5. Installation and Initial Startu
Before installation, please inspe t the unit. Be sure that nothing is damaged
.
I: Placement & Storage Conditions
Install the UPS in a prote ted area that is free of ex essive dust and has adequate air flow around the unit,
and is free from ex essive dust, orrosive fumes and ondu tive ontaminants. Please pla e the UPS away
from other units at least 20 m to avoid interferen e. Do NOT operate the UPS where the temperature
ex eeds 0-40° C and the humidity is over 0-90 % RH.
II: Connect to Utility and Charge
Plug in the AC input ord to the 2-pole, 3-wire grounded wall outlet. For the best results, we suggest harging
the battery at least 6 hours with no load (no ele tri al devi es su h as omputers, monitors, rt .) onne ted
before initial use. The unit harges its battery while onne ting to the utility.
EN

9
III: Connect the Loads
Plug in the loads to output re epta les on the rear panel of the UPS. Simply turn on the power swit h of UPS
unit, and devi es onne ted to the UPS will be prote ted by UPS unit.
IV: Connect LAN cable, Modem or Phone line for Surge Protection
Conne t for example a single modem or phone line into surge-prote ted “IN” outlet on the ba k panel of the
UPS unit. Conne t from “OUT” outlet to the omputer with another phone line able.
V: Connect USB Cable
To monitor the UPS status, su h as unattended UPS shutdown and start-up, by using bundled software,
please onne t the UPS and PC with USB able in luded.
VI: Turn On/Off the Unit
Turn on the UPS unit by pressing the power swit h. Turn off the UPS unit by pressing again the power swit h.
Do not atta h a power strip or surge suppressor to the UPS.
NEVER onne t a laser rinter or scanner to the
UPS unit, because in-rush current generated by
motor’s devices may ause the damage of the unit.

6. Functions & O eration
I: DC Start Function
DC Start Fun tion enables UPS to be started up when AC utility power is not available and battery is fully
harged. Just simply press the power swit h to turn on the UPS.
II: Green Power Function
These series are equipped with Green Power Fun tion for saving power and prote ting battery. The feature of
deep dis harge prote tion is adoped on battery mode. If no load is onne ted to the UPS, it will automati ally
shut down after 5 minutes for energy saving while running on battery mode. The UPS will restart while AC
re overy.
III: AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation)
If the quality of the in oming mains is poor, the AVR boosts a low in oming voltage or redu es a high one. The
load re eives a voltage within the normal range.
IV: Auto restart while AC recovery

7. Software Installation on your PC
Conne ted by USB to a PC or notebook, the Software enables ommuni ation between the UPS and the
omputer. The UPS software monitors the status of the UPS, shuts down the system before the UPS is
exhausted and an remotely observe the UPS via the Network (enabling users to manage their system more
effe tively). Upon AC failure or UPS battery low, UPS takes all ne essary a tions without intervention from the
system administrator. In addition to automati file saving and system shut-down fun tions, it an also send
warning messages via pager, e-mail et .
•Use the bundled CD and follow the on-s reen instru tions to install the software WinPower.
•Enter the following serial No. to install software: 511C1-01220-0100-478DF2A
•After the software is su essfully installed, the ommuni ation with UPS has been established and a
green i on will appear in the system tray.
•Double- li k the i on to use the monitor software (as above).
•You an s hedule UPS shutdown/start-up and monitor UPS status through PC.
•Detail instru tions please refer to the e-manual in the software.
Che k http://www.ups-software-download. om/index.htm from time to time to get the
