Thismachineisequippedwithaninternalcombustionengineand
shouldnotbe usedonor nearanyunimprovedforest-covered,
brush-coveredorgrass-coveredlandunlesstheengine'sexhaust
systemisequippedwitha sparkarrestermeetingapplicablelocalor
statelaws(ifany)
Ifa sparkarresterisused,itshouldbemaintainedin effectiveworking
orderbytheoperator.IntheStateofCaliforniatheaboveis required
bylaw(Section4442oftheCaliforniaPublicResourcesCode).Other

STOPPING THE ENGINE
1. Runtheenginefora fewminutesbeforestoppingtohelpdryoffany
moistureon theengine.
2. Tostoptheengineremovetheignitionkeyandstoreitin a safe
place.
3. Wipeall thesnowandmoistureawayfromtheenginecontrols
area.
Toavoidcarbonmonoxidepoisoning,makesuretheengineis
outdoorsin awelPventilatedarea.

Tochecktheadjustmentof theshaveplate,placethemachineona
levelsurface.Thewheels,shaveplateandaugersshouldallcontact
thelevelsurface.Notethatiftheshaveplateisadjustedtoohigh,
snowmayblowundertheaugerhousing.Iftheshaveplatewearsout
excessively,orthesnowthrowerdoesnotseBpropel,theshaveplate
maybetoolowandneedsto beadjusted.
NOTE:On newsnowthrowersor machineswitha newshaveplate
installed,theaugersmaybeslightlyofftheground.
Toadjusttheshaveplateproceedasfollows:
1. Drainthegasfromthesnowthrower.
2. Pullthestartercorduntilresistanceisfelt.Thentipthesnow
