oPress the <D> button to raise
the built-in ash, then shoot.
A Mode
oIf necessary, the built-in ash will be red automatically in
low-light or backlit conditions.

Viewnder Information
All the settings necessary for
shooting are set automatically.
You just press the shutter button,
and the camera does the rest.
You can change the camera
settings as desired to shoot in
various ways.
* Set the <R> switch to the left (Multi
function lock released).
oSet the Mode Dial to <d>.
oWhen focus is achieved, the camera automatically sets the
shutter speed and aperture as in the <A> mode.
s: Shutter-priority AE
oSet the Mode Dial to <s>.
oTurn the <6> dial to set the
desired shutter speed, then
focus on the subject.
XThe aperture will be set automatically.
oI
f the aperture display blinks, turn the
<

> dial until it stops blinking.
oSet the lens’s focus mode switch
to <f>.
oPress the <o> button, then
turn the <6> dial.
X(One-Shot AF):
For still subjects
9(AI Focus AF):
Switches the AF operation
automatically
Z(AI Servo AF):
For moving subjects
oPress the <m> button,
then turn the <6> dial.
oISO 100 to ISO 16000 can be
set in 1/3-stop increments.
oWhen “A” is selected, the ISO
speed is set automatically.
When you press the shutter
button halfway, the ISO speed
setting will be displayed.
oSet the switch to <A>.
oPress the <0> button, and the
image will appear on the LCD
monitor.
oPress the shutter button halfway
to focus, then press it completely
to take the picture.
oPress the <0> button to exit
the Live View shooting.
oSet the switch to <k>.
XThe image will appear on the
LCD monitor.
oLook through the viewnder
and press the <S> button.
oUse the <p> or <B>
button.
XEach time you operate it,
the AF area selection mode
changes. oPress the shutter button
halfway to focus.
oPress the <0> button to start
shooting a movie.
oTo stop movie shooting, press
the <0> button again.
oTo shoot still photos, press the
shutter button completely.
oMovie shooting modes
• <A/d/F> : Autoexposure shooting
• <s> : Shutter-priority AE shooting
• <f>: Aperture-priority AE shooting
• <a>: Manual exposure shooting
oPress the <S> button, then
look through the viewnder.
oThe AF point selection will
