• The thermostat automatically regulates the temperature inside the freezer,
depending on what number you have turned the thermostat control dial to:
Position <0> means that the appliance is off and all indicator lights are off.
Position <1> provides the highest temperature inside the freezer.
Position <7> provides the lowest temperature inside the freezer.
Ideally, the thermostat should be set to a position between <3> to <4>.
The freezer can cool down to -18 °C and lower.
Note!
The ambient temperature of the room, the temperature of food and the
amount of food that has been placed in the appliance and how often the
door is opened, will all affect the temperature being maintained by the
appliance.
• On the maximum setting (position <7>), the compressor of your freezer will
work continuously to maintain a lower temperature, which will result to more
energy-consuming. Please switch the thermostat dial to between <3> to <4>
during normal use.

Operation
The freezer drawer
Note!
The freezer drawers are suitable for freezing fresh food and storing
frozen food and deep-frozen food for a long time.
Freezing fresh food
• Temperature of the freezer drawer must have already reached -18 °C (or lower)
before storing frozen food or freezing fresh food.
• The freezer is only able to freeze a certain quantity of food at one time. The
maximum amount of food that can be frozen in 24 hours is specied on the
rating plate, a label located on the inside of the appliance.
• The freezing process lasts 24 hours. Do not add other food to be frozen during
this period.
• After 24 hours, please check that the fresh food is satisfactorily frozen. If it is
then the thermostat should be turned down to its normal setting (between <3>
and <4>).
• Warm food should be allowed to cool down before freeze. If place warm food in
the freezer, the increased humidity will cause quicker ice formation and increase
the amount of power that the appliance uses.
• Fresh food should be packed into airtight containers or packaging. This will help
to make sure that the food doesn’t dry out or lose its avour. It will also ensure
that avour does not transfer to/from other foods.
• Do not allow fresh food to touch items that are already frozen.
Storing frozen food
• When rst starting-up or after a period out of use, let the appliance run at least 2
hours on the higher settings before putting the product in the compartment.
• The guidance of the food manufacturer should be followed, in regard to the
maximum storage time.
Thawing
• Deep-frozen or frozen food, prior to be used, can be thawed in the freezer
compartment or at room temperature, depending on the time available for this
operation.
• Small pieces may even be cooked still frozen direclty from the freezer. In this
case, cooking will take longer.
• Thawed foods must not be frozen for a second time.

The freezer drawer
Warning!
In the event of accidental defrosting, for example, the power has been
off for longer than the value shown in the technical characteristics chart
under "rising time", the defrosted food must be consumed quickly or
cooked immediately and then re-frozen (after cooked.)
Tips on freezing
• Freezer bags, polythene wraps, aluminium foil (extra thick) and special cans for
frozen foods are suitable packaging for storing frozen goods in.
• Tape, rubber bands or plastic clips are suitable for sealing bags and wrappings.
• Before sealing a suitable bag, please compress the air out of it, as this will help
the food to freeze more easily.
• Flat packages freeze more easily.
• Prepare food in small portions to enable it to be rapidly and completely frozen
and to make it possible subsequently to thaw only the quantity required.
• Do not allow fresh, unfrozen food to touch food which is already frozen, avoiding
a rise in temperature of the latter.
• If you are freezing liquid, then do not ll the container to the rim. Liquids will
expand when being frozen.
Note!
Do not place bottles (glass or tin) containing liquids (especially sparkling
liquids) into the freezer as they could cause the bottle to burst during
freezing.
Making ice cubes
• Fill an ice cube tray with water and place it in the freezer compartment.
• After the water is completely frozen and turned to ice, twist the ice cube tray to
dispense the ice:

Operation
Saving energy when using your freezer
Installing
• Install the appliance in a cool position. If it is placed in direct sunlight or next to
an oven or other heat source, the energy consumption can increase substantially.
• Ensure the appliance is installed with the correct ventilation requirements.
Restricting ventilation can increase the energy consumption.
Cleaning and maintenance
• Clean the door gasket with warm water or a neutral detergent that leaves no
residue. A tight-sealing door gasket is critical to the efciency of your appliance.
Usage
• Do not open the door repeatedly or more frequently than you have to.
• Do not set the thermostat too low. A change of just one degree can effect the
energy consumption. Use a thermometer to check the temperature.
• Allow food to sufciently cool before putting it in the appliance.
• In the freezer, food packages should be scattered and never grouped or stacked
together until they are completely frozen.
• If you are going away for a long period of time, turn off the appliance, empty and
clean it and leave the door ajar.
• If you have a second appliance that is not used, make sure that it is stored with
the power off and the door left ajar until it is actually required.
Disposal
• If you're going to throw out your old freezer, see if there's a chlorouorocarbons
(CFCs) recycler in your area. The government department which looks after the
environment in your area may be able to help you.

Warning!
Please ensure that your appliance is disconnected from your mains
supply before attempting to clean it.
• Do not clean the appliance by pouring water onto it or spraying water over it.
• The freezer compartment should be cleaned periodically, using a solution of
bicarbonate of soda and lukewarm water.
• Clean the accessories separately with soap and water. Do not clean them in a
dishwasher.
• Do not use abrasive products, detergents or soaps.
• Check the water drain hole on the rear wall of the refrigerator compartment.
• Clean a blocked drain hole with the aid of something like soft green peg, be
careful not to make any damage to the cabinet by sharp objects.
• After washing the appliance, wipe over the area that you have cleaned with a
damp cloth and then dry it thoroughly.
• When cleaning is complete, dry your hands and then reconnect the plug to your
mains supply.
Defrosting
The frost in the freezer compartment should be removed manually.
Note!
The freezer compartment should be defrosted at least once a month.
The number of times that you need to defrost will depend on the setting
of your thermostat, and how much food you freeze and store in the
freezer compartment.
• Before defrosting, take the food out or put them into the fresh food compartment
temporarily.
• Set the thermostat control dial to <0>, then the compressor will stop working.
• Leave the door of the refrigerator open until ice and frost dissolve thoroughly
and accumulate at the bottom of the freezer chamber. You can place a bowl of
warm water (about 50 oC) inside the freezer compartment to speed up the defrost
process.
• Wipe off the water with soft cloth.
• After drying the compartment, with dry hands, reconnect your appliance to your
mains supply and set the thermostat control dial to position <6> or <7> for about

Troubleshooting
Note!
If your freezer appears not to be operating properly, before contacting
the Customer Services, please refer to the checklist below.
