Ensure that all safety precautions are followe when using this electrical appliance for the proper
operation of the evice. These instructions escribe the safety precautions to be observe uring
operation. They are esigne to prevent injuries or amage to this evice.
Safety Precautions
The inner ultrasonic trans ucer is highly sensitive. Do not touch it with bare fingers or
scrape it with metal tools, or it will re uce mist output. When cleaning this area please use
a small cleaning brush, cotton swab or tooth brush. Do not use hot water as it may amage
the misting parts.
Use proper voltage - AC 110~120V 60Hz in Cana a/USA; AC 220~240V 50Hz in Europe.
Use of improper voltage may cause fire hazar or electric shock.
To prevent electric shock, o not ismantle, repair or mo ify this pro uct. Maintenance an
cleaning shoul be followe exactly as instructe in this manual. In the event of a
malfunction, please contact an authorize Clean Air Optima maintenance center.
Do not use in areas where flammable or explosive materials are store .
Do not place this evice in irect sunlight or near objects that generate high temperature
heat. The heat may cause eformation or warping of the outer casing.
Do not use the humi ifier in a room that alrea y has humi ity levels above 50% relative
humi ity. Excessive humi ity in the room gives rise to con ensation on col surfaces such
as walls or win ows.
Do not operate the unit without water in the basin.
Do not insert foreign objects into the evice. Do not touch the trans ucer or the lower
water basin when the unit is operating. Do not scratch the trans ucer. Do not touch the
mist output when pro ucing warm mist.
Do not submerge this evice in water. Water or cleaning liqui s may only be use on parts
to be cleane accor ing to the cleaning an maintenance instructions.
Only use lime scale remover or vinegar to clean mineral eposits from the basin or
trans ucer. Do not use any harsh etergents that may amage the unit.
If you smell an abnormal o our, please turn off an unplug the unit an call Clean Air
Optima technical support.
Clean an ry the evice before storage (inclu ing the removal of all water from the insi e
of the evice). Store the machine in a cool an ry place outsi e the reach of chil ren.
Do not use fabrics or other materials to cover this evice. Obstructe air inlets an outlets
will result in improper operation of this unit an may result in fire or other amage.
To prevent interference an amage to other electronic evices, this machine shoul be
place at least 1 meter away from a computer, television, ra io or other electronic
equipment.
The ultrasonic humi ifier shoul be cleane regularly for proper operation an long life. See
cleaning instructions.
The high frequency vibrations cannot be hear by humans or animals, an are completely
safe.
For safety reasons an to prevent fire or electric shock, unplug the power cor from the
electric outlet socket whenever you:
-Do not use the evice for a long perio of time.
-Remove the tank, clean or service the machine or the permanent filter.
-Move or transport the evice.
If the power cor is amage , then it must be replace by an authorize service person to prevent
electric shock or fire.

The Clean Air Optima CA-601 is equippe with a Permanent Reusable White Dust Anti-
Microbial Filter. It consists of an inner cylin er, an outer cover an a number of small plastic an
ceramic balls. The plastic balls are embe e with nano-silver, an anti-microbial agent esigne to
purify the water an estroy microbes such as bacteria an moul . The ceramic balls function to
soften the water by a hering to minerals that cause white ust. They also serve to remove any
unpleasant o our from the water. The filter requires cleaning about once a month or 1,000 hours of
use. See the Maintenance section of more information.
Operating Instructions
Before getting starte , please remove the Clean Air Optima CA-601 from its box an allow it to
become accustome to the room temperature for at least 30 minutes especially if the machine is
col from the outsi e air. The CA-601 is esigne to operate at temperatures between 5 -40 ºC
an relative humi ity of less than 80%.
To get starte , first remove the nozzele than flip the tank over an unscrew an remove the water
tank li an filter.
Then place the water tank un er the faucet for filling. Fill the tank with tap water (or other clean
water source with water temperature un er 40ºC), re-insert the li an filter. Flip the water tank
once again until it is on the right si e up. Ensure that the basin is clean an then carefully place
the water tank back on the lower bo y.
Wait a few secon s until the water tank li starts to release water into the basin. You will hear a
bubbling soun as the air enters the water tank. Plug the power cor into the electrical outlet
(NEVER SWITCH ON THE HUMIDIFIER WITHOUT WATER IN THE BASIN).
Turn the ,,Mist adjustment Knob" to the right to turn the humi ifier on. The water will be turne
into micro-fine steam trough high frequency vibration, which will be ispense into the in oor air
an irectly evaporates. Make sure that the steam oes not face electrical sockets, walls or other
objects.
Push the ,,ION/Light” button to turn the Ionizer an Le light on.
The air will be enriche with a itional negative ions. The integrate ionizer cleans an refreshes
the air with a itional negative oxygen ions. The effect is completely natural: After a summer
thun erstorm the air is fille with negative ions an especially fresh.
Amount of ions per cubic centimetre air:

