1. The salt container must only be refilled when the salt warning light in the control panel comes on.
Depending on how well thesalt dissolves, the salt warning light may still be on even though the
salt container is filled.
If there is no salt warning light in the control panel (forsome Models),you can estimate when to fill
the salt into the softener by the cycles that the dishwasherhas run.
2. If there are spills of the salt, a soak or a rapid program should be run to remove the excessivesalt.
Always use the salt intended for use with dishwasher.
The salt container is located beneath the lower basket and shouldbefilled as explained
inthe following:
Attention!
Only use salt specifically designed forthe use indishwashers! Every other type of
salt not specifically designed for theuse in a dishwasher, especially table salt, will
damage thewater softener. In case of damages caused by the use of unsuitable
salt the manufacturerdoes not give any warranty nor is liable for any damagescaused.
Only fill withsalt justbefore starting one of the complete washingprograms.
This will prevent anygrains of salt or salty water, which may have been spilled,
remaining on the bottom ofthe machinefor any periodof time, which maycause
corrosion.
The rinse aid isreleasedduring the final rinseto prevent water from forming droplets onyour dishes, which can
leave spots andstreaks. Italso improvesdryingby allowing water toroll offthe dishes. Your dishwasheris
designed touseliquidrinseaids. The rinseaid dispenser islocated inside the doornext to the detergentdispenser.
To fill the dispenser, open the cap and pour the rinse aid into the dispenser until the level indicator turns completely
black. The volume ofthe rinseaidcontainer is about 110ml.
RinseAid Dispenser
Function of RinseAid
Rinse aid is automaticallyadded during thelast rinse, ensuring thorough rinsing, and spotandstreakfree drying.
Attention!
Only use branded rinseaid for dishwasher. Never fill therinse aid dispenserwithanyother substances
(e.g. Dishwasher cleaning agent, liquid detergent). This would damage the appliance.
ARemove the lower basket and then unscrew andremovethe cap fromthesalt container.
BBefore thefirst wash, fill 1lt. of water in the salt container of your machine.
CPlace theend of thefunnel (supplied) into the hole and introduce about 1kg of salt.
DAfter filling the container , screw the cap tightly back clockwise.
EUsually, the salt warning light will stop being illuminated within 2-6 days afterthesalt containerhasbeen filled with
salt.
FImmediately after filling the salt into the salt container, a washing program should be started
program Otherwise the filter system, pump or other important parts of the machine may be damaged
bysalty water.This isoutofwarranty.
(Wesuggest to use the
soak orrapid ).

To open the dispenser, turn the cap to the "open" (left) arrow and lift it out.
Pourthe rinse aid intothe dispenser, being careful not to overfill.
Replace the cap by inserting italigned with "open" arrow and turning it to the closed (right) arrow.
Adjusting RinseAid Dispenser
The rinse aid dispenser has six or four settings. Always start with the dispenser
set on "4". If spots and poor drying are a problem, increase the amount of rinse
aid dispensedby removing the dispenser lidand rotating the dial to "5". If the
dishes still are not drying properly or are show spots, adjustthe dial to the next
higher lever until your dishes are spot-free. The recommended setting is "4".
(Factory value is "4".)
Increase the dose if there are drops of wateror limespots onthe dishes after washing.
Reduce it ifthere are sticky whitish stains on your dishes or abluish film on glasswareor

Proper Use ofDetergent
Use only detergent specificallymade for theusein dishwashers.Keep your detergent fresh and dry.
Don'tput powdereddetergentinto the dispenseruntilyou'reready towash dishes.
Dishwasher detergent is corrosive! Takecare to keepit out of reach of children.
Based ontheir chemical composition, detergentscanbe splitintwo basic types:
The use of normal washingprograms incombination with concentrated detergents
reduces pollution and is good for your dishes; these wash programsare specifically matched
to the dirt-dissolving properties of the enzymes of the concentrated detergent. For this reason
normal wash programsin whichconcentrated detergentsareused canachieve the same
results that can otherwise onlybe achieved using intensive programs.

Detergent tabletsof different brands dissolve at different speeds. For this reasonsome
detergenttablets cannot dissolve and develop theirfull cleaning power during short
programs. Therefore please use long programs whenusingdetergent tablets, to
ensure the complete removal of detergent residuals.
The dispenser must be refilled before the start ofeach washcycle following the instructions
provided in the wash cycle table . Yourdishwasher usesless detergent and rinse aid than
Conventionaldishwasher.Generally, only one tablespoon of detergent is neededfor
anormal washload. Moreheavily soileditemsneed more detergent.Alwaysaddthe
detergentjust before starting the dishwasher, otherwise it couldget damp and will not
dissolve properly.

Normally new pulverised detergent is without phosphate. Thus the water softener function of
phosphate is not given. In this case we recommend to fill salt in the salt containereven when
the hardness of water is only 6 dH. If detergents without phosphate are used in the case of hard water
often white spots appear on dishes and glasses. In this case please add more detergent to reach
better results. Detergents without chlorine do only bleach a little. Strongand coloured spots will not
be removed completely.Inthis case pleasechoose a program with a higher temperature.

Forparticular items, select aprogramwithas low a temperature aspossible.
To prevent damage, do not take glassandcutlery out of the dishwasher immediately
after the programmehas ended.
(For best performance of the dishwasher, follow these loading guidelines.
Features and appearance of baskets and cutlerybaskets may vary from your model.)
Scrape off any largeamounts ofleftover food. Soften remnants of burnt food in pans.
It is not necessary to rinse thedishesunder running water.
Place objects in the dishwasher in following way:
1.Items such ascups, glasses, pots/pans, etc. are faced downwards.

3.All utensils are stacked securely and can not tipover.
4.All utensils are placed in the way that the spray arms can rotate freely duringwashing.
Very small items should not be washed in the dishwasher as they could easily fall out of the basket.
To prevent water dripping from the upper basket into the lower basket, we recommend thatyou
empty the lower basket first and then the upper basket.

The upperbasket isdesigned tohold more delicate andlighter dishware suchas glasses, coffee

Cutlery should be placed in the cutlery basket with the handles at the bottom. If the rack has side baskets, the
spoons should be loaded separately into the appropriate slots, especially long utensils shouldbeplacedin the
horizontal position at the front ofthe upperbasket as shown in the picture.
Folding Spikes of Lower Basket
For better stacking ofpots and pans,
the spikes can be folded down as
show in the picture right.
Do not let any item extend through the bottom.
Always loadsharp utensils with the sharp point down!
Adjusting the Upper Basket
The height of the upper basketcanbe adjusted in order to create more space for large utensils
both for the upper/lower basket. The height of the upper basket canbe adjusted by placing the
wheels on different height of the rails. Long items, serving cutlery, salad servers and knives
should be placed on the shelfso that they do not obstruct the rotationof the spray arms.
The shelf can be folded back or be removed when not required for use.
