Slow Cooker Chicken and Vegetable
Serves 4:
1 chicken, cut into 6 or 8 ieces
2 otatoes, eeled and cho ed
2 carrots, eeled and cho ed
2 arsni s, eeled and cho ed
2 small kumara, eeled and cho ed
2 onions, eeled and cho ed
250 g mushrooms
½ teas oon salt
1 teas oon freshly ground black e er
1 teas oon dried thyme
½ cu cho ed arsley
6 - 8 cloves garlic, crushed (2 teas oons)
6 cu s chicken stock
Place all ingredients in slow cooker and turn it on. Cook on low
for a rox 7 hours
French Country Chicken with Apple and Cider
Serves 6:
All the alcohol is cooked off in this slow cooker method but
a le juice can be substituted for cider.
2 tables oons oil
12 ieces chicken - legs, drumsticks, breasts
1 large onion, eeled and cho ed
3 cu s a le cider or clear a le juice
3 cu s chicken stock - this can be made u from stock owder
2 tables oons grainy mustard
½ cu dried currants or sultanas
Salt and freshly ground black e er to taste
½ teas oon dried thyme or mixed herbs
4 a les sliced into chunky wedges

Heat the oil in a large fry an and brown the chicken ieces all
over. Drain on a er towels discarding any fat and lace in
the slow cooker with all the other ingredients.
Cover and cook on high for 3 - 4 hours or low for 6 - 8 hours.
Serve with boiled small otatoes or rice and green vegetables
or garden salad.

overheat. It is not recommended to use other a liances on
the same circuit as that su lying any critical a liance such
as refrigerators, ovens or similar that may require constant
electricity su ly.
Supply cord and plug
Do not abuse or damage the ower cord. Fully uncoil before
use. If the su ly cord is damaged, it must be re laced by the
manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified
erson in order to avoid a hazard.
