GETTING STARTED PARTS & ASSEMBLY
Remove the soup maker and
accessories from the box.
Remove any packaging from
the product.
Place the packaging inside
the box and either store or
dispose of safely.
Before using the soup maker
for the first time wipe down
the jug and lid with a damp
cloth using a mild detergent.
Dry thoroughly before use.
Do not immerse the unit or
the jug in water or any other
liquids.
Caution: the jug contains very
sharp blades and should be
handled with care at all
times.
The soup maker has two
programmed soup settings to create a chunky or smooth soup and also has a reheat function
enabling precooked soup to be reheated before serving.
The built-in blender blades can be used to allow the soup maker to be used solely as a
blender to make purees, dips and dressings.
The soup maker is fitted with several safety features including an interlocking lid cut-out, a
minimum liquid sensor, a hot liquid overflow sensor for safe use at all times and safety
micro-switch cut-off on the motor base.
BEFORE STARTING COOKING
Place the base unit of soup maker on a flat, heat-resistant, stable surface. Carefully position
the jug on the base unit aligning the connections in the base of the jug handle with those in
the base unit, ensuring the jug is secure.
Plug the soup maker to the mains power supply, fill with liquid to desired level (must be
above “WATER MIN.” marking on jug) and fit the lid to the soup maker by aligning the
“Close/Power on” symbol on the lid with the line on the top of the handle.
Once aligned, turn the lid in the direction of the arrows on the lid until the lid lock symbol
aligns with the line on the handle. Ensure the measuring cup stopper is fitted to the top of
the lid.
Press the START/STOP button to turn the soup maker on. The button will illuminate indicating
the soup maker is on. If at this point the alarm sounds, disconnect the soup maker from the
mains power supply and check that the lid is properly fitted and the fluid level is correct as
described on trouble shooting, then re-connect to the mains and power up.

INSTALLATION OF THE STAINLESS STEEL FILTER
The stainless steel filter divides the jug into 2 sections and fits around the raised ring in the base of
the jug. The inner section is used to make smoothies, soya milk, porridge or for mixing food, and the
outer section makes chunkier foods. For soya milk and smoothies, the fine blend section (marked
“Soya”) should be at the bottom of the jug. For soups and porridge, the coarser blend section
(marked “Soup”) should be at the bottom.
The outer section separates chunks from foods being blended so is essential for making chunky
soups. Make sure the total volume of ingredients added is above the minimum level required but not
more than 1700ml, ensuring the internal sensor near the base of the jug is covered with liquid.
Under-filling the soup maker jug will result in the alarm sounding and the unit failing to operate and
should the boiling action during cooking cause the hot contents to reach the lid, the upper sensor
will switch off the heating function to help prevent boiling over.

Soup Maker START/STOP control
Note: Cooking times above are approximate and are for reference only.

Press the “START/STOP” button, the indicator flashes, load ingredients, choose the type of cooking
operation to confirm, the soup maker will beep 3 times which means the cooking process has already
started.
Making a smooth soup takes around 25 minutes while chunky soup, porridge or soya milk takes
around 30 minutes. When the cooking or blending is complete, the soup maker will beep for several
seconds and the indicators will blink.
During the cooking process, if the indicators blink and beep continuously it means an error has
occurred. Check the following:
1) Lid may not be properly locked.
2) There may be insufficient water inside the jug. The over-dry sensor may have activated.
3) Jug may not be properly placed in its main body which may have activated the safety micro-
switch.
4) Heating base and/or motor may have over-heated and the overloading safety switch may
have activated. Separate the jug from the base and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
5) Water or liquids may have exceeded the MAXIMUM level and the hot liquids overflow sensor
may have activated.
6) Water or liquid may be below the MINIMUM level and the Minimum liquid safety sensor
may have activated.
To completely stop the program at any time, simply press the START/STOP button.
Note: the programs rely on uninterrupted operation. Any interruption will result in the cancellation
of the program. Restarting a program will result in the cooking stages being repeated which may
affect the final recipe. Programs cannot be resumed once they have been stopped.
Any ingredients to be added during the cooking process can be added through the food chute in the
centre of the lid. Do not unlock or remove the lid as this will stop the program.
WARNING: heat/steam will be emitted from the lid. Care must be taken when removing the lid and
food chute.
Once the program has finished, the soup maker will sound an audible alarm and stop heating. Soup
can be poured straight from the jug. Be careful when removing the lid from the jug as it will be very
hot.
Pulse
After pressing “START/STOP” to put the machine on standby, press and hold the “Pulse” button to
blend. Release the button to stop.
Boiling
Fill water to between WATER MIN and BOIL MAX mark on the jug and add ingredients. Boil for
around 15 minutes.

Soup Making
Caution: it is not recommended to use uncooked meats in the soup maker. Any meat or fish must be
precooked. Do not add any frozen ingredients.
Making chunky soup
Install the stainless steel filter in the jug with the soup filter at the bottom. Chop all ingredients into
chunks and add the ingredients to remain as chunks to the outer section of the jug and the
ingredients to be blended into the inner section of the jug. Add your preferred liquid or stock to the
jug; all liquids and stocks used must be at room temperature rather than warm or hot.
Press the “Soup Chunky” button. The filter will protect the chunks from being blended with the rest
of the ingredients.
Making smooth soup
Chop all ingredients into chunks and add to the jug without the stainless steel filter fitted. Press the
“Soup Smooth” button.
Making smoothies
Add your preferred liquid to the jug with chopped ingredients and with the fine blend stainless steel
filter fitted. Press the “Smoothie” button.
Reheating
Cold soup can be reheated in the soup maker. Simply set up the soup maker as previously described
and add the cooked soup to the jug ensuring the volume is no less than the minimum and no more
than the maximum. Ensure the lid is correctly fitted and press the reheat button.
The reheat program will follow the sequence below:
Heating-Mixing-Heating-Mixing-Heating
This process will continue to follow the above cycle until the soup is heated and reaches the
optimum temperature of 65°C-75°C, ready to serve. The audible alarm will then sound.
The time taken to complete this process will depend on the temperature and volume of the soup
added but will be approximately 5-8 minutes.
WARNING: The reheating process is not a cooking function. All soups used in this process must be
precooked.
Blending
The soup maker can also be used as a blender; simply set up the soup maker as before and add moist
ingredients for blending. Make sure the lid is correctly fitted and press the blend button to start the
BLEND program.

Note: It is important that your ingredients reach a minimum depth of 3-4cm so that the safety cut-
out sensor does not activate and are no more than the MAXIMUM. It is NOT possible to blend dry
ingredients, as the sensor will not recognise them.
The blend cycle is a repeating 20-25 seconds high-speed blend with a slight rest. To stop the cycle
press the blend button again, or press START/STOP button.
