Assembly
Your Garden Jet Pump is fully assembled, although hoses and fittings will need to be connected prior to
operation. For assistance with operation and set up, please refer to the Assembly Diagram and Parts List
located on pages 5 and 6 of this manual.
Operation
Never force the tool or attachment to do the work of a larger industrial tool. It is designed to do the job better
and more safely at the rate for which it was intended.
Before adjustments are made, ensure that the Pump is SWITCHED OFF AND UNPLUGGED. Also make sure
all connections are secure once adjustments are complete.
Note: Do not run pump dry; damage may occur.
Do not use the pump for abrasive liquids. If the water to be pumped contains sand or other abrasives, a filter
must be used.
Set the pump up in a well ventilated area with a temperature not to exceed 104F. If the temperature is to drop
below freezing, drain the pump completely and discontinue use until the temperature is above the freezing
level.
Step 1) Unscrew the Plug (part #26) which is located at the top of the Pump next to
the Outlet opening. Completely fill the compartment with water until the water overflows.
Once filled, and the pump is run, the pump will be self-priming.
Step 2) Determine which fitting or adapter to be used during operation. Screw the appropriate type
attachments into the Intake and Discharge. Make sure that the seals are tight.
Note: The Intake is located at the rear of the pump, and the Discharge opening is located at the top
of the Pump (please refer to the Assembly Diagram on the last pages of this manual).
Step 3) Place the pump on a level, solid foundation with the intake in water. Plug the pump into it’s
power source.
Step 4) To turn the pump “ON”, there is a clear “ON-OFF” switch (part #40) located at the top of the
pump. Push it to turn it “ON”. Repeat to turn it “OFF”.
Step 5) If, during pump operation, water stops flowing from the discharge hose, unplug the pump
immediately. Check the Troubleshooting Table on the following page to correct the problem.
IF THERE IS ANY QUESTION ABOUT ACONDITION BEING SAFE OR UNSAFE, DO NOT OPERATE THE TOOL.
