I. GENERAL OPERATION
• Read,understand,andfollowall
instructionson the machineandin the
manualbeforestarting.
• Donotputhandsorfeet nearrotating
partsor underthemachine.Keepclear
of thedischargeopeningat alltimes.
• Onlyallowresponsibleadults,who are
familiarwith the instructions,to operate
themachine.
• Cleartheareaof objectssuch as
rocks,toys,wire,etc., whichcouldbe
pickedup andthrownbytheblades.
• Besurethe areaisclearof bystand-
ers beforeoperating. Stopmachineif
anyoneentersthearea.
• Nevercarrypassengers.
• Donotmow inreverseunlessabso-
lutelynecessary.Alwayslookdown
andbehindbeforeandwhilebacking.
• Neverdirectdischargedmaterial
towardanyone.Avoiddischarging
materialagainstawallor obstruction.
Materialmayricochetbacktowardthe
operator.Stopthebladeswhen cross-
inggravelsurfaces.

• Dataindicatesthatoperators,age60
years andabove,areinvolvedin a
largepercentageof riding mower-re-
latedinjuries. Theseoperatorsshould
evaluatetheir abilitytooperatethe
ridingmowersafelyenoughto protect
themselvesandothersfromserious
injury.
• Followthe manufacturer'srecommen-
dationfor wheelweightsor counter-
weights.
• Keepmachinefreeof grass, leavesor
other debrisbuild-upwhichcantouch
hotexhaust/engine parts and burn.
Do not allow the mower deck to plow
leaves or other debris which can cause
build-up to occur. Clean any oil or fuel
spillage before operating or storing the
machine. Allow machine to cool before
storage.