In case there is no or too little water in the tank you will hear a signal.

Humi ity
The percentage of water steam in a room an the temperature are the relative air humi ity. The air
contains more or less air humi ity. The ration of water steam to the air varies with the ifferent
temperature. The higher the temperature in the room, the less water steam will be in the air. In
winter the col air from outsi e enters the room, the relative air humi ity ecreases. The air
humi ity can be increase with the Clean Air Optima air humi ifiers.

The following is not considered faulty operation:
If your water is very har (containing abnormally high levels of minerals) the humi ifier
may pro uce white ust. This is not a malfunction. The solution woul be to clean the
filter more often or use softer water.
If you stan very close to the humi ifier, you will hear the gurgling soun of water. This
is normal.
The machine operates very quietly but it is not completely silent. Noise levels less than
25 b is consi ere normal.

and reassemble the machine as it may void the warranty.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Cleaning an Maintenance
You can ensure many years of trouble free operation of your Clean Air Optima CA-601 humi ifier
by following a few simple maintenance proce ures. If your water is har , containing high
concentrations of calcium an other minerals, then over a perio of time white ust will start to
eposit on the various surfaces in the room. A white, film-like substance will also start to evelop
in the water basin, on the trans ucer an on the inner surface of the water tank. This white film
will impe e the proper function of the trans ucer an the operation of the machine.
We recommend the following
1. If your water is very har , we recommen that you boil it first, allow it to cool completely
before use in the humi ifier. The boiling will re uce the mineral concentration in the water.
The other option is to use istille water if your mineral level is still too high.
2. If you are using the machine on a aily basis, clean the trans ucer, water tank an basin
once a week.
3. When the water tank nee s a refill, empty the remaining water from the tank an fill it with
fresh water.
4. Clean the whole machine an make sure to keep all the parts completely ry when the
machine is not in use.
How to clean the transducer
1. Place 5-10 rops of vinegar on the surface of the trans ucer an wait for 2-5 minutes.
2. Using a small brush, cotton swab or tooth brush, gently clean the mineral film from the
surface of the trans ucer.
3. Rinse the trans ucer with clean water.
4. Never use sharp or soli objects for cleaning the trans uce
How to clean the water basin
1. Clean the water basin with a soft amp cloth. If there is excess film on the surfaces, then
soak the cloth with vinegar an repeat the process.
2. If there is a film in any of the epressions along the basin, rop a bit of vinegar into
epression an clean it out with a brush.
3. Rinse the basin with clean water.

How to clean the White Dust Anti-Microbial Filter
1. Remove the filter from the water tank.
2. Put some white vinegar into a glass. Soak the filter in the vinegar for about 10 minutes.
3. Remove the filter from the glass an shake it several times.
4. Clean an rinse the filter once again with fresh water.

it ry thoroughly. Then wrap it in protective packaging an keep it next to the humi ifier in a cool,

Why humi ify the Air?
