CARICO COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM!
What is Dry Vapor?
Dry Vapor
CARICO’S COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM is a high temperature "vapor" steam
cleaner, meaning it has approximately 5-6% moisture content in its steam. Other
less efficient products on the market have a much higher moisture content.
Why is drier better?
The steam given off by water boiling at 212° F (100° C) contains a great deal of
moisture. If you hold your hand about 6 inches over a boiling pot on the stove,
your hand will immediately become saturated and you’ll likely burn yourself if
you continued to hold it there. This is an example of “wet steam”.
Hold your hand 6 inches from CARICO’S COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM and
the vapor is actually cool across your hands because it superheats the steam,
meaning it's drier and the saturation level is less.
Increasing the heat of the steam creates drier, lower moisture steam as it nears
its gaseous state which is correctly termed "dry". Most other companies like to
talk about how many bars of pressure they create. But that is only one part of
the story. You need to know the temperature of the steam as it exits the hose.
The steam from CARICO’S COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM kills most dust mites,
mold, viruses and fungi on contact and begins to evaporate almost immediately
on the surface. A surface cleaned by CARICO’S COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM
is usually dry within minutes, if not seconds, which means mold cannot begin
to take hold. Other traditional steam cleaners produce “wet” steam, leaving
upholstery, floors and other surfaces wet, which creates an environment that is
hospitable to all the mold and fungus that the user had to get rid of in the first
place.

RISK OF BURNS
This appliance produces steam at a very high temperature. The steam cleaner
and its accessories can get very hot. Always use appropriate precautions. Avoid
direct skin contact.
CARICO'S COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM is a powerful tool so
use it with care. Certain surfaces, fabrics, materials and finishes are water and
heat sensitive and dry vapor can damage or discolor them. ALWAYS check with
the manufacturer of the surface or product you wish to clean before using dry
vapor. TEST a small, hidden surface to make sure the surface is suitable for use
with the CARICO COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM. Use a minimal amount of dry
vapor on silicone joints and immediately dry.
DO NOT leave steam in one spot on any surface for any period of time with a wet
cleaning cloth/pad attached as this will damage the surface.
DO NOT use on unsealed wood, on wood or tile floors that are highly worn,
unfinished or have a wax or oil finish. CARICO COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM
may damage surfaces treated with wax or no-wax floors.
ALWAYS use care when cleaning leather, synthetic fabrics, velvet or other
delicate, steam-sensitive materials. Follow the manufacturer's instructions. Color
test small, out of view area before using on the entire item.
DO NOT use the CARICO COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM for any other purpose
than what is described in the instructions manual. In no event is Carico liable
for incidental or consequential damages to anyone, of any nature whatsoever.
Some states/provinces do not permit the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you.
ELECTRICAL INSTRUCTIONS
To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another high-wattage appliance
on the same circuit simultaneously with the CARICO COMPLETE SANITIZING
SYSTEM.
If an extension cord is necessary, only use a 15-amp rated cord
with a 3-prong grounded plug. Cords rated for less may overheat and cause
damage.
3-PRONG GROUNDED PLUG
The 110 volt version of this system features a 3-prong grounded plug. As a safety
feature, this plug will fit into a grounded outlet only one way. If the plug does
not fit fully into the power outlet, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt
to defeat this safety feature.
WATER INSTRUCTIONS
Your CARICO COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM was designed for use with normal

3.2 SAFETY FEATURES
3.2.1. Mechanical safety features:
•The safety pressure valve exit is located on the bottom of the machine, and
releases steam if the pressure inside gets too high. The steam is released
underneath the device to avoid harming anyone. The working pressure
in the boiler is 5.5 Bar (80 psi) and the safety valve will only open within a
range of maximum +2 Bar (29 psi).
•The unit has 2 INCOLOY 800 heat coils which are extremely resistant
to high temperatures and against limestone deposits.
•Intake and outtake air for the vacuum motor are kept in separate
directions to keep the motor cool.
3.2.2. Electric safety features:
•The boiler has a pressure sensor which guarantees that it maintains
pressure around 5.5 Bar (80 psi).
•The multi pin construction of the power cord means that by simply
inserting the plug, a special sequence ensures that electricity properly
passes the commands to the hose.
•If the sequence is correct, the unit will begin operating. If something is
wrong, the unit will not operate. A resistor in the command center
responds within a very small tolerance range that your accessory is
properly connected and will not recognize a foreign accessory or object.
•The self check takes approximately 7 seconds pass (delay) prior to
freeing the electric circuit.

