General Safety Instructions
Warning! Readall theinstructions. Failureto comply with thefollowing instructions
can lead to electric shocks, fires and/or serious injury. Theterm “power tool” in
thewarning text below refers to your handheld mains operated or battery operated tool.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
1. Thework area
a) Keep thework area clean and well illuminated. Clutteredand poorly lit areas invite
accidents.
b) Do not use power tools in explosive environments, e.g. near to flammable liquids,
gases or dust. Powertools generate sparks that can easily ignite dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and other bystanders away from thearea where you are using
thepower tool. Distractions can cause you to lose your concentration and control.
2. Electricalsafety
a) The power tool’s plug must fit correctly into thewall socket. Nevermodify
theplug in any way. Neveruse an adaptor together with earthed power tools.
Unmodifiedplugs and suitable wall sockets decrease therisk of electric shock.
b) Avoid physical contact with earthed objects, such as pipes, radiators, ovens or
refrigerators. Thereis an increased risk of receiving an electrical shock if your body
is earthed.
c) Do not expose thepower tool to rain or other wet conditions. Ifwater gets inside
apower tool it increases therisk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse themains lead. Neveruse thelead to carry thetool or pull theplug
from thewall socket. Keepthe lead away from heat, oil, sharp edges and movable
parts. Damagedor tangled leads increase therisk of electric shock.
e) When using power tools outdoors, use an extension lead that is suitable for this
purpose. Useof an extension lead designed for outdoor use decreases therisk
for electric shock.

3. Personalsafety
a) Pay attention to what you are doing and use common sense when using
power tools. Neveruse power tools if you are tired or under theinfluence of drugs,
alcohol or medication. Onemoment of inattention while using apower tool may
result in serious injury.
b) Wear protective clothing. Alwayswear safety glasses. Usingprotective clothing
such as dust masks, non-slip safety shoes, helmets and ear defenders when
needed decreases therisk of injury.
c) Avoid accidental starts. Makesure that thepower switch is set to OFF before
plugging thetool into awall socket. Nevercarry apower tool with your finger on
thetrigger and never connect thepower tool to awall socket when theswitch is
set to ON, since it may result in injury.
d) Remove all service tools/keys before switching on thepower tool. A service tool
left on amoving part of thepower tool may result in injury.
e) Do not overreach. Makesure you stand steady and well balanced at all times.
Thiswill allow you to have more control in unexpected situations.
f) Wear suitable clothing. Donot wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery. Keephair,
clothes and gloves away from moving parts. Loose-fitting clothes, jewellery or
long hair could become caught in moving parts.
g) If equipment for dust extraction or collecting is available make sure it is connected
and used properly. Usingtechnical aids may decrease dust related hazards.
4. Useand maintenance of power tools.
a) Do not force thepower tool. Usea power tool suitable for thework you are about
to perform. Theproper power tool will perform thetask better and safer if used
at thecorrect feed rate.
b) Never use thepower tool if thepower switch does not switch thetool on and
off properly. Allpower tools that cannot be controlled by thepower switch are
dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Unplug thelead from thewall socket before making any adjustments, changing
accessories or storing thepower tool. Theseprecautions reduce therisk of
thepower tool starting unexpectedly.
d) Store power tools that are not being used out of children’s reach. Donot allow
people who are unfamiliar with thetool or its functions to operate thetool.
Powertools can be dangerous if they fall into thehands of inexperienced users.
e) Maintaining power tools. Checkfor incorrect settings, parts that catch,
broken parts or anything else which might cause thepower tool to malfunction.
Ifsomething is damaged it must be repaired before use. Manyaccidents are
caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep tools sharp and clean. Properlymaintained cutting tools with sharp blades
are less likely to jam and are easier to control.
g) Use thepower tool, accessories and similar according to theinstructions and
in an appropriate way suitable for thetype of power tool used. Alsotake into
consideration your work environment and thetype of work to be done.

Using thepower tool for apurpose other than that for which it is intended could result
in adangerous situation.
5. Service
Repairs and service should only be performed by qualified tradesmen, and only with
original spare parts. Thisguarantees that thesafety of thepower tool is maintained.
Safety instructions specific to sanders
• Wear adust mask whenever sanding and adust extractor connected to
themachine should also be used wherever possible.
• Extra caution should be taken when sanding leaded paint, wood, metal or other
materials which produce toxic dust. Makesure any bystanders in thework area
are well protected.
• Bear in mind that wood dust can be highly flammable and easily ignitable.

Operation
This machine is designed for sanding and polishing wood, dry spackle, painted and
lacquered surfaces. Makesure that thesurfaces you plan to sand/polish are dry.
1. Standsteady and balanced, holding thesander in afirm grip.
2. Pressdown [I] on theon/off switch to turn thesander on.
3. Letthe sander come up to speed before starting to sand.
4. Turnoff thesander by pressing down [0] on theon/off switch.
Changing sanding sheets
1. Unplugthe sander from thepower outlet before changing sanding sheets.
2. Removethe old sanding sheet and replace it with anew one.
Care and maintenance
• Always keep themotor’s ventilation openings free of dust and debris.
• Clean themachine regularly using alightly moistened cloth.
Donot use abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.
Disposal
Follow local ordinances when disposing of this product.
If you are unsure how to proceed, contact your local authority.
