he device is intended solely for the purpose described in these operating
instructions. The manufacturer is not liable for damage occurring as a result of
inappropriate or careless use.

his product is not a substitute for a hearing aid or intended for use by hearing
impaired people. Anyone who suspects hearing loss should seek evaluation by
a healthcare professional.

I
n the event of an existing or previous ear problem, you should consult your
doctor before using the hearing amplifier.
•

o NOT use the hearing amplifier if you are suffering from an ear inflammation
or infection.
•
D
o NOT use the hearing amplifier if you are suffering from an inflammation of
the middle ear or ear canal.
•
D
o NOT use the hearing amplifier at maximum volume over a longer period of
time. This could damage your hearing.
•
I
f you feel unwell or experience pain when wearing the hearing amplifier, stop
using it immediately and contact your doctor.

I
f your ear becomes inflamed or your skin irritated or you experience an
increased accumulation of ear wax when wearing the hearing amplifier, stop
using it immediately and contact your doctor.
•
S
top using the hearing amplifier and seek medical attention if the following
occurs:
– Rash or eczema on areas of skin that contact the hearing amplifier. The
parts of the hearing amplifier that contact the skin are made from a
hypoallergenic material. In rare cases, however, allergic reactions may
occur that appear in the form of eczema.
– Use of the hearing amplifier results in discharge from the ear and/or the
ear requires treatment.
– Sudden, significant decrease in hearing ability.

I
f parts of the hearing amplifier become stuck in the ear, seek medical
attention immediately. Do not attempt to remove the parts yourself.
•
A
t first, set the volume to a low setting and increase it gradually once you
have become accustomed to the hearing amplifier.

o NOT set the volume control too high, as this may cause damage to hearing
over an extended period of time. This is particularly important to note, as the
device achieves a high output power.
•

o NOT lend your hearing amplifier to others or use the hearing amplifier of
others, as there is a risk of hearing damage and infection.

he hearing amplifier is NOT suitable for use by children.
•
K
eep the hearing amplifier, the accessories and the batteries away from children,
as there is a risk of injury and choking.
•
T
his device is NOT intended for use by people with restricted physical, sensory
or mental skills or a lack of experience and/or a lack of knowledge, unless they
are supervised by a person who has responsibility for their safety or they receive
instructions from this person on how to use the device. Supervise children
around the device to ensure they do not play with it.

o NOT use the device in oxygen-rich environments or over an extended period
of time.

fields or X-rays.

o NOT wear the hearing amplifier while bathing, showering, or swimming.

rotect the device from impacts, humidity, dirt, marked temperature fluctuations,
direct sunlight, and high levels of humidity.

H
igh temperatures may develop in closed vehicles during summer. Never leave
your hearing amplifier inside a vehicle.
•
D
o NOT drop the device or subject it to any shocks.
•
I
f the hearing amplifier falls into water, dry it thoroughly before use.

ever attempt to dry the hearing amplifier in a microwave, a tumble dryer or
with a hair dryer.

o NOT use the hearing amplifier together with a mobile phone, as the radio
waves of the mobile phone may cause background noise or a loss of volume.
•
D
o NOT wear the hearing amplifier while applying cosmetics (e.g. makeup,
hairspray, perfume, or sunscreen).
•
D
o NOT wear the hearing amplifier while undergoing shortwave therapy or
medical treatments that are subject to strong radio frequency or magnetic fields.
• Take care when operating the switch and controller. Do NOT press too firmly.
•
D
o NOT insert any sharp objects into the microphone opening.
•
D
o NOT touch the magnets of the hearing amplifier as this may damage the
device.
•
D
o NOT touch the inside of the device or poke at the inside of the hearing
amplifier with a needle or similar object.
•
M
aintain your hearing amplifier regularly. Make sure there are no foreign objects
in between the earplug and headphones, as this could impair the sound.
•
D
o NOT use the device if it has been dropped or otherwise damaged.
•

witch the device off after every use and before every cleaning.

