the standard DVD player and features. All
options and settings for the BBTV are set
using an on screen menu system controlled
with this remote.
OPERATION OF THE BBTVDVDPlayer
Before operating the device, please
familiarize yourself with the location of
important components.
SD card Slot –found on the back of the unit
towards the left side. It is between the
Power cable and the standard RCA inputs.
Camera TV Output –Can be found directly
to the right of the RCA and Component
Video connections. It is a black 3.5mm connection that fits the 3.5mm
“headphone”connection found on the 3.5mm to RCA cable included
with your device.
Indicator Light –When recording, a red indicator light will appear on
the front right of the DVD player, directly next to the power button.
This red light will only be illuminated when video is recording.
Basic Operation
1. Insert an SD card in to the SD card slot. There will be some
spring resistance and it will click in to place.
2. Plug in the power cable to a wall outlet

3. Once plugged in, the BBTV will power on, and after booting is
finished, the camera will automatically being recording in
motion detection mode.
4. Night Vision is automatically activated when needed.
Please note: There is no need to power on the DVD player using the
power button on the front of the device. The camera is separate from
the normal DVD player functions.
BBTV Menu System
The BBTV menu system gives you access to all the settings and
options you may need for your specific situation.
1. Connect the 3.5mm to RCA connection cable to the
connection port on the back of the DVD player.
2. Connect the other end of the cable in to the RCA connection
on your television.
Be sure that the color of the connection matches the color of the
port, otherwise you will not have a video signal
3. Change the channel on your television to the input you
connected the BBTV video connection cable to. If you are
unsure of how to do this, refer to your television’s owner’s
manual for specific instructions.
4. When everything is properly connected, you will see a live
camera view as well as icons along the bottom row.
5. When video is being recorded, a rotating white and red circle
is displayed in the bottom left of the display.
6. To access the menu system, press the “Menu/OK”button on
the BBTV remote.
Please note: when video is being recorded, you may see a small delay
when pressing a button on the remote and seeing the corresponding
action on the screen. This is normal operation.
Menu Navigation
To select a menu option, press the “Menu/OK”button
To move up and down between selections, press the “Up”and
“Down”arrow buttons
To Change the value of a currently selected option, press the
“Left”or “Right”arrow keys
To go back to the previous menu, press the “Back/Stop”
button
The following menu options are available:
Search and Play –allows you to browse through recorded
video based on date or time.
Set Date/Time –Allows you to set the date and time, as well
as including customer options for Day Light Saving Time.
Set Motion Detect –Allows adjustment of the motion
sensitivity (scale of 0 –10, with 10 being most sensitive)
oOptions for setting the motion detect area are also
available. This allows you to have certain areas ignored
by the motion detection. (ex. fans, curtains, etc.)
Manual Record –Gives you video settings for manual
recording.
Schedule Record –Allows you to set up the schedule that
determines how and how often video is recorded. By default,
this is set for motion detection 24 hours per day.

oClock icon –manual recording
oMegaphone icon –alarm recording (unused on this
device)
oRed “X”and box icon –no recording
oStar icon –unused on this device
SD Card Options –lets you format or safely unmounts the SD
card, displays SD card information, and also has the option for
how video is recorded when the SD card is full.
oLoop –The oldest video will be deleted to make room
for new videos.

oStop –When the SD card is full, video will stop being
recorded.
System –Give you basic system information as well as settings
saving, restoring, or system defaults.
Status –Basic system information.
REVIEW THE FILES ON YOUR PC (Optional)
1. Remove the SD card from the BBTV device
2. Insert the SD card into the SD card reader on your computer
3. Locate “Removable Disk” inside the (My) Computer folder
AutoPlay Removable Disk > Open folder to view files
Or…
Go to Start > Computer > Removable Disk
4. Open the Removable Disk drive
5. Open the “dvr”folder
6. Double click the file you want to view to start playing the
video. The files are named by time recorded, with a suffix
indicating how they were recorded (MD means Motion
Detection)
If you are having video playback issues such as completely black
video or “squiggly lines”, we recommend you use VLC media player
to play back the videos. It can be downloaded for free from
www.videolan.org
TROUBLESHOOTING
THE DEVICE HAS CRASHED
1. If available, reset the device to factory defaults in the menu
system. Alternatively, unplug the device for 3 minutes.
NEW VIDEOS ARE NOT BEING RECORDED
1. Format the card using the menu system.
2. Double check your record and schedule settings.
