Experiment with these suggested settings when dialing in your tone.
You can also tailor your sound with the type of pickups you use and
where they are placed on the guitar.
Humbuckers (dual coil pickups) generally have higher output than
singlecoil pickups, and tend to overdrive more easily. Singlecoils
usually have a brighter, ‘clearer’ tone but less body to the sound. In
addition, a pickup sounds tighter and more crisp closer to the
bridge and has a warmer, more rounded sound closer to the neck.

INTRODUCTION:
Thank you for buying a Kickstart 10. Correctly used it will provide
years of reliable service and fulfill all you performance needs.
Please read this user guide thoroughly in order to safeguard your
equipment and to obtain maximum performance from it.
The Kickstart range of combos have been designed and voiced to
be an ideal introduction to guitar amplification. They are designed
to help you start playing and keep playing for years to come. The
designs are deliberately simple for easy and intuitive operation,
but will still produce a wide range of tones for different musical
styles. They are ideally suited to home practice, producing
versatile tones without extremes of volume.
UNPACKING AND INSPECTION
Carefully unpack the unit. If it appears damaged in any way, return
it to the retailer it was purchased from in its original packaging.
Carlsbro Electronics Ltd cannot accept any responsibility for
damage arising from the use of non-approved packaging

TOP PANEL FEATURES
1. Input Socket: This is a high impedance unbalanced mono jack
socket. Connect your guitar here using a high quality, shielded
instrument lead.
2. Gain Control: When in overdrive mode, this controls the amount of
gain added to your guitar's signal. Adding gain causes harmonic
distortion of the signal, producing a fuller, crunchier sound for use
in rock music.
3. Overdrive Switch: 'Clean' mode is enabled with the switch out.
When pushed in, overdrive mode is enabled.
4. Bass: This is used to control the level of bass or low frequency
sound. Turn clockwise to boost, anti-clockwise to cut.
5. Treble: As with bass control but for treble or high frequency
6. Reverb: Short for 'reverberation.' Adds an echoing character to
the sound to simulate an acoustic environment. Turn clockwise to
increase the amount added to the signal.
Note: In some conditions (very high reverb and volume settings)
the reverb can feedback. If this happens, the reverb level
should be decreased until the feedback dies away.
7. Volume: Sets the overall volume level for the combo. Turn
clockwise to increase volume.
8. Audio In: A 3.5mm line level jack socket for connection of external
audio devices (e.g. mp3 player, CD player), allowing you to play
along to songs/recordings.
9. Phones: 3.5mm line level jack socket provides a mono signal for
stereo headphone attachment.
Note: that this disconnects the speaker, so headphones can be
used for silent practice.
10. Power LED: The LED will illuminate when the unit is turned on.
When the amp is switched off, the LED will slowly go out.

REAR PANEL FEATURES
1. Mains Switch: This turns the AC mains power to the unit on or
off. Ensure that the AC power socket and plug are easily
accessible during use
NOTE: The unit is not isolated from the mains until the power
cord is removed
2. IEC Input Socket: Connect the supplied IEC mains lead here.
Should the mains fuse need replacing, it is located below the
mains input. Always replace the fuse with the same type and
rating printed on the rear panel of your amp. If the replacement
fuse blows immediately, then contact your local service agent.
DO NOT fit a higher rated fuse. This appliance must be earthed.
Please ensure the supplied AC power lead is connected to a
mains supply socket fitted with a safety earth connection
NOTE: ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE UNIT FROM THE MAINS
SUPPLY BEFORE CHANGING THE FUSE.
STORAGE
When you are not using your amplifier, disconnect it from the mains
supply and store it away from any source of moisture.
