BEFORE FIRST USE
Your CASCADE a liance has been ackaged carefully to
ensure the roduct reaches you in good condition. If the
roduct has been damaged, dro ed, has a malfunction in any
way, or if the su ly cord is damaged, immediately contact
your retailer for re lacement or re air.
Carefully un ack your CASCADE a liance. Make sure you do
not discard any ackaging material until all arts of the
a liance have been found.
Wash the ceramic cooking bowl in warm soa y water. Carefully
wi e the exterior of the a liance to remove any dust that may
have accumulated. Dry with a dry towel. Do not use harsh
abrasive cleaners. Remove any label or sticker.
WARNING! Do not immerse a liance base in water or any
other liquids.
SAFETY AN INSTALLATION
Use and environment
Do not use outdoors. Do not leave in direct sunlight as this
may damage the lastic. This a liance is for household use
only, not commercial or industrial use. The ower socket must
be readily accessible so that the oven can be un lugged in an
emergency.
Always use on a heat resistant flat stable surface away from
any liquid carrying vessel such as sink or washbasin.
This a liance must be connected to a suitable 230-240V ~
50Hz ower su ly.

OPERATION GUI E
Place the inner bowl into the a liance and connect to the
mains su ly. Add ingredients before turning on.
For first time use
Place 8-10 cu s of cold water into the ceramic bowl. Select
high setting and cook for a roximately 20-30 minutes. Turn
slow cooker switch to ‘OFF’ osition, disconnect from the
ower su ly and allow water to cool down com letely. Discard
this water. Rinse ceramic bowl, dry and re lace the ceramic
bowl in slow cooker.
Note. The first time you use your slow cooker, there may be a
small amount of smoke and smell. This is normal. It is due to a
rotective coating, laced on the heating elements, to rotect
the heating elements during shi ing.
Selection settings.
LOW: For longer cooking times at a very low tem erature.
HIGH: For shorter cooking times at a higher tem erature.
Food will cook in a roximately half the time taken for ‘Low’
setting
AUTO: For cooking automatically with both high and low
functions. The cooker will cook on high at first and then
automatically switch to low setting after an initial eriod.
Warning! Slow cooker will o erate until switched off either by
switching the control switch to OFF and/or removing from the
mains su ly. There is no “Auto OFF” control device in this
a liance. Do not overcook food. Monitor cooking.

Place food into slow cooker ceramic bowl and lace into base
and cover with the lid. Select desired cooking function.
Slow cooking will commence. Power on indictor will illuminate.
When cooking is com leted, switch off and disconnect from the
mains su ly, remove ceramic bowl and serve. You may serve
straight from the ceramic bowl.
Warning! After cooking, lace the ceramic bowl on a heat
resistant surface, as the bowl will be hot. Handle with care.
Use oven gloves when hot to remove the bowl.
Warning! Do not subject the ceramic bowl to sudden changes
of tem erature, as it may crack. Do not ut cold water into the
bowl when it is hot, or boiling hot water into the bowl when it
is cold.
Always cook with the lid on. Do not remove the lid often when
cooking, as this will rolong the cooking time.
Do not overfill the ceramic bowl. Boiling liquids may overflow
and cause ersonal injury or damage to the a liance or
cooking area.
Always lace vegetables into ceramic bowl first when cooking
with meat, as these will take longer to cook than the meat.
Warning! Do not let the su ly cord hang over the edge of
any table or bench to , as young children may ull the
a liance cord and cause scalding or other ersonal injury.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electric a liances always observe safety
regulations where a licable to reduce the risk of fire, electric
shock and ersonal injury. Always check that the ower su ly
corres onds to the voltage on the rating late.
Supply
This a liance must be connected to a suitable 230-240V ~
50Hz ower su ly. If using an extension cord, ensure that the
extension cord is of a suitable 10am ower rating and of a
suitable size. Fully uncoil any cord used as a coiled cord may
overheat. It is not recommended to use other a liances on
the same circuit as that su lying any critical a liance such
as refrigerators, ovens or similar that may require constant
electricity su ly.
Supply cord and plug
Do not abuse or damage the ower cord. Fully uncoil before
use. If the su ly cord is damaged, it must be re laced by the
manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified
erson in order to avoid a hazard.
Children
Caution. Kee out of reach of children. This a liance is not
intended for use by young children or infirm ersons. Young
children must be su ervised by a res onsible erson to ensure
that they can o erate the a liance safely. Young children
should be su ervised to ensure that they do not lay with the
a liance
WARNING: Only allow children to use the a liance
without su ervision when adequate instructions have been
given so that the child is able to use the a liance in a safe
way and understands the hazards of im ro er use.

Recipes
Cooking times may vary de ending on quantities and food
ingredients used.
Rice
Serves 6:
3 cu s rice
6 cu s water
½ teas oon salt
Cook for 4 - 5 hours on high or 7 - 8 hours on low setting.
Fluff rice with a fork before serving.
Chilli Con Carne
Serves 6:
2 large onions, eeled and cho ed
2 - 3 cloves garlic, crushed (1 teas oon crushed)
750 g lean minced beef
2 x 425 g cans tomatoes in juice, cho ed
1 x 425 g can of red kidney beans
1 tables oon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and freshly ground black e er to taste
1 teas oon chilli owder (more or less to your ersonal taste)
Place all ingredients into the slow cooker. Cover and cook on
low for 8 hours (slightly more or less time will not affect the
result).
S oon into individual bowls - noodle bowls are ideal. Garnish
with a dollo of sour cream, cho ed tomato, avocado and
arsley. Chilli can also be served over rice or noodles.
Slow Cooker Chicken and Vegetables
Serves 4:
1 chicken, cut into 6 or 8 ieces
2 otatoes, eeled and cho ed
2 carrots, eeled and cho ed
2 arsni s, eeled and cho ed
2 small kumara, eeled and cho ed
2 onions, eeled and cho ed

250 g mushrooms
½ teas oon salt
1 teas oon freshly ground black e er
1 teas oon dried thyme
½ cu cho ed arsley
6 - 8 cloves garlic, crushed (2 teas oons)
6 cu s chicken stock
Place all ingredients in slow cooker and turn it on. Cook on low
for a rox 8 hours
French Country Chicken with Apples and Cider
Serves 6:
All the alcohol is cooked off in this slow cooker method but
a le juice can be substituted for cider.
2 tables oons oil
12 ieces chicken - legs, drumsticks, breasts
1 large onion, eeled and cho ed
3 cu s a le cider or clear a le juice
3 cu s chicken stock - this can be made u from stock owder
2 tables oons grainy mustard
½ cu dried currants or sultanas
Salt and freshly ground black e er to taste
½ teas oon dried thyme or mixed herbs
4 a les sliced into chunky wedges
Heat the oil in a large fry an and brown the chicken ieces all
over. Drain on a er towels discarding any fat and lace in
the slow cooker with all the other ingredients. Cover and cook

on high for 3 - 4 hours or low for 6 - 8 hours. Serve with
boiled small otatoes or rice and a green vegetable or salad.

MAINTENANCE AN CLEANING
Regular maintenance of your a liance will kee it safe and in

When not in use or before cleaning, always disconnect the
a liance from the mains su ly.
Cleaning
Regularly clean the outside of the a liance with a soft dam
cloth and dry it with a dry towel. Do not immerse in water. Do
not use harsh solvents to clean the lastic.

Always check that the a liance is in good working order.
Check the ower su ly cord and lug regularly for cuts or
damage.
Service
Do not attem t to service this a liance. If it is faulty in any
way, contact the hel line or return it to the retailer
immediately.