4 - LIST OF FEATURES
CARICONECT SYSTEMTM
Insert the hose with its connection into the CARICONECT SYSTEM™ socket at the
front of the unit and push the plug into the socket (Pict. 1). An audible alarm will
tell you that the hose was properly connected to the power.
The patented design of CARICO'S COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM makes
the machine surprisingly easy to handle. The small front wheels and the hose
connection both swivel to allow you maximum freedom of movement and also
prevents the hose from wearing out. (Pict. 2).
Several features make CARICO'S COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM your special
agent in the war against dirt and grime.
4.1 EXCLUSIVE FEATURES:
ULTRA FILTRATION SYSTEM, CARICONECT SYSTEMTM,
CARICO'S SIMPLE DESCALING PROCESS (SDP)TM
CARICO'S COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM is equipped with the exclusive
ULTRA FILTRATION SYSTEMTM, a sophisticated system of filtration using
highly efficient nebulized water (cloud like) which captures even the finest
particles by binding them to the water particles which gravity then pulls into
the container.
Moreover, it has an environmentally aware 4-level filtering system: no more
paper bags to buy and then dispose of. As well as saving on operating costs,
CARICO'S COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM also saves you time, as you do not
need to use any cleaning chemicals or dust bags, producing less waste.
➊CARICO'S COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM vacuums any dust and dirt. ➋
Water is sprayed in a micro-sized mist that instantly bonds to dirt and dust
particles deep inside the CARICO’S COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM removing
them from the air, and ➌ sucking them into the water tank. ➍- ➎The 4-level
lter system traps any remaining particles. ➏The air that comes out is clean,
fresh, and breathable.

5 - GETTING STARTED
IMPORTANT! Follow these instructions when using the CARICO COMPLETE
SANITIZING SYSTEM for the first time.
Make sure the power cord is not plugged in before you start any operation.
Lay the appliance on the floor and open the tank lid as shown in Pict.1 and 2.
For safety reasons, never vacuum any toxic or highly flammable substances,
explosives, embers or lit cigarettes, detergents, or foam of any kind. Do not use
the appliance to clean the chimney or to remove oily substances, which could
lead to serious danger and to a possible machine breakdown!
Fill the CARICO COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM with soft tap water. Never
use demineralized/distillated water. Demineralized/distillated water is not
suitable for this appliance and its use can result in the product malfunctioning.
If tap water is hard, we recommend using a mixture of half tap water and half
distillated water in order to protect the device against excessive calcification.
Before you turn on the machine, open the flaps (Pict. 1 and 2), remove the top of
the bucket (Pict. 3 next page). Remove the tank (Pict. 5 next page) and fill it with
0.7 liters (0.18 gal) of cold water, paying attention that the level corresponds to
the mark printed on the separator (Pict. 4 next page).
Take off the boiler tank cap and fill the tank with about 0.9 liters (0.24 gal) water
(Pict. 6 overleaf). Close the tank lid and refasten it. Now you can plug in the unit.

6.1 VACUUMING WET & DRY WITH WATER FILTER
Only vacuum non-flammable liquids such as water and
spilled beverages. Always clean the unit after using per the instructions
below.
To vacuum up liquids, you can begin with an empty tank!
If you need to vacuum large amounts of water use either medium speed
or maximum speed. The appliance can suckup up to 1.2 liters of liquid.
In excess of this quantity, the electronic safety switch is enabled making
a noise and the motor noise becomes more acute. At this point, turn the
vacuum function off immediately and empty the water tank before using.
Fill the water tank as described in Chapter 5 to vacuum solids or a mix of solid
and liquid waste. Choose the best accessory for the job. See Chapter 7.
To change vacuum power, hold the vacuum speed button on the grip (Pict.1a)
until the desired level is reached. If you are vacuuming dust or other kinds of
dirt, replace the tank water frequently.
Vacuuming
Follow the instructions above and then choose the accessory best indicated for
what it is you want to do (Section 7). Turn on and choose the desired speed.
Use the lowest speed for delicate materials and medium or high speed for most
other jobs.
Vacuuming liquids only
If you want to vacuum liquids, such as spilled water, there is no need to add
water first. You can start vacuuming directly. For best results use the following:
Medium speed - large amounts of liquids (e.g. a siphon).
High speed - small amounts of liquids.
Intelligent Boiler Technology (IBT)
The Carico Sanatizing System is the only unit available with IBT. IBT manages
power use between the steam and vacuum to save electricity and time. With the
steam function off, the vacuum has three (3) speeds. When the steam function is
on, the system has two (2) speeds.
6 - OPERATION
6.2 STEAM CLEANING & SANITIZING
Once the necessary boiler pressure is reached, the flashing blue light becomes
steady, and the steam function is ready to use. Insert the desired cleaning
accessory directly into the hose grip handle or with one or more extension tubes
in between. To deliver steam, just pull the steam power button on the handle
(Pict. 1a). To get the best steam output and turn vacuum off, start with the steam
regulator (Pict 1b) at minimum (-), then slowly turn up (towards +) until you

