Installation Instructions

WARNING
This product requires handling of high
voltage wiring. Please turn off your circuit
breaker and follow instructions carefully.
Turn off your circuit breakers and follow
safety precautions in order to avoid fire,
personal injury, or death.
Consult a Qualified Electrician
if you do not have experience
with high voltage wiring!

COMPATIBILITY

Is your circuit a 15amp or 20amp?
15 amp circuit supports ONLY 15 amp
In-Wall Outlet. 20 amp circuit supports both
15 amp and 20 amp In-Wall Outlet.
Turn off the circuit breaker for the outlet you
are replacing. If breakers aren’t labeled, turn
off master breaker.

TURN OFF YOUR BREAKERS
Before proceeding - Check for
power by plugging in a device
to confirm breakers are off.

REMOVE OLD OUTLET
Unscrew wall plate and outlet
from wall.
Carefully disconnect wires
attached to outlet.
Remove your existing outlet.
Before removing - Be sure the
device is not powered.

IDENTIFY & STRIP WIRES
You should see 3 types
of wires in your wall:
Line (Black)
Neutral (White)
Ground (Green)
Be sure your wires have a ½ inch
stripped at the end of each wire.
Use a proper* screwdriver to
tighten the terminal screws.
*Screwdriver should have a torque
value of 14lbf-in (16.Nm)

CONNECT IN-WALL OUTLET
Neutral Wire (White)
Line Wire (Black)
Ground Wire (Green)
To connect another device on the
same circuit, use the two middle
inputs. Be sure that the line and
neutral are installed into the
correct input location.

MOUNT IN-WALL OUTLET
Use the mounting screws provided to mount
your ConnectSense In-Wall Outlet.
Return to circuit breaker and turn on power.
POWER ON SYSTEM

TEST YOUR IN-WALL OUTLET
Test the outlet by double tapping the icons.
LED indicates a tap has been received.
INSTALLATION COMPLETE!
Download the ConnectSense app to
register your device, connect to Wi-Fi,
and begin enjoying the smart features
of the device.
To connect to HomeKit, use the Home
app or ConnectSense app on your iOS
device. A backup code is available on
the last page of this manual.

TROUBLESHOOTING
To reset your In-Wall Outlet, tap the Reset
button 3 times and hold for 15 seconds or
insert a plug and unplug it 5 times into Plug B.
