Brick, tile or stone need special plugs and
drill bits. Remember to always pre-drill holes
in wood to avoid splitting.

STEP 1: INSTALLING BATTERIES
Unscrew cap from battery wand and install batteries
as shown.
Use only AA Lithium batteries* and do not mix type,
brand, or old batteries with new.

STEP 2: SELECT YOUR BATTERY WAND MOUNTING LOCATION
e position of the battery wand must be determined before installing the
shade in the window.
Make sure that the wire is long enough to reach from the battery wand to
the motor (at the right end of the head rail). Extension wires are available
if needed.
HEAD RAIL ATTACHMENT
Attach the clips to the headrail as pictured.
Be sure the rst clip is 6” from the end of the head rail and the second clip
is 12” from the rst. is will allow room for the installation brackets.
You must have at least 20” between bracket centerlines to t the battery
wand. (Solar kit wands require 24” between bracket centerlines)
Snap the battery wand into the clips.
WALL ATTACHMENT
Using one screw per clip, attach the clips to the wall as shown.
Be sure that the distance between the rst clip and the second clip is 12”.
Place the rubberband on the battery wand so that when the wand is in
the clips, the rubberbands will prevent the wand from sliding out. See
diagram to the right.

STEP 3: BRACKET INSTALLATION
INSIDE MOUNT
e minimum mounting depth for an inside mount is 1”.
A minimum of 3 3⁄4”is needed to fully recess the shading.
Make sure the brackets are level and aligned.
Attach each bracket using two screws. Inside Mount
Shallow Mount - Minimum 1”surface
Flush Mount - Minimum 3 3⁄4”surface

Shadings are shipped with the required number of brackets
for proper installation. End brackets should be located
approximately 3” from either end. Depending on the width
of the shading, additional brackets may be necessary, evenly
spaced between the two end brackets. If mounting the battery
wand to the head rail, bracket positions may need to be
adjusted to accomodate the battery wand. You must have at
least 20” for standard wand and 24” for solar wand between
bracket centerlines to t the battery wand.
Using the installation bracket as a template, measure to the
edge of the bracket and mark the hole locations with a pencil
for drilling.
Brackets must be in line and level. Shim brackets on inside
mounts if necessary. e headrail must be level for the shading
to operate properly.

SPACER BLOCKS OPTIONAL
Each spacer block projects brackets 3⁄8”away from mounting surface.
Make sure the brackets are level and aligned.
Attach using two screws. Screws should be long enough to secure the
bracket to the mounting surface. Outside Mount with Spacer Blocks

e minimum mounting height for outside mounted shadings is 1”.

STEP 4: SHADING INSTALLATION
EXTENSION BRACKETS OPTIONAL
Optional extension brackets are used to project the back of the
shading up to 2 1⁄2”from the mounting surface.
Attach the mounting bracket to the extension bracket with the
nut and bolt provided.
SIDE MOUNT OPTIONAL
Measure from window sill up to desired mounting position on
each side of the window frame. Mark position.
Mount side mount brackets on each side of window frame as
shown. Make sure to conrm the head rail will sit perfectly level.
Once side mount brackets are installed and properly positioned,
attach the mounting brackets using the nuts and bolts provided.

Center the shading in the window opening and push the head
rail into the mounting brackets as shown.
Be sure the motor power wire is not pinched by the bracket.
Adjust the antenna wire on the motor so that it is fully exposed.

STEP 5: CONNECT POWER SOURCE  BATTERY WAND/TRANSFORMER
TRANSFORMER
Note: is is an optional upgrade which replaces the reloadable battery
wand. is option may be purchased at the time of the initial order or
may be added at a later time. As with the battery wand, one transformer
powers only one motor.
Plug the transformer cable into the motor cable. If the wire is not long
enough to reach an outlet, optional 48” or 96” extension cables are
available.
Note: Make sure that the motor cable will not interfere with the operation
of the shading as this could cause damage to the shading. e cable may
be secured with tape, but DO NOT staple.
Plug the transformer into an electrical outlet.

