Please take a moment to read these instructions and keep them for future reference.

POWER SET UP
1. Insert 2 AAA alkaline batteries (not included) into
the backup battery compartment. The display will
run through a brief initialization process, then beep
once before flashing the default time, date and
temperature.
2. Plug the device into an AC outlet.
TURNING ON THE LAMP
• Tap any part of the aluminum strip. The lamp will
illuminate and rise.
• While the lamp is ON, touch and hold any part of
the aluminum strip. The lamp will DECREASE in
brightness.
• Touch and hold the aluminum strip again, and the
lamp will INCREASE in brightness.
• Tap any part of the aluminum strip. The lamp will
turn OFF and descend to its original position.
LISTENING TO SOOTHING SOUNDS
• Press the Sound button once to turn the
Soothing Sounds ON. Press again to turn the
Soothing Sounds OFF.
• Press the Sound button again to turn ON the
NEXT Soothing Sound.
• Repeat pressing the Sound button to cycle
through all five Soothing Sounds:
1. Chirping crickets + croaking frogs
2. Wave sounds + chirping birds
3. Wave sounds + gull sounds
4. A group of chirping birds
5. A quacking duck + a babbling brook
NOTE: The Sleep Timer turns OFF the Soothing
Sounds automatically after a specific number
of minutes. Press the TIMER button (“T”) to
choose 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or 60-minute play time.
After setting the Sleep Timer, you will see the
remaining time count down on the display. The
normal Time / Date / Temperature display will
resume in 15-20 seconds.
SETTING THE DATE AND TIME
To set the Date and Time, you will need to
program the following information in this order:
YEAR >> MONTH >> DATE >> HOUR >> MINUTE.
NOTE: Once the Date and Time are set, you may
select 12- or 24-hour time format by pressing
the UP button.
1. Press the SET button (“S”). The YEAR will flash.
Use the UP and DOWN buttons to set the YEAR.
Press the SET button again to confirm the YEAR
and move on to the next setting (MONTH).

• Once you are in Alarm Mode, press the SET button
and use the UP and DOWN buttons to set the
ALARM HOUR.
• Press the SET button again and use the UP and
DOWN buttons to set the ALARM MINUTE.
• Continue pressing the SET button and the
using UP and DOWN buttons to set the SNOOZE
INTERVAL (1-60 minutes) and the ALARM SOUND
(1-7).
NOTE: Alarm Sounds 1-5 are the Soothing Sounds
listed above. Alarm Sound 6 is a blend of all 5
Soothing Sounds. Alarm Sound 7 is a traditional
electronic beep.
• When the Alarm goes off, you will hear the Alarm
Sound you selected, and the light will ascend and
turn ON.
SILENCING THE ALARM / OPERATING
THE SNOOZE
• To silence the alarm, press the Sound button.
To turn the light OFF, tap any part of the
aluminum strip.
• If the Snooze function is activated, press the
Sound button ONCE to put the alarm in Snooze
Mode. (The letters “AL” will be flashing.) During
Snooze Mode, the alarm will turn OFF temporarily,
and then resume after the Snooze Interval which
you previously selected (see above).
• To turn the Snooze OFF, press the Sound button
again. The letters “AL” will be solid, indicating that
the Snooze is OFF.
CHANGING THE TEMPERATURE DISPLAY
• Press the DOWN button to switch between Celsius
and Fahrenheit display.
COLOR CHANGING NIGHTLIGHT
• Switch ON the Colorful Light switch on the back of
your device. When the room is dark, the LEDs will
create a pleasing cycle of alternating colors.
2. The MONTH will flash. Use the UP and DOWN
buttons to set the MONTH. Press the SET button
again to confirm the MONTH and move on to the
next setting (DATE).
3. The DATE will flash. Use the UP and DOWN
buttons to set the DATE. Press the SET button
again to confirm the DATE and move on to the
next setting (HOUR).
4. The HOUR will flash. Use the UP and DOWN
buttons to set the HOUR. Press the SET button
again to confirm the HOUR and move on to the
next setting (MINUTE).
5. The MINUTE will flash. Use the UP and DOWN
buttons to set the MINUTE. Press the SET
button again to confirm the MINUTE and finish
programming.
NOTE: Once the Date and Time are set, you may
select 12- or 24-hour time format by pressing the
UP button.
NOTE: If the display disappears, simply place the
device on a flat surface to make it reappear. There
is a pressure sensitive switch on the bottom that
must be pressed in order for the display to appear.
SETTING THE ALARM
1. Press the MODE button (“M”) to enter Alarm
Mode.
2. Press the UP button to cycle through the two
Alarm functions:
AL (solid) = Alarm is activated
AL (flashing) = Alarm is activated + Snooze
function activated
NOTE: If "AL" is not displayed, the Alarm is OFF.

VOICE CONTROL MODE (NIGHT MODE)
• The Sound Soother Alarm Clock with Nightlight
is equipped with Voice Control Mode designed
to help you sleep by turning off the display. To
activate Voice Control Mode, simply lay the clock
on its side (so that the words “Voice Control
Mode” are face up). In this mode, the display
screen will be DARK until the device detects a
voice or other loud noise (i.e., a clap or finger
snap).
• When the device detects a loud noise, the display
will turn ON for 10 seconds. During Voice Control
Mode, the device will also play nature sounds if
the time is between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
• To DISABLE the nature sounds for Voice Control
Mode, simply press the Set button (“S”) for two
seconds. Press “S” again to ACTIVATE nature
sounds for Voice Control Mode.
• To exit Voice Control Mode, return the clock to its
normal bottom-side-down position. The normal
Time / Date / Temperature display will resume.