7 - ACCESSORIES AND FILTERS
7.1 EXTENSION TUBES
Your unit comes with two extension tubes with rapid lock system allowing you
to choose the desired length. They are thermally insulated to protect against
scalding.
One of the wands has an adjustable handle to make it easier to use (Pic 1b). If
you are right handed or left handed, you can adjust the handle to the side that
suits you. (Pic 1c). You can also adjust the height of the handle by loosening the
handle and sliding the tube up or down to the desired position.
Max length 3.0 m. (9.8 ft), includes hose and both extension tubes.
7.2 BIG BRUSH
Reliable and robust, it is suitable for any kind of floor surface. This multipurpose
brush is supplied with other attachments to give you the best cleaning results
on every kind of surface:
7.2.1 CARPET ACCESSORY WITHOUT BRISTLES (Steam, Vacuum or Steam
& Vacuum)
7.2.2 LIQUID ACCESSORY (Steam, Vacuum or Steam & Vacuum)
Choosing to use steam only, vacuum only or both, will tell you which of the brushes
you should use for cleaning: for stubborn dirt (2.1 & 2.2), use steam and afterwards
vacuum.
For quick, light cleaning or to dry vacuum use (2, 2.1 & 2.2).
Simply snap the desired brush into place (Picts. A - C). The brush is equipped with
four handy grippers to attach a cloth if required. It also has a slider for locking the
joint. The swivel joint allows for easy use even in tight spaces (e.g. underneath
furniture).
USEFUL TIPS
How to use the Carpet Accessory 7.2.4
The side intakes on the brushes provide excellent vacuuming, even along
walls or in corners. Use it to vacuum or steam clean (use both together on
smaller surfaces without heavy dirt). To avoid scratching a delicate surface,
attach a clean micro fiber cloth to the brush. Always clean one piece at a
time, first passing with low steam to loosen and trap the dirt in the cloth if
required and afterwards pass again quickly with the vacuum. This will leave
the surface clean and dry. Rinse your cloth as you need and continue or use
clean dry cloths.
How to use the Liquid Accessory 7.2.5
Quickly clean up spills and puddles from the floor with the liquid accessory
(Pict 2.1). You can also use this accessory on tiles and non delicate floors
to first steam a patch of floor, also using the maximum steam output, and
then vacuuming up (do not steam while vacuuming except on small and
almost clean surfaces, because most of the steam is sucked up before it can
penetrate the dirt or kill micro-organisms).
Use the rear bristles on the brush itself to soften and remove heavy dirt and
grime if necessary.

