BURNER GAS CONSUMPTION
The main user manual provi es burner consumption in BTU’s using US gas rates. For the gas consumption in MJ/h

GAS TYPE
The Capital range of barbecues comes preset for either LPG (2.75kPa) or Natural Gas (1.0kPa). Please refer to the
ata plate for etails of burner jet sizes an gas consumption. It is imperative that you confirm the gas type available
to the location prior to installing. Allowing the barbecue to be connecte to the wrong gas type can cause a serious
fire an /or health hazar .
GENERAL INSTALLATION NOTES
These installation instructions have been prepare for use by authorise persons. This unit must be installe only by
an authorise person.
This barbecue must be installe in accor ance with the requirements of local authorities, gas, electricity an any
other statutory regulations, as well as the latest publishe versions of the following stan ar s:
o AS/NZS 5601 Gas Installation co e
o SAA Wiring Rules
CLEARANCES
Ensure the following minimum clearances to combustible materials:
o 300mm from the si es
o 900mm above the hotplate
GAS INLET CONNECTION

Gas inlet connection is via a stainless steel brai e hose with an inlet nut locate at the rear of the unit, on the far
right bottom corner. There is approximately 250mm vertical an horizontal play in the final position of the inlet.

FLEXIBLE HOSE
If a flexible hose is use to connect to the inlet, it shoul be as short as possible with a maximum length of 1.5
metres;
o The flexible connection must be approve to class B or D of AS/NZS1869 as a minimum.
o it shoul not be bent, kinke or compresse ;
o it shoul not be in contact with the rear wall of the appliance or in any case with parts which may reach a
temperature of 50°C;
o it shoul not come into contact with pointe parts or sharp corners;
o it shoul not be subject to any pulling or twisting forces;
o it shoul be easy to inspect along its entire length in or er to be able to check its con ition.
o The supply connection point must be accessible with the appliance installe .
o The inner iameters of the pipe are as follows:
8 mm for LPG;
13 mm for Natural Gas.
Ensure that the gap between the probe an the surface of the rear burner is 3mm.

BARBECUE OPERATION
CONTROL KNOBS
The cooktop knobs are marke OFF, HI AND LO. Do not allow any burner to operate with the knob between OFF an
HI.
TURNING ON
Lighting the Grill Burner
Note: Open the grill li before lighting. Turn all knobs to “OFF”. Turn the main gas supply on. If you smell
gas, shut‐off the gas supply an call for service.
1. Press an hol the selecte burner knob an turn it to “HIGH” while continuing the hol the
knob presse in. You will hear the burner igniter begin to make a clicking soun
2. The burner will ignite within 4‐5 secon s. When the burner is lit the clicking soun will stop.
3. Continue to hol the knob presse in for 5‐10 secon s. This allows the safety system to heat an
sense the burner flame an remain lit.
4. If the knob is release before the safety system is hot the flame will extinguish. If this occurs,
restart the lighting process at Step 1
5. If the burner oes not ignite within 5 secon s an you smell gas, turn the burner knob to the
“OFF” position an wait 5 minutes to allow any accumulate gas to issipate before attempting
to re‐light the burner.
6. If the flame goes out uring use an there is gas available the ignition system will begin clicking
again an will automatically re‐ignite the burner. If there are win y con itions the burner may
click perio ically which is normal.
7. If the flame goes out or win y con itions move the flame too much the safety system will shut
off gas to the burner. If this occurs, wait 5 minutes an until the win y con itions re uce an
relight starting at Step 1

CAUTION: Keep your face an han s as far away from the grill as possible when manually lighting
burners.
In the event of a power failure or if a burner igniter is amage , the grill can still be use . If an attempt
has just been ma e to ignite a burner, wait 5 minutes an follow the proce ure below:
1. A match hol er is provi e an locate in the rip tray sli e out section of the Grill on the right
han si e.
2. Separate two grate sections above the esire burner as shown in Fig. 12 to allow access to the
ignition area.
3. Using the match hol er provi e , securely place a match in the clip si e of the hol er.
4. Ignite the match an insert it between the separate grates. Place the flame of the match close
to one of the holes of the esire burner.
5. Press an hol the selecte burner knob an turn it to “HIGH” while continuing the hol the
knob presse in.
6. The burner will ignite within 4‐5 secon s.
7. Continue to hol the knob presse in for 5‐10 secon s. This allows the safety system to heat an

TURNING ON AFTER EXTENDED BREAK
When you turn the barbecue on for the first time after an exten e break, such as a holi ay, or for the first time
after servicing or installation, allow a safe purge of the gas lines. Turn each gas knob on as normal, but allow several
more attempts while trappe air is cleare from the gas lines.
FOOD SAFETY
You shoul not store foo at temperatures between 4°C an 60°C for longer than 2 hours.
USING THE ROASTING HOOD
The roasting hoo must be open while lighting the barbecue, an must remain open for at least 10 minutes before
