ASTRONAUT CEILING INSTALLATION
Connections & Set-up
1) Pick a location on the ceiling that is at least 4 feet away from a wall or any
other vertical obstruction.
2) There are 3 mini-jack (3.5mm) inputs on the speaker for mixing multiple
sources of sound. They accept mono- or stereo jacks and content. Stereo
is mixed down to single point surround sound.
3) Do not plug the power adapter into the Astronaut until after all source
connections are made. The power connector is the on-off switch and if there
is not a source cable attached to the speaker, the speaker may emit loud
undesirable noises. Plug in the source, DVD, projector or personal computer
rst and then plug the small 5.5mm barrel connector of the power supply
into the base of the speaker where indicated. It will only t in one location.
4) Make sure the source volume is turned down to an acceptable level before
plugging in the power cord. The Astronaut does not have any internal
volume control. Therefore the volume is controlled by external means from
the DVD, VCR, PC, or projector. In-line volume controls, external mixers, and
some wall plates can be used also.
NOTE: These speakers use “conditioned” power. Use of unapproved
power adapters will invalidate the warranty.
5) Once inputs are established and the power supply is connected, turn on
the sound. Be sure to use a high quality recording to fully appreciate the
Astronaut’s awesome performance. Once you are satised with the sound,
notice the source volume level so you can repeat this same sound stage with
the audience in the room. The larger the audience the better it sounds!