EN 15
2.2
ATTENTION
Parquet and other delicate floor surfaces
When steam cleaning parquet or other delicate floor surfaces, check with the
manufacturer if it is suitable for steam cleaning. Use only a small amount of
steam to avoid causing damage. Always test in a discreet, small area before
doing the entire surface. Work on a small area out of the way in order to see
how the parquet reacts to steam cleaning. Do not place the brush directly
on the wooden surface but kept at a distance. See how the wood reacts.
There are many different types of parquet and each may react differently. If
the surface has no negative reaction from the steam, then you may slowly
start working with the brush on the floor and slowly add more steam, always
keeping in mind that the parquet may not show negative sign of reaction to
the steam right away.
If you find resistant dirt, work the localized area with steam in order to soften
the dirt until it can simply be removed.
Give the dirt time to soften or liquefy prior to removal. After following
these steps you can now easily vacuum up the dirt by tilting the brush
back to the parallel position.
How to use the floor accessory with bristles
Use for vacuuming all delicate surfaces such as parquet where you wish to
avoid scratches from the rougher profile of the Carpet Accessory 7.2.1.
Use brushes to loosen dust and dirt before vacuuming. Use it on tiles to
remove dust and light dirt. Always use delicately and without any liquid on
the floor so that the bristles stay clean and do not wear down quickly. Do
not use to scrub.
ATTENTION! Never attempt to use this accessory with steam!
GENERAL USE
Very dirty surfaces
First use an attachment with the bristles without steam to remove most of
the dirt, then use the steam, allow the steam time to dissolve the dirt. Lastly,
turn on the vacuum and go over the surface by tilting the brush forward,
drying and vacuuming the dirt.
Medium dirty surfaces
Operate with both steam and vacuum (depending on the accessory used;
remember to heat up the unit first to deliver perfect steam), then turn off the
steam. The brush must always be tilted forward (to facilitate vacuuming). After
finishing work, do not stop the vacuum immediately, to allow the dirty water
still inside the tube and hose to reach the recovery tank. Tilt the brush face up to
avoid any dripping.
Carpets and rugs
Attention – always thoroughly vacuum your carpet or rug before using
steam to avoid any dirt getting moist and sinking deeper into the carpet. The
appliance can clean and disinfect any kind of carpet or rug with the exception
of long-haired rugs, these will tend to close the water jets and lead to bad
filtration. With rugs made of sheep's wool please test on a small section
before steam cleaning the whole rug, the heat may cause a change of color
in the wool or lead to shrinking. Steam cleaning will revive color, restore the
original thickness and eliminate impurities from the carpet bottom layer. If
your carpets and rugs are dusty on top, start by using the big brush with
vacuum only. After vacuuming, use the appliance with simultaneous action
(steam+vacuum), according to the same procedure recommended for
medium dirty surfaces. With particularly stubborn and crusty stains, we
recommend the use of 1 Hole Dress-Fit (8.3) + Brush (7.3.2).
If you want to pre-treat a spot, use only natural, safe products.

7.3.3 SMALL ROUND BRUSH
Use the Dress-Fit Single Jet (Pict. 3) on its own or with a brush (place it on the
nozzle and push until it holds) to remove grease, or with vacuum nozzles, to
suck up grease or dust when using with vacuum. Use Small Nozzle (3.1) for
a specific area. It is particularly recommended to clean and to remove grease:
•Between tiles
•Inside and outside ovens and grills
•Steel or enamel sinks
•Wash basin, bidet, toilet, shower, bath
•Taps and fittings (to remove scale)
First treat the area with steam.
Stop the steam and switch to vacuum with the nozzle.
For cleaning radiators: use steam, the dust will fall on the floor which you can
then vacuum.
For doors/windows frames: place a clean micro fiber cloth on the edge of the
frame and tilt the Dress-Fit nozzle while operating steam; position the cloth so
it gathers the dirt.
For cleaning the toilet: use steam on the edge where water descends from, to
remove scale. (See also 7.9)
Adding a cloth
Use a clean micro fiber cloth on the brush when you clean
delicate materials with steam, fabric surfaces, delicate surfaces like parquet or
marble, or when you want to dissolve and spread wax. (Pict. 2.4).

FILTERS
2. POLYESTER FILTER
CARICO'S COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM has a
washable polyester filter. Keep the filter clean
(See Chapter 8 for cleaning instruction) and
ready for maximum performance and inspect
it monthly. The Polyester lter at the rear air-
outlet is designed to trap particles, catching
anything that escaped the previous lter(s).
The Polyester lter also makes the CARICO’S
COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM one of the most
silent appliances in its class, in the world (Pict.2).
1. AIR INTAKE FILTER
The Air Intake Filter function designed to prevent
particles from carpets, dust or dirt present in
the air from reaching and damaging the motor
(Pict.1).
7.8 WINDOW CLEANING
Window, glass or smooth surface cleaning is easy using the Cobra Brush with
the squeegee.
In winter, pre-heat the windowpanes using steam, at a 3 to
4 inch distance, before proceeding with any cleaning operation. Operate
the two functions, steam and vacuum, at the same time by slightly tilting the
window cleaner and moving down the window edges.
7.9 TOILET BOWL CLEANER (Pict. 8)
Sanitizing toilet bowls is easy using the long stainless steel power nozzle.
3. MOTOR INTAKE FILTER
The Motor Intake Filter prevents various
particles (from carpets, dust or dirt present in
the air) from reaching the motor. It also filters
the motor cooling air, a unique function found
only with CARICO’S HOME SANITIZING SYSTEM
(Pict. 3).
4. UPPER LID FILTER
The Upper Lid Filter prevents any particle not
completely filtered by water from reaching
the motor (Pict.4).

