Parts and functions
Note: Port ①～⑥indicators do not function with GM-143 RJ-45 unlockable versions ( ). To
operate the locking port ( ) connection, please refer to P.6.
Advisory
1.DO NOT TURN ON the power of the GMC-60 convertor before all network cables are all
connected and installation is completed.
2.The network cable Cat.5e / Cat.6 UTP has to meet TIA/EIA-568-B.2 standards with copper
wires of 24AWG-1/0.49A*4P (CM/UL).
3.To achieve best performance and stable functionality, it’s recommended to use standard
CHIAYO CAT.5e network cables which are available in 2M, 5M and 10M length.
Do not use cables of unknown origin because they will cause unexpected system
abnormalities.
4.The chairman unit GM-243C can be located anywhere in the loop.
5.This conference system may consist of up to 120 units with max two GM-243C chairman units.
6.To prevent feedback noise, please adjust the GAIN knob to control the sensitivity of the
microphone, and set a proper output volume on the amplifier or mixer before operating the
system.
7.If it’s necessary to DIY cables, be sure to examine them with RJ-45 cable tester until they are
no problem before installation.

Instructions
Connecting GM-243 microphones
1. There are six ports on the back of convertor. Each port can be connected with max 10 GM-
243 units. Each convertor can support 60 units at most.
►►Max 10 units connected to each port (①～⑥).
2. If the GM-243 units are correctly connected to the rear port, the corresponding indicator on
the front panel will light soild.
System integration
1. When more than 60 units are required or the ports aren’t enough, GMC-60 can link to
another convertor via its rear port to support more GM-243 units.
IMPORTANT! Each system expansion max includes two GMC-60 convertors and 120 GM-
243 units. For more-unit installation, please set up another system with GMC-60 to cover the
rest GM-243 units and output the audio to the amplifier / mixer.
2. Only the GM-243C’s chairman priority function is integrated as the same system, power
supply and audio connection must be separately operated on each GMC-60 convetor (refer
to P.5).

Installation of GM-243 ≦60 units

If system includes one or two GM-243C
chairman unit, slide the SYSTEM SWITCH of
the convertor to ‘C’position.

If the system includes no GM-243C chairman
unit, slide the SYSTEM SWITCH of the
convertor to ‘S’position

Audio output
Unbalanced output
Balanced output
¼” PHONE PLUG connector provides
unbalanced audio output signal from this jack to
the mixer/amplifier. Use an audio output cable
with ¼” PHONE PLUG connectors. Connect
one end from the unbalanced output jack of the
convertor, and the other end to the “LINE IN” or
“AUX IN” jack of the mixer / amplifier.
XLR connector provides balanced audio output
signal from this jack to the mixer/amplifier. Use
an audio output cable with “XLR” or “Cannon”
connector, connect one end to the balanced
output jack of the convertor, and the other end
to the “MIC IN” jack of the mixer / amplifier.
