1. Verifythatthepumpsizetstheapplicationwithoutdramaticallyrestrictingtheow.
Consultyourlocaldealerormanufacturer’sguidelinesforthepropersizeandmodelof
ViaAqua®pump.
2. Donotreducetheinputdiameterofthepump
3. Youmustincorporateapre-lterwhenoperationforawatercirculation,waterfalls,ponds
andfountains.
4. Replacetheimpellerifthereareanysignsofdamageorexcesswear.
5. FailuretomaintainaViaAqua®pumpwillcausepermanentdamagetotheimpellerand/or
pump.Routinemaintenanceisoftheutmostimportancetokeepyoupumpworkingwell.
SUBMERSED
1. Placepumpinthedesiredlocation
2. Ifplaceinapond:Raisethepumpoffthebottomofthepondbyamin.of6incheswhen
installing.
3. UseTeontapetoconnectthethreadedpipeadaptertotheoutputofthepump.
4. Placethegasketontothebarbedpipeadapter,nowusingTeontapehandtightenthe
barbedpipeadaptertothethreadedpipetheadapter.
5. Connecttheexibletubingtothebarbedpipeadapter.Insurewatertightnesswithahose
clamp.
EXTERNAL
1. Placethepumpindesiredlocation
2. UsingTeontapeconnectthethreadedpipeadaptertotheintakeandoutputofthehydrant
waterpump.
3. Placeagasketonthebarbedpipeadapter,nowusingTeontapehandtightenthebarbed
pipeadaptertothethreadedpipetheadapter.
4. Connecttheexibletubingtothebarbedpipeadapter.Insurewatertightnesswithahose
clamp.
5. Verifythattherearenotanykinksinthetubing
6. Theintakemusthaveanadequatestrainer.Dotothewaterowofthepumpalarge
strainerisrequired.
NOTE
* Sincetherearemanymanufacturesofltrationsystems,pleaserefertothe
manufacturesinstructionsforinstallationandguidelines.
* Duetothedesignofwetanddryltrationsystemsandsumpsthereisahighamountof
evaporation.Therefore,it’stheAquarist’ssoleresponsibilitytoinsureaproperwaterlevel
thusinsuringthepumpisfullysubmersedatalltimes.
* Floatvalveswillsureaconsistentwaterlevelatalltimes.Seeyourlocaldealerformore
information.

maintenance
Toinsureaproperlyoperatingpump:Cleanpump,impellerandintakestrainerevery3weeks.
Failuretodosowillcauseprematurefailureofthepump.
1. Disconnectthepumpfromthepowersupplypriortoremovingthepumpfromthewater.
2. Removetheprelter.Rinseoutprelterspongeofdebris.
3. WithaPhilipsscrewdriverloosenthefourscrewsonthevolute.Now,removethevolute.
4. Oncethevoluteisremoved,cleanwell.Nowverifytheimpellerisfreeofalldirtand
debris.
5. Removetheimpellerandcleanwell.
6. Oncetheimpellerisremoved,slideboththeimpellerandshaftoutofthemainbodyofthe
pumpandcleanwell.Donotuseanysoapdetergentsduringcleaning.
7. Aftertheimpellerandshaftarecleaned,useasmallbrushtocleaninsideofthemotor
housing.
8. ReassembleabovepartsandyourViaAqua®pumpisagainreadytouse.Conrmthatall
thewasherandbushingareassembledproperly.Failuretodosowillcausepermanent
damagetothepump.
9. Replacetheimpellerifthereareanysignsofdamageorexcesswear.
NOTE:Ifthewaterflowistodecrease,it’saclearsignthatdebrisisinsidethe
impellerortheprefilterisclogged.Itistheaquarist’ssoleresponsibilitytoinsurethe
pumpismaintained.Failuretodosowillcausepermanentdamagetothepump.

Commodity Axis Inc.© warrants that ViaAqua® Hydrant Pump is free from defects for a period of
one year from the initial date of purchase shown in the original cash register receipt. Commodity
Axis Inc.© disclaims all other warranties of merchantability and/or tness for a particular purpose.
Although this limited warranty gives you specic rights, you may have other rights that may vary from
state to state. This Warranty is void if the failure of the ViaAqua® Hydrant Pump or any part, sealant
or component there of is due to (i) misuse, (ii) tampering, (iii) negligence, (iv) misapplication, (v)
abuse, (vi) accident and/or (vii) failure to properly (a) maintain, (b) clean, (c) pre-lter, (d) reassemble,
(e) clean and/or use the ViaAqua® Hydrant Pump with a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (G.F.C.I.).
CONSUMER REMEDIES
Commodity Axis Inc.© entire Liability and your sole exclusive remedy are either repair or replacement
of the Via Aqua® chiller only if you return the defective ViaAqua® Hydrant Pump directly to
Commodity Axis Inc.© with the original receipt in this original box along with $15.00 for shipping
and handling. Do not send the pump by insured mail. The ViaAqua® Hydrant Pump may be sent by
UPS requiring signature upon arrival. Any replacement ViaAqua® Hydrant Pump will be warranted
for remaining of the original warranty period. In not event shall any shipping charges be reimbursed.
In no event will Commodity Axis Inc. be liable for any consequential or incidental damages including,
but not limited to, loss of life, personal injury, property damage, damaged equipment, lost prots, lost
wages, lost savings, lost income, etc. arising out of the use of the ViaAqua® Hydrant Pump. Some
states do not allow for the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages,
so the above exclusion may not apply to you.