8 - MAINTENANCE
After intense use (or at least once every six (6) months) check all filtering
elements. Clean the appliance's outer surfaces with a cloth. Should the
appliance fall or overturn, switch off immediately and disconnect from the
power. If the machine comes in contact with water, dry it with a dry cloth and
wait a few minutes before switching on again. Do not put away the appliance
while the tank still contains dirty water, which may cause bad smells from mold
and encrustations forming inside the tank.
Do not direct jets of water or high pressure steam at the appliance to
clean it! (even when disconnected from the power)
IMPORTANT! Before carrying out any type of maintenance, turn the
machine off and disconnect from the power.
8.1 FILTERS
Immediately replace any filter if you notice any damage to them! Contact
your authorized Carico Service Center for new filters.
Do not use the appliance until all filters are perfectly dry.
Using a damp filter could damage the appliance. If stains or mold appear
on the filters, replace them with new ones from an authorized Carico Service
Center. The life of this filter is strongly influenced by how much the appliance
is actually used.
AIR INTAKE FILTER
The air intake filter keeps particles from reaching the motor. Check the
efficiency of filter when you are cleaning the purification tank.
To do this, remove and rinse the filter
repeatedly, separating it from the cover
and the machine body (Pict.1). Use small
pliers (eyebrow tweezers will do). Wash
the filter element with plenty of cold
water. Do not leave the filter to dry on
heaters or radiators!
If stains or mold appear on the filter
surface, replace them with new ones, from an authorized Carico Service Center.

appliance is actually being used.
POLYESTER FILTER
To keep the filter clean and ready for maximum performance, inspect it
monthly.
To inspect the filter:
1) Remove the exhuast filter cover, at the back of the CARICO COMPLETE
SANITIZING SYSTEM B (Pict. 2). The polyester filter is fitted inside. Lay the
exhaust filter cover, on the floor and extract the filter as shown (Pict. 3).
2) Check the filter; if there are traces of dust or dirt, wash with plenty of warm
water to remove.
3) Allow the filter to dry naturally (not on radiators or heaters).
Do not use the appliance until the filter is perfectly dry. Use of a damp
filter could damage the appliance.
4) After cleaning, put the filter back into place and reassemble the cover,
making sure to properly fit the exhuast filter cover hooks
onto the slits on the appliance body. Once the filter cover is in place,
rotate it upwards for the final fixing with the stopping tongue.
Replace the polyester filter if torn or damaged.

8.2 CARICO'S RSSTM
After each use, clean the purification tank which is all that is required for
maintaining CARICO'S COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM efficiency. When you
are done cleaning, empty the liquid waste of the purification tank as shown in
Pict. 10 and rinse thoroughly.
The CARICO COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM has two nebulizers (Pict. 12). The
nebulizers include silver rings which inhibit the growth of bacteria and odors
in the tank.
To make this operation easier, remove the divider inside the tank (Pict. 11).
Remove the nebulizers (Pict. 12). Rinse tank, divider and nebulizers with hot
water until all residues and stains on the tank walls are removed.
When you take off the divider, make sure to put it back correctly into the proper
guides with its curved side facing forwards and upwards and that it touches the
bottom (otherwise it won’t slide in). Please be careful, these are delicate pieces.
If one gets broken or lost, immediately obtain a spare part from an authorized
Carico Service Center. Do not use the CARICO'S COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM
without it. Allow all pieces to dry or dry them yourself before replacing them in
the machine and closing the cover. Moisture left inside could create mildew and
unpleasant odors.
TIP: Here is an easy way to clean your attachments:
Empty the tank and vacuum 1 liter of clean tap water through the accessories
you used, repeat as needed.
CAUTION!

MOTOR INTAKE FILTER
Prevents various particles (from carpets, dust or dirt present in the air)
from reaching the motor and filters the motor cooling air.
1. Check that the motor intake filter is clean at least once a month.
2. If needed, remove and rinse the motor intake filter frequently. To remove
it, first remove the tank. Find the lower cover and remove it by undoing the
central screw, using your hands or a coin. Remove the filter (Pict. 5-6-7) and
wash it with water.
Before using the vacuum cleaner again, make sure the filters are dry, so that
they can operate at their best.
Do not leave the motor intake filter to dry on heaters or radiators!
UPPER LID FILTER
Check the Upper Lid Filter when you clean the
purification tank. If necessary, remove and rinse the
