3. Software Installation
1. InserttheincludedinstallationCDinto CD-ROMdriveandthen
followthe on-screen instructions. If there no screen shows when
inserting the CDafter1 minute,please executesetup.exe for
initiating installation software.
2.Enter SerialNo labelpastedon the UPSunittoinstallthe
software.
3.Whenyour computerrestarts,themonitoring software willappear
as a greenplugiconlocatedin thesystemtray, neartheclock
4. Installation & Initial Startup
NOTE:Beforeinstallation,pleaseinspecttheunit.Be
sure thatnothinginsidethepackageis damaged.
Connect to Utilityand Charging
Plug in the AC input cord to the wall
outlet. For the best results, suggest to
charge the battery at least 4 hours
before initial use. The unit charges its
batterywhile connecting totheutility.
Connect theLoads
Plugintheloadstooutputreceptaclesonthe
rearpaneloftheUPS. Simplyturnonthepower
switchof UPSunit,then devicesconnectedto
theUPSwillbeprotectedbyUPSunit.
CAUTION:NEVERconnect alaserprinteror
scannertothe UPSunit.Thismay causethe
damageofthe unit.
Connect Modem/Phone/Network toSurge Protection
Connectasinglemodem/phone/networkline intosurge-protected
“IN” outlet ontheback panelof the UPS unit. Connectfrom “OUT”
outlettothecomputerwithphonelinecable.
Connect Coax Protected Port (Forthemodelwithcoaxprotected
portonly)
This coaxprotectedport will protectyourTV antenna,cable,and
network.
Turn On/Offthe Unit
Turn on theUPSunitbypressingthe powerswitch. Turnoffthe
UPSunitbypressingagainthe powerswitch.Youmaycheckthe
StatusIndicatorsSectionforthedetails.
ColdStart Function
Whenthe UPSisoffand there is nopower utility, it'sstillpossibleto
coldstart theUPS unittopowertheloads.

7. BatteryReplacement
CAUTION!Servicingof batteries shouldbeperformed or
supervisedbypersonnel knowledgeableof batteriesand the
requiredprecautions. Keepunauthorizedpersonnel awayfrom
batteries.
CAUTION!When replacingthe batteries,usethesame number
andtypeofbatteries.
CAUTION!Internalbatteryvoltageis 12Vdc.Sealed,lead-acid,6
cells battery.
CAUTION!Do notdispose ofbatteries inafire.Thebatterymay
explode.Do notopenormutilatethebatteryorbatteries.Released
electrolyteisharmful tothe skinandeyes.
CAUTION!Abatterycanpresentariskofelectric shockand high
shortcircuit current.Thefollowingprecautionshouldbeobserved
beforereplacingbatteries:
1) Removewatches,rings,orothermetal objects.
2) Usetools with insulatedhandles.
3) Wearrubberglovesandboots.
4) Donotlaytoolsormetalpartsontopofbatteries.
5) Disconnectcharging sourcepriortoconnectingor
disconnectingbatteriesterminal.
Simplesteps to replace thebattery:

TURN theunit overandRemove
thescrewslocatedonthebottom
oftheUPStoopenthe battery
cover.

LIFTthe battery out ofthe
compartment anddisconnectthe
two wires connectingittothe
UPS.Replace thesametypeof
batteries.

Slide thebatterycompartment
cover backtothebatteryhousing.
9. Trouble Shooting
Problem ProbableCause Solution
TheUPS willnot turnon. Batteryisdisconnectedorutilitypowerisnot
availableat thewalloutlet. Connectthebatteryandensurepowerisavailable atthewalloutlet.
UPSisnotconnected properlytothemains. Connect the UPSaccording totheinstallation
guide.
YellowLEDisflashing,andalarm
is heardintermittently.Butmainsis
normal. Linebreakerprotected. Pressthe breaker.
UPSshutdown after afew
seconds and circuit breaker
protected.
UPSoutputis short-circuited,possiblydue
todefectivecomputer. Disconnectyourcomputer fromthe UPSandthen pressthebreaker.
Batteryisnotfullycharged. Chargetheunitatleast4hours.Inadequate runtime Batteryisneartheendofuseful life. Asa batteryages,theamountofruntime available
will decrease. Youcan replacethebatteryby
followingthestepsabove.
