Anti-drip function
Theanti-drip function enables you to iron even themost sensitive fabrics without
leaving unsightly watermarks. Sensitive fabrics should always be ironed at low
temperatures. Thesoleplate must be cool enough that no steam or drops of hot water
come out and leave water marks on thefabric.
Ironing tips
• Garments with embroidery, sequins, lace, etc., should be ironed on thelowest
temperature setting.
• For textiles made of mixed fibres (e.g. 40% cotton/60% synthetic fibre), choose
thetemperature setting appropriate for thefibre with thelowest recommended
ironing temperature.
• If you are not sure what thematerial is made of, start by ironing aninconspicuous
part of thegarment on thelowest temperature setting and increase
thetemperature gradually.
• Never iron agarment which has asweat stain or other discolouration, theheat will
iron thestain into thefabric and it will be very difficult to removeit.
• Silk, wool and synthetic fibres can get shiny stains when ironed; they should
therefore be ironed on thereverseside.
• Velvet can also become shiny when ironed; it should be ironed in thedirection of
thepile/nap. Avoidapplying alot of pressure to theiron.
• Themore clothes washed thesame time in thewashing machine, themore
wrinkles thewashed clothes willhave.
• Thehigher thespeed of thespin cycle, themore wrinkles thewashing willhave.
• Many fabrics are easier to iron when they are not completelydry. Silk, for example
should always be steam-ironed.
