IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
DO’S
• Read ALL the instructions before installing or using this safe.
• Only use this Safe for its intended use as described in this manual.
• Ensure the Safe is installed where there is sufficient load bearing capacity.
• Always install the Safe in accordance with this guide. If in doubt obtain expert
advice.
DON’TS
• Do not use or store the Safe outdoors.
• Do not attempt to modify or make repairs to the Safe.
• Do not attempt to power this product by the introduction of a separate
power supply other that supplied.
BATTERY CAUTION
• Use of rechargeable batteries is not recommended for this product.
• Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
• Only use batteries of the same or equivalent type to those recommended.
• Take special care to ensure the batteries are inserted correctly, observing
polarity.
• Avoid short circuiting the contacts of the battery housing or the battery
terminals.
• Remove exhausted batteries from product.
• Remove the battery from the product if storing for long periods.
• Remove the battery if the product is to be scrapped.
• Dispose of exhausted batteries safely and never dispose of batteries in a fire.

INTRODUCTION
Thank you for choosing this Corby Safe. The product has been designed to meet
the most stringent quality, performance, and safety requirements.
This Safe is perfectly suited to the requirements of a hotel guest-room.
HANDLING
Before continuing any further with the installation of this safe please read the
following:
• When lifting always keep your back straight. Bend your legs and not your back.
• Avoid twisting at the waist. It is better to reposition your feet.
• Avoid upper body / top heavy bending. Always bend from the knees rather
than the waist.
• Do not lean forward or sideways whilst handling the Safe.
• Always grip with the palm of the hand. Do not use the tips of fingers for
support.
• Always keep the product as close to the body as possible to prevent
unnecessary and undue strain on the body.
• Use gloves to provide additional grip.
• Always use assistance if required.

INSTALLATION
Always bolt your Safe down
(1) Choose a location for the Safe that is preferably concealed from view
(2) Take care that there is sufficient floor load bearing capacity.
(3) If installing the Safe in a cupboard or closet, make sure that its load bearing
capacity is sufficient and that a secure anchorage point can be made through
to the wall or floor.
(4) Make sure that there is no plumbing or wiring below or behind the chosen
location.
(5) Use more than one fixing point to secure the safe.
(6) When the Safe is to be anchored to a wood floor, ensure at least one of the
anchorage points is into a joist/support beam rather than just the floorboards.

Install 4 x AA batteries into the battery pack.

(1) Close the door
(2) Enter your 3-6 digit code, press #

(1) Enter your 3-6 digit code
NOTE: If the wrong code is entered, the display will show ‘ERROR’. If the wrong code is
entered 4 times, the safe will shut down for 15 minutes.
USING MANAGER CODE
To Open
(1) Enter default Manager code, press #
CHANGING MANAGER CODE
When the safe is open:
(1) Press (‘PROG’ will display)
(2) Input Manager code (‘NEU’ will display)
(3) Input NEW 6 digit Manager code (‘AGAIN’ will display)
(4) Re-enter NEW 6 digit Manager code (‘DONE’ will display)
Manager code has been changed.
EMERGENCY OPEN/BATTERIES REQUIRE CHANGING:
(1) Remove the key cover (shown on page 4) by pulling it towards you
(2) Insert key and turn clockwise to open the door
(3) Remove the key and replace the key cover
(4) Replace batteries if necessary
IMPORTANT:Always keep the safe keys in a secure location.

Factory setting codes
Guest code (4-6 digits): 1234
Manager code(6 digits): 123456 (requires CEU)
First opening
• Install 4x AA batteries into the external power supply.
• Plug the external power supply into USB In port on the safe door.
• Input the factory setting guest code.
• The door will automatically open.
• Remove the batteries from the external power supply and place into the safe
door battery pack.
Changing manager code
Refer to CEU section at the end of this manual.
USE
To Close:
(1) Input your personal 4-6 digit code.
(2) Close the door, then press “lock”.
To Open:
(1) Input your own 4-6 digit code.
(2) The door will automatically open.
Emergency Open:
(1) Wait 15 minutes from the time the code has been incorrectly inputted 3
times. (This is a safety feature).

(2) Carefully remove the “user’s instructions” section on the safe front to reveal a key
hole.
(3) Using the keys supplied open the safe.
(4) With the key still in the safe, type “1234lock”.
(5) Close the door and remove the key.
The safe is now reset to the original factory password of 1234.
IMPORTANT: Always keep the safe keys in a secure location.

“o-ON”: Enable the password hidden function
“o-OFF”: Disable the password hidden function
“LO-BAT”: Low Battery
“CLOSE”: Closing
“CLOSED”: Closed
“OPEN”: Opening
“OPENED”: Opened
“NEW”: Need to input new password
“AGAIN”: Need to input the same password again
“DONE”: Done
“HOLD(1-15)”: The door is locked (1-15 minutes) wrong password inputted multiple times
“E-CODE”: Error password
“E-RUN” —— Can not open normally. The lock is stuck.
SOLUTION: Push the door to allow more space for the lock move.
“B-LOC” —— Can not close normally. The lock is stuck.
SOLUTION: Push the door to allow more space for the lock move.
ERROR CODES - Whitehall / SFE0004 / 2042A-1
“BA-HI”: Battery is OK
“BA-LO”: Low battery
“CLOLSE-”: The lock is closing
“CLOSED”: The lock is closed
“OPEN”: The lock is opening
“OPENED”: The lock is opened
“NEW”: Need to input a new password
“AGAIN”: Need to input the same password again
“DONE”: Done
“ERROR” -- Password is not correct
“ERROR1” -- Can not open normally. The lock is stuck.
SOLUTION: Push the door to allow more space for the lock to move.
“ERROR2” -- Can not close normally. The lock is stuck.

