COP-USA WE-7020S Quick setup guide

WE-7020S & POS Integration Guide
V1.1.05
1. Introduction
WE-7020S is designed for Wit-Eye series DVRs to integrated with other devices that
adopt RS-232 as the output interface(ex. POS, ATM, Access Control System, etc.). The
basic functions of WE-7020S is that it can auto-capture the text info of RS-232 Output
devices, and superimpose them onto the correspondent DVR’s real-time monitoring
images, remote monitoring images and recording images. To change the format of text
info, to use keywords to search recording files, or enable the alarm mechanism, users
have to provide the device related information such as the devices type, brand name,
model number, userಬs manuals, output data format of RS-232, etc. Softwell will assistant
users to develop their requirements according to the information that was offered.
2. Integration Architecture
Wit-Eye Digital Video Recorder can be integrated with POS system via WE-7020S (One
DVR can be connected with 16 POS systems through 16 WE-7020S devices).
WE-7020S can filter ASCII text info from POS system, and transfer them to readable
text info, then send those data from POS to DVR via TCP/IP. DVR system would
organize and superimpose the text info onto designated screen.
NOTE:

1. Please confirm that the DVR version is V3.652 or after. This device can be only applied
to RS-232 interface, but no Printer Port interface.
2. WE-7020S can filter ESCP/2 code, it can only accept characters(including Chinese
Big-5), but no figures(Bitmap).
3. Hardware Installation and Software Settings
Hardware Installation
The main function of WE-7020S is to intercept signals that POS device transmits
to printer side, so users have to set the argument (Baud Rate, etc.) the same with POS
Printer. (Note: Definitions of TX(transmitted), Rx(Received), GND(signal ground) are
different with DB9 and DB25.)