Battery Handling Safety Precautions
•
U
se only the size and type of batteries specified.
•
B
e sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries. Reversed
batteries may cause damage to the device.
•
D
o not mix different types of batteries together (e.g. Alkaline and Carbon-zinc or
rechargeable batteries) or old batteries with fresh ones. Always replace batteries
as a simultaneous set.
•
I
f the batteries in the device are depleted or the device will not be used for
a long period of time, remove the batteries to prevent damage or injury from
possible battery leakage.
•
D
o not try to recharge batteries not intended to be recharged; they can overheat
and rupture (follow battery manufacturer’s directions.)
•
D
o not dispose of batteries in fire, batteries may explode or leak.
•
C
lean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery
installation.

emove discharged batteries from the product and dispose/recycle in
compliance with all applicable laws.
•
K
eep batteries away from children and pets. Batteries may be harmful if
swallowed. Should a child or pet swallow a battery, seek medical assistance
immediately.

f your skin or eyes come into contact with battery fluid, rinse the affected areas
with water and seek medical assistance.

I
f a battery has leaked, put on protective gloves and clean the battery
compartment with a dry cloth.

o not use rechargeable batteries.

o not disassemble, open or crush the batteries.
•
I
f you are not using the hearing amplifier, switch it off, remove the batteries and
store it in the storage box.

4. To Use
Remove the hearing amplifier from the packaging and check that the device
and all accessories are included and not damaged.
1.
Open the Battery Compartment by pushing down on
the tab and swinging the compartment away from the
body of the device.
2.
Insert one alkaline type LR754 button cell battery
(included) into the Battery Compartment observing the
correct polarity as indicated at right.

3. Close the Battery Compartment and attach the desired
Earphone Cover to the Sound Tube of the Earphone.
Make sure the Volume Control is set to the lowest setting
before turning on the hearing amplifier.
4.
Bring the hearing amplifier up to your ear as shown.
Gently insert the Earphone into your ear canal, making
sure not to insert it too deeply. If the Earphone is not
properly in place or feels uncomfortable, try a different
size Earphone Cover.
5. Slide the On/Off switch to the on (|) position. Adjust the Volume Control
to the desired level so that you can hear sounds clearly and distinctly.
NOTES
•
I
f you hear a whistling sound while using the hearing amplifier, check for proper
earphone fitting. If it is not snug enough, use a different earphone cover.
•
T
he hearing amplifier does not heal an existing hearing impairment, but it
does enhance hearing ability.

5. Care, Maintenance and Disposal
•
R
emove the battery from the device before cleaning.
•
P
lease always treat the product with care and prevent the Earphone Cover
from becoming obstructed with foreign objects. This impairs the function of
the sound amplification.
•
C
lean the hearing amplifier and the Earphone Cover with a soft damp cloth then
wipe dry with a soft, lint-free cloth after each use. If they are very dirty, you can
also moisten the cloth with a mild soapy solution. Never use abrasive, corrosive
or solvent-based cleaning products.
•
O
nly clean the device as instructed. Always keep liquids from entering the
device or accessories.
•
D
o not use the device until it is completely dry.
•
A
n elongated object or brush works well to remove any ear wax stuck in the
earphone cover.
•
A
llow the hearing amplifier to dry fully after cleaning. Store the hearing amplifierin
a safe, dry and clean place in the storage box.

Disposal
Observe the local regulations for material disposal. Dispose of the device in
accordance with local regulations. If you have any questions, please contact the
local authorities responsible for waste disposal.

Problem Possible causes
The volume control
has to be set very
high to work
properly.
Earphone does not fit correctly in the ear, resulting
in improper operation or a whistling sound (acoustic
feedback). To prevent:

witch off the hearing amplifier and insert the earphone
into the ear correctly.
•
I
f the earphone does not fit correctly in the ear, use a
different size earphone cover. If you have questions
about fit, contact Customer Service.

8. Warranty
Limited Lifetime Warranty For Original Purchaser
Your Beurer hearing amplifier, Model HA50, is warranted to be free from defects in
materials and workmanship for the life of the product under normal conditions of
intended use and service. This warranty extends only to the original retail purchaser
and does not extend to retailers or subsequent owners.
We will, at our option, repair or replace the Beurer hearing amplifier, Model HA50,
without additional charge, for any part or parts covered by these written warranties.
No refunds will be given. Repair or replacement is our only responsibility and your
only remedy under this written warranty. If replacement parts for defective materials
are not available, Beurer reserves the right to make product substitutions in lieu
of repair or replacement.

or at info@beurer.com to provide a description of the problem. If the problem is
deemed to be within the scope of the limited lifetime warranty, you will be asked
to mail the product at your costs in its original package with proof of purchase,
