TAMPER-RESISTANCE
ModelsWT105 includeatamper-resistantcapability
thatpreventstheirremovalfromthebracketwithout
theuseofatool.
TESTING
Beforetesting,notifytheproperauthoritiesthatthe
systemisundergoingmaintenance,andwill
temporarilybeoutofservice.Disablethesystemto
preventunwantedalarms.
All sensorsmustbetestedafterinstallation and
periodicallythereafter.Testingmethodsmustsatisfy
theAuthorityHavingJurisdiction(AHJ).Sensors
offermaximumperformancewhentestedand
maintainedincompliancewithNFPA72.
Thesensorcanbetestedinthefollowingways:
DirectHeatMethod(Hairdryerof1000 –1500 watts)
1. Fromthesideofthedetector,directtheheattowardthe
sensor.Holdtheheatsourceabout6inches(15cm)away
topreventdamagetothecoverduringtesting.
2. TheLEDsonthedetectorshouldlightwhenthe
temperatureatthedetectorreachesthealarmsetpoint.If
theLEDsfail to light, checkthepowerto thedetectorand
thewiringinthedetectorbase.
3. Resetthedetectoratthesystemcontrolpanel.
Detectorsthatfail thesetestsshouldbecleanedas
describedunderMAINTENANCEandretested.Ifthe
detectorsstill fail theseteststheyshouldbereturnedfor
repair.
MAINTENANCE
NOTE:Beforecleaningnotifytheproperauthoritiesthat
thesystemisundergoing maintenance,andthereforethe
systemwill temporarilybeoutofservice.Disablethe
looporsystemundergoingmaintenance toprevent
unwantedalarms.
Itisrecommendedthatthesensorberemovedfromits
mountingbaseforeasiercleaningandthatsensorsbe
cleanedatleastonce ayear.Useavacuumcleanerto
removedustfromthesensingchamber.
THREE-YEAR LIMITEDWARRANTY
ConvoySecuritywarrantsitsenclosedsmokedetectortobefreefromdefectsinmaterialsandworkmanshipundernormaluseandservice foraperiodofthree years
fromdateofmanufacture. ConvoySecuritymakesnootherexpress warrantyforthissmokedetector.Noagent,representative, dealer,oremployee oftheCompany has
the authoritytoincrease oralterthe obligationsorlimitationsofthisWarranty. The Company’sobligationofthisWarrantyshall be limitedtothe repairorreplacementof
any partofthesmokedetectorwhichisfoundtobedefectiveinmaterialsorworkmanshipundernormaluseandservice duringthethree yearperiodcommencing with
thedateofmanufacture. AfterphoningConvoySecurity’stechnicalsupportnumberforaReturnAuthorization number,senddefectiveunitspostageprepaidtoConvoy
Securitylocalrepresentativeoffice. Pleaseincludeanotedescribingthemalfunction andsuspectedcauseoffailure.TheCompanyshall notbeobligatedtorepairor
replace unitswhicharefoundtobedefectivebecauseofdamage, unreasonableuse, modifications,oralterationsoccurring afterthedateofmanufacture. Inno caseshall
theCompanybeliableforany consequentialorincidentaldamagesforbreachofthisorany otherWarranty,expressedorimpliedwhatsoever,evenifthelossordamage
iscausedby theCompany’snegligence orfault.Somestatesdonotallowtheexclusion orlimitation ofincidentalorconsequentialdamages,sotheabovelimitation or
exclusionmaynotapplytoyou.ThisWarrantygivesyouspecific legalrights, and you mayalsohave otherrightswhichvaryfromstate tostate.
FCCSTATEMENT
Thisdevice complieswithpart15 oftheFCC Rules.Operationissubjecttothefollowing twoconditions:(1)Thisdevice maynotcauseharmfulinterference, and(2)
thisdevice mustacceptanyinterference received, including interference thatmaycauseundesiredoperation.
NOTE:ThisequipmenthasbeentestedandfoundtocomplywiththelimitsforaClass Bdigitaldevice,pursuanttoPart15oftheFCC Rules. Theselimitsaredesigned
toprovidereasonableprotection againstharmfulinterference inaresidentialinstallation.Thisequipmentgenerates,usesandcanradiateradiofrequencyenergy and,
ifnotinstalledandusedinaccordance withtheinstructions,maycauseharmfulinterference toradiocommunications.However,thereisnoguarantee thatinterference
will notoccurinaparticularinstallation.IfthisequipmentdoescauseHarmfulinterference toradioortelevisionreception,whichcanbedeterminedby turning the
equipmentoff andon, the userisencouragedtotrytocorrectthe interference byoneormore ofthe followingmeasures:
–Reorientorrelocate the receiving antenna.
–Increase theseparation betweenthe equipmentandreceiver.
–Connectthe equipmentintoanoutleton a circuit differentfromthattowhichthereceiverisconnected.
