In deze gebruiksaanwijzing vindt u stap-voor-stap instructies voor de installatie van het Conceptronic
harddisk dockingstation met eSATA.

De hieronder beschreven software-installatie kan enigszins afwijken, afhankelijk van uw computer. Dit
hangt samen met de gebruikte versie van Windows.

3. Uw CHDDOCK23E aansluiten
Voordat u uw harddisk dockingstation kunt gebruiken, moet u het op een stroombron en op uw computer
aansluiten. U kunt het dockingstation aansluiten via USB of eSATA.
NB: Wanneer het dockingstation via eSATA is aangesloten, kunt u hogere gegevenssnelheden bereiken,
maar niet iedere computer beschikt over eSATA.
A. Zorg dat de hoofdschakelaar aan de achterkant op '0' (uit) staat.
B. Sluit de lichtnetadapter aan op de DC gelijkstroomingang aan de achterkant van het dockingstation
en doe de stekker in een een stopcontact.
C. Bij gebruik van USB: Sluit de USB-kabel aan op de achterzijde van het dockingstation en een
vrije USB-poort van uw computer.
Bij gebruik van eSATA: Sluit de eSATA-kabel aan op de achterzijde van het dockingstation en een
vrije eSATA-poort van uw computer.
NB: Als u beide kabels aansluit, gebruikt het dockingstation standaard de USB-aansluiting.

4. Harddisk plaatsen
U kunt een 2,5” of 3,5” SATA harddisk in het harddisk dockingstation doen. In de onderstaande
afbeeldingen ziet u hoe u de harddisk in het dockingstation zet:

Nadat de harddisk is geplaatst, kunt u het dockingstation aanzetten met de hoofdschakelaar aan de
achterkant.
Zet de hoofdschakelaar aan de achterkant op 'I' (aan).
USB: Wanneer het dockingstation via USB op uw computer wordt aangesloten, herkent de computer de
harddisk en installeert deze automatisch. Als de harddisk een geldige partitie bevat, verschijnt
deze als verwisselbare harddisk in het venster 'Deze computer'.
eSATA: Als de eSATA-aansluiting van uw computer hot-plug functionaliteit heeft, herkent de computer de
harddisk en installeert deze automatisch. Als de harddisk een geldige partitie bevat, verschijnt
deze als verwisselbare harddisk in het venster 'Deze computer'.
Opmerking eSATA: Als uw computer niet over hot-plug functionaliteit beschikt, wordt de harddisk niet
automatisch herkend. Start in dat geval uw computer opnieuw op terwijl het
dockingstation aan staat, zodat de harddisk tijdens het opstartproces van uw
computer wordt gedetecteerd.

5. Harddisk uitwerpen
Wanneer u klaar bent met de harddisk, kunt u hem uit het dockingstation halen.
NB: Zorg dat u het dockingstation uit zet voordat u de harddisk uitwerpt!
Als u de harddisk verwijdert zonder eerst het dockingstation uit te zetten, kunt u zowel de
harddisk als het dockingstation beschadigen!
A. Zet het dockingstation uit met de aan/uitschakelaar aan de achterkant.
B. Druk op de uitwerpknop aan de bovenkant van het dockingstation.
De harddisk komt nu naar buiten en kan uit het dockingstation worden verwijderd.

3. Connecting your CHDDOCK23E
Before you can use your harddisk docking station, you need to connect it to the power and your computer.
You can connect the docking station by USB or by eSATA.
Note: When the docking station is connected by eSATA, you can achieve higher transfer speeds, but
eSATA is not available on every computer.
A. Check if the powerswitch on the backside is set to ‘0’ (off).
B. Connect the power adapter to the DC input on the backside of the docking station and to a free wall
outlet.
C. When using USB: Connect the USB cable to the backside of the docking station and to a free
USB port on your computer.
When using eSATA: Connect the eSATA cable to the backside of the docking station and to a free
eSATA port on your computer.
Note: If you connect both cables, the docking station will use the USB connection by default.

4. Inserting a harddisk
You can insert a 2,5” or 3,5” SATA harddisk in the harddisk docking station. The pictures below show you
how you can insert the harddisk in the docking station:

After the harddisk is inserted, you can power the docking station with the power switch on the backside.
Set the powerswitch on the backside to ‘I’ (on).
USB: When the docking station is connected with USB to your computer, the computer will recognize
and install the harddisk automatically. If the harddisk contains a valid partition, it will be shown
as a removable disk in your ‘Computer’ window.
eSATA: If the eSATA connection on your computer supports hot-plug functionality, the computer will
recognize and install the harddisk automatically. If the harddisk contains a valid partition, it will
be shown as a removable disk in your ‘Computer’ window.
eSATA note: If your computer does not support hot-plug functionality, the harddisk will not be
recognized automatically. Reboot your computer with the docking station turned on to
allow detection of the harddisk during the boot process of your computer.

5. Ejecting a harddisk
When you are finished with the harddisk, you can eject it from the docking station.
Note: Make sure that the docking station is turned off before you eject the harddisk!
If you eject the harddisk without turning off the docking station, you could damage the harddisk
or the docking station!
A. Turn off your docking station with the powerswitch on the backside.
B. Press the Eject button on the top of the docking station.
The harddisk will now popup and can be taken out of the docking station.