USE
TURN ON THE CEU
Put 4x AAA batteries in the CEU.
Press and hold for 2 seconds.
TURN OFF THE CEU
Press and hold for 2 seconds.

SET CLOCK
Important: To ensure accurate data records the clock on CEU must be set and
synchronised with the safe box when installed.
(1) Press ▼or ▲on CEU to choose 7.CommMode, and press OK to enter
submenu. Then press ▼or ▲and choose 1. IO-A, and press OK.
(2) Connect CEU to safe using Micro USB Cable. After CEU turns on, Press ▼or ▲
to choose 2.Setclock, and press OK to enter into submenu.
(3) Press ▼or ▲to choose 1.SetClock and press OK to set time.

B. Press OK to save setting and return back to main menu
(4) Press ▼or ▲to choose 2.SynClock, and press OK to synchronize time
between CEU and safe.
(5) Press return back to main menu.
READING SAFE RECORDS
(1) Press ▼or ▲on CEU to choose 7.CommMode, and press OK to enter
submenu. Then press ▼or ▲and choose 1. IO-A, and press OK.
(2) Connect CEU with safe using Micro USB Cable. After CEU turns on, press ▼or
▲to choose 1.Records, and press OK to enter into submenu.
* Direct printing from CEU not available on
this model. To print records see page 8.

(3) Press ▼or ▲on CEU to choose 1.ReadRecord, and press OK. This will copy the
safes records to the CEU. Note: Only one safes data can be stored on the CEU at a
time.
(4) The CEU can now be disconected from the safe.
(5) To view the records stored on the CEU enter the 1.Records menu, then press ▼
or ▲to choose 2.CheckRecord, and press OK to view the records stored on the
CEU. Use ▼or ▲to scroll through the records. Press to return back to previous
menu.
(6) To view the view the records on a PC follow the instructions on Page 6
Communication With PC.
(7) To delete the records stored on the CEU enter the 1.Records menu, then press
▼or ▲to choose 3.DeleteRecord, press OK to delete the data.
SET SAFE ADMIN CODE
IMPORTANT:It is not necessary to change administration
code. The code is used for communication between the CEU
and safe. The safe and CEU admin codes must be the same,
otherwise the CEU will not be able to read the records from
the safe. If changing the administration code, keep a record
of the new code and the old code.
(1) Press ▼or ▲on CEU to choose 7.CommMode, and press OK to enter submenu.
Then press ▼or ▲and choose 1. IO-A, and press OK.
(2) Connect CEU with safe using Micro USB Cable. After CEU turns on, press ▼or ▲
to choose 3.SetAdminCode, and press OK to enter into submenu.
(3) Choose 1. ModifyCasePin and press OK to modify case pin.
(4) Input 6 digit factory setting manager code (123456)and press OK.
(5) Input new 6 digit code and press OK.
(6) Input the new 6 digit code again. The screen will show success or failure.
SET CEU ADMIN CODE
(1) Turn on CEU, press ▼or ▲to choose 3.SetAdminCode, and press OK to enter
into submenu.
(2) Press ▼or ▲to choose 2. ModifyCeuPin, press OK to modify CEU pin.
(3) Input 6 digit code, and press OK. Please make sure the CEU pin is the same as
the safe admin code.
OPEN SAFE
(1) Connect CEU with safe using Micro USB Cable.
(2) Choose 4. OpenSafe and press OK. The safe door will open.

SET LAMP
The LED lamp will automatically turn on when the safe door is opened. To dissable
or enable the LED lamp follow the procedure below;
(1) Connect CEU with safe using Micro USB Cable. After the CEU starts work, press
▼or ▲to choose 5.SetLamp, and press OK.
(2) Follow the above to reverse the setting.
SET COMMUNICATION MODE
(1) Connect CEU with safe using Micro USB Cable. After CEU turns on, press ▼or
▲to choose 7.CommMode, and press OK to enter into submenu.
(2) Choose the desired communication mode, and press OK (modes explained
below).
IO-A is for communication between the CEU and the safe.
IO-B is not used on this safe.
PC is for communication between the CEU and a computer.
COMMUNICATION WITH PC
IMPORTANT: Digital Safe Software and Drivers must be
downloaded and installed from
https://www.corbyofwindsor.com/software/hotel-safe-softwar
e.zip for the CEU to be able to communicate with a PC.
READING DATA
(1) Go to https://www.corbyofwindsor.com/software/hotel-safe-software.zip
The hotel safe software will automatically begin downloading.
(2) The following warning may appear;
If so, click on the arrow and select Keep.
(3) Click on the download file to open.

(4) Open the folder Hotel Safe.
(5) Double click on Driver.exe.
(6) Click Install.
(7) Once intallation is complete click OK.

(8) On the CEU Select CommMode PC. The CEU will now be able to
communicate with the PC.
(9) Plug the CEU into the PC using the USB to USB cable.
(10) Double click on HotelSafe.exe. The software will then open.
(11) Ensure the CEU is plugged into the PC and the communication mode is set
to PC. Select Yes to search for the CEU.
SAVE RECORDS
(1) Follow Reading Data stages 1-14 (pages 6-8).
(2) Select Save As. The data will be saved as a .csv file which can be opened in
Microsoft Excel.
PRINT RECORDS
(1) Follow Reading Data stages 1-14 (pages 6-8).
(2) Select Print.Now follow the instructions on the print dialogue.
(12) Select OK.(14) A message will show how
many data entries are stored.
Select Yes to download the data.
(13) Select Read.
