INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:
The Control4 (C4) 2-Zone Wireless Interface Module is designed to
support the control of both drapery and rollershade products. Please
find the instructions corresponding to the models to be controlled.
WhisperTrac Draperies
1. Install the WhisperTrac Drapery per the manufacturer’s
instructions. Configure and setup the WhisperTrac motor
including the limits, speed of operation and any intermediate
setpoints using standard WhisperTrac tools. Test and
confirm that it operates properly. Refer to WhisperTrac
Manual for proper procedures.
2. Disconnect power to the WhisperTrac Motor.
3. Attach an RJ45 patch cord cable (dongle) from any one of
the two ports on the bottom of the WhisperTrac Motor to Port
A on the Wireless Interface Module. NOTE: PORT A
INCLUDES THE POWER CONNECTION FOR THE
MODULE AND MUST ALWAYS HAVE A CONNECTION
SUPPLIED TO IT WITH 9-30VDC FOR OPERATION.
4. If a second window covering will be controlled through this
same Wireless Interface Module please repeat steps 1 to 3
for that window covering and connect the RJ45 dongle to
Port B on the Interface Module
If the installer and the programmer for this Module is one in the
same, then we recommend proceeding with the commissioning of
the Module before proceeding any further because of the
convenience afforded by access to the Module prior to mounting.
Otherwise proceed to Step 5.
5. If the Wireless Interface Module is attaching to the motor
then slide the Module into the slot on the window side of the
WhisperTrac Motor with the connectors pointing towards the
ceiling. Permit the bracket to extend approximately 1” below
the WhisperTrac Motor in order to optimize reception for the
antenna.
6. If required to prevent the Wireless Interface Module from
sliding off the WhisperTrac Motor then secure the module to
the Motor housing by tightening the screw on the mounting
flange nearest the Module’s connectors. DO NOT
OVERTIGHTEN
7. Route and secure the patch cords such that there is no
interference between the cords and the operation of the
drapery.
8. Re-connect the power supply cord to the WhisperTrac Motor
and any other second window covering.
9. Test operation of the drapery using the pushbutton on the
front of the Wireless Interface Module. A momentary button
press on the pushbutton will toggle the position of both
window coverings attached to the Interface Module. If a
window covering is already in motion a button press will
cause the window covering to stop. If no movement is
observed then try pushing the button a second time
momentarily in order to toggle the direction command of the
Interface Module so that it is synchronized with the drapery
position.
10. The WhisperTrak Motor and drapery is now ready for
operation. Once the Module is commissioned it will be
capable of being operated over the Control4 Network.
Wall Mount for Rollershades and Drapery Applications
For Mounting to drywall please follow steps 1 thru 5 above and
then using a pair of cutters remove the Alignment Guides on the
back of the unit. Install per the drawing below. Finally follow steps
9 and 10 to test the operation of the window covering by the
Interface Module and ultimately through the Control4 Network.