Plug the battery wand cable into the motor cable.

operation of the shading as this could cause damage to the shading. e
cable may be secured with tape, but DO NOT staple.

OPERATION
Operate your shading with the included Somfy Hand Held Transmitter, DecoFlex Wall Switch or Scroll Wheel Remote.
Your remote has been programmed to control your shading. e upper and lower limits have been set and should not need
to be adjusted. e intermediate position has also been set. If you are not satised with the pre-set positions of your shad-
ing, you may adjust by following Advanced Programming steps A,B or C.

UP Button - press and release for shading to travel to UP position
MY/STOP Button - acts as a STOP button while shading is in
motion. If the shading is at rest, press and release the STOP/MY
button to move the shading to a fully CLOSED position. Can also be
programmed to an alternate shading position.
DOWN Button - press and release for shading to travel to DOWN
position (vanes in view through mode)
TILT Button - when shading is down, Press and HOLD the UP
button to operate in “slow mode” to tilt vanes.

Button - use to select channels
1-5. All 4 lights will illuminate
when h channel is activated

ADJUSTING MOTOR LIMITS
e pre-set lower limit of your sheer horizontal shading should allow your shading to go to the fully lowered position with
your vanes positioned horizontally (view through). Only adjust this lower position if the shading is not travelling to this
location when the DOWN button is pressed and released.

Only adjust this upper position if the shading is not travelling to this location when the UP button is pressed and released
or if a dierent UP position is desired. CAUTION: Shading material can be damaged if UP stop is set improperly.

SETTING FAVORITES
e MY position of your Sheer horizontal Shading should bring your shading to the fully lowered position with the vanes
closed for privacy mode. Only adjust this MY position if the shading is not travelling to this location when the MY button
is pressed and released or if a dierent MY (favorite) position is desired.
CONTROLLING ONE SHADING ON MULTIPLE CHANNELS OR ADDITIONAL REMOTE
Step 1: Start with the remote or channel that currently controls the
shading. If multiple shadings are already programmed to the channel
or remote, disconnect all battery cables to shadings, except for the
shading you are working with.
Step 3: Select the new remote or channel.
Step 2: TO COPY: Use a paperclip or some other small item to press
and hold the programming button until the shading jogs.
If the wrong shading jogs, you have selected the wrong channel.
Press the Programming Button you just pressed until the shading
jogs again. Select the correct channel and start again from step 1.
Step 4: TO PASTE: Use a paperclip to press and hold the programming button (on the new remote or existing remote with
new channel selected) until the shading jogs again.
Now both your original and your new remote or channel control your shading.
Do not press this button outside of this
sequence unless otherwise instructed by a
Customer Service Agent.

CREATING A GROUP
Step 1: Identify the shadings you want to put in a group. Be sure that
each shading is operated on its own remote (Telis 1) or on its own
channel (Telis 4) and then identify the remote or channel that you want
to be your group channel.
Step 2: Start with the 1st shading. Select the remote or channel that
controls the shading. Disconnect battery cables to all remaining
shadings.
TO COPY: Use a paperclip or some other small item to press and hold
the programming button until the shading jogs.
Step 3: Select the group channel or remote that will operate the new
shading group.
TO PASTE: Use a paperclip to press and hold the programming button
until the shading jogs again.
Step 4: Unplug the rst shading. Go to the 2nd shading. Plug the
battery wand into the 2nd shading. Select the remote or channel that
controls that shading. C O PY.
Step 5: Select the group channel. PASTE.
Step 6: Repeat the COPY and PASTE sequence until all the
shadings you wish to have in the group have been pasted into
the group channel. Your original channel will control the
shading individually and the group channel will now control
the shadings as a unied group.
Do not press this button outside of this
sequence unless otherwise instructed by a
Customer Service Agent.
