POWER SUPPLY
OPERATION OF RADIO
CASSETTE TAPE PLAYBACK
BATTERY OPERATION
- OPEN THE BATTERY DOOR AND INSERT 4 PCS "D-CELL" (UM-1/R20 TYPE)
BATTERIES. PLEASE OBSERVE THE CORRECT BATTERY POLARITIES OR
THE SET WILL NOT WORK.
- IMPORTANT:WHEN THE SET IS ONLY BEING USED WITH AC POWER OR
NOT BEING USED FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OFTIME, REMOVE THE
BATTERIES TO PREVENT LEAKAGE OR DAMAGE.
AC OPERATION
- MAKE SURE THE SET VOLTAGE OF THE UNIT MATCHES YOUR LOCAL
HOUSEHOLD VOLTAGE.
- INSERT THE TAIL-END OF THE AC-CORD INTO THE AC-SOCKET AT
THE REAR OFTHE SET.
- INSERT THE PLUG OFTHE AC-CORD INTO THE WALL OUTLET WITH
AC-POWER.
- SET THE FUNCTION SWITCH TO "RADIO" AND THE BAND SELECTOR
SWITCH TO THE DESIRED BAND.
- ROTATE TUNING KNOB TO TUNE-IN THE DESIRED STATION.
- ADJUST THE TELESCOPIC ANTENNA AND POSITION THE SET TO
OBTAIN THE BEST RECEPTION.
- ADJUST THE VOLUME KNOB TO THE DESIRED LEVEL.
- TO TURN OFF THE RADIO. SLIDE THE FUNCTION SWITCH TO "TAPE"
(OFF) POSITION, WITHOUT ANY TAPE BUTTON PRESSED.
- SLIDE THE FUNCTION SWITCH TO THE "TAPE" POSITION.
- OPEN THE CASSETTE DOOR BY PRESSING THE "STOP/EJECT"
CASSETTE BUTTON.
- INSERT APRERECORDED CASSETTE WITH THE TAPE SIDE UP, INTO
THE PROPER GUIDE RAILS ON THE INSIDE OF THE CASSETTE DOOR.
- GENTLY PUSH THE CASSETTE DOOR FORWARD(INWARDS) TO CLOSE
IT.MAKE SURE THE TAPE IS FULLY AND PROPERLY INSERTED BEFORE
DOING SO.
- PRESS THE CASSETTE PLAY BUTTON TO START PLAYBACK. NOTE THAT
THE TAPE MOVES FROM RIGHT TO LEFT.
- ADJUST THE VOLUME TO THE DESIRED LEVEL.
- THE TAPE PLAYBACK CAN BE STOPPED AT ANY TIME BY PRESSING THE
"STOP" BUTTON. WHEN THE TAPES HAS ENDED, THE SET SWITCHES
ITSELF OFF AUTOMATICALLY AND RELEASES THE PLAY BUTTON.
- PRESS THE "STOP" BUTTON FOLLOWED BY THE "REWIND" OR
"FAST-FORWARD" BUTTON TO REWIND OR FORWARD THE TAPE AT
HIGH SPEED.

-CASSETTE TAPE RECORDING
PRESERVATION OF RECORDINGS
- OPEN THE CASSETTE DOOR BY PRESSING THE "STOP/EJECT"
CASSETTE BUTTON.
- INSERT ABLANK CASSETTE WITH THE TAPE-SIDE UP, INTO
THE PROPER GUIDE-RAILS ON THE INSIDE OF THE CASSETTE DOOR.
- GENTLY PUSH THE CASSETTE DOOR FORWARD(INWARDS) TO CLOSE
IT,MAKE SURE THETAPE IS FULLYAND PROPERLY INSERTED BEFORE
DOING SO.
- THE SET IS NOW READY TO START RECORDING. WHICH CAN BE DONE
FROM EITHER LIVE SOURCE OR THE RADIO.
RECORDING FROM RADIO
- SLIDE THE FUNCTION SWITCH TO "RADIO" POSITION.
- TUNE IN THE DESIRED STATION BY TURNING THE TUNING KNOB
IF NECESSARY, EXTEND THE TELESCOPIC ANTENNA, AND ADJUST
POSITION OF THESET TO IMPROVE RECEPTION.
- PRESS THE PLAY AND RECORD BUTTONS TOGETHER.
- DUE TO THE "ALO"FUNCTION (AUTOMATIC LEVEL CONTROL) NO
FURTHER ADJUSTMENTS ARE REQUIRED. THE VOLUME CONTROL
WILL NOT AFFECT THE RECORDING.
- TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL ERASURE OF CASSETTES, SIMPLY BREAK OFF
THE TWO PLASTIC TABS LOCATEDON THE REAR EDGE OF THE
CASSETTE. WHEN ACASSETTE WITH REMOVED PLASTIC TABS IS
INSERTED, THE RECORDING BUTTON CANNOT BE DEPRESSED.
- IFA CASSETTE IS TO BE ERASED AND RE-RECORDED AT ALATER
STAGE, SIMPLY COVER THE HOLES ON THE CASSETTE WHERE
THE TABS WERE REMOVED,WITH A PIECE OF STRONG ADHESIVE TAPE.

PRESERVATION OF RECORDINGS
COBY ELECTRONICS CORP (”COBY”) warrants this product to the original
purchaser to be free from defects in material or workmanship under normal use
for 90 DAYS from the date of original purchase. COBY agress under this warranty,
to repair or replace it with a new or reconditioned product at no additional charge.
Our warranty does not cover any product which has been subject to neglect,
unreasonable use, accident, violation of operating instructions, or any product
that has been repaired or modified by an unauthorized service agent.
To obtain factory service, return this unit freight-prepaid to the address shown
below within the duration of this warranty. Enclose $6.00 for each item in form of
money order made payable to COBY ELECTRONICS CORP. To cover the cost
of shipping and handling. Also include a copy of the sales receipt to show proof of
purchase and a detailed description of the problem. The unit(s) must be packaged
in such a way as to reasonably protect it from possible shipping damaged. For

to this product shall not be exceed the sales price of this product. In no event
