CAUTION
When replacing your Perfect Descent line, you should take specied
precautions to prevent the line from twisting inside the housing. You
should also ensure that when the line is detached at the joint, the free
end will not escape inside the housing under the force of the retracing
spring. Please read and understand all instructions provided BEFORE
you begin line replacement. Failure to follow specied precautions may
result in damage to the Perfect Descent and require factory service.

4. Secure the line by inserting a
Phillips head screwdriver between
the two layers of blue webbing
where indicated in Figure 4. To
prevent twisting it is important that
the webbing maintain its vertical
orientation (screwdriver oriented
vertically). The screwdriver will
prevent the joint from returning into
the housing during replacement.
Release the webbing, making
certain that the line is adequately
secured, and that the screwdriver
will not slip loose or rotate.
Place some duct tape across the
screwdriver and housing nose to
prevent the screwdriver and line
from twisting (Figure 5). If the

Descent will require factory repair.
A black mark should appear on
the upper portion of the web
(Figure 6). If not, the webbing
has become twisted. Untwist the
webbing by carefully examining the

rotating the webbing so the mark

CAUTION
A twisted line will result in the line dragging on the housing, impeding
retraction. If you suspect that the line has become twisted during the
replacement process, remove the Perfect Descent from use until the
unit can be returned to an authorized service center for repair.
