Your dryer provides sensor drying and time drying programs.
Sensor Dry
The dryer senses the dampness ofthe laundry and automatically determines the heat level and operation
time. You might see a sudden increase or decrease in operation time ifthe sensor determines more or less
drying is required.This is not a malfunction.
Time Dry
Use TIME DRY to select heatlevel and drying time manually.This can be used if clothes are notas dry as
you likethem at the end of the cycle. Use TIME DRY for heavy and bulky items and thick work.

[GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS]
A. For agrounded, cord-connected appliance:
This appliance must be grounded. Inthe event of malfunctionor breakdown, grounding will reducethe risk of
electricshock by providinga pathof least resistancefor electric current.
This appliance must be equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug.
The plug must be plugged intoan appropriateoutlet that isproperly installed and grounded in accordancewith all
localcodes and ordinances.
Do not modifythe plug providedwith the appliance. If itwill notfit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a
qualified electrician.
B. For apermanentlyconnected appliance:
This appliance must be connected to a grounded metal, permanentwiring system; or an equipment-grounding
conductor must be run with the circuit conductors and connected to the equipment-grounding terminal or lead on

Choose a location with a solidfloor for yourdryer.
Placethe dryer in the desired location and make sure that it hasthe required clearances shownbelow.

Those required minimum clearances are set forth in the picture below. Pleasekeep thefollowing instructionsin

• Consider allowingadditional clearance for installation and servicing.
• Wall, door and floor molding may necessitate additionalclearances.
•Additional inchesof clearance are recommended to reducenoisewhile operating.
• Consider the space needed for companion appliances.

Once in position, adjustthe leveling legsof the dryer until itis levelfrom left to rightand front to back.
The levelinglegs must remainfirmly on the floor and the dryer should not rock.The maximum slopeof the dryer
from left to rightor front to back should not exceed 2.5 cm (1 inch).Ifthe dryer isnot level, andif the slope exceeds
2.5 cm (1 inch), a load may nottumble properlyand internalsensors may malfunction.

Clean old ducts before installing this dryer
•The male end of each sectionof exhaustduct must pointaway from the dryer.
• Use as few elbowjoints aspossible.
• Use duct tapeon all duct joints.

walls.

It isimportant that you thoroughly reviewthat section and the remainderof this manual, beforetaking anysteps to
installor usethis dryer.
1.Use only a new UL listed No. 10 (copperwire only) threeor four conductor powersupply cordkit rated240 Volts
(minimum) 30 Amperes and labeled as suitable for use in a clothesdryer.
2. A four-wire cord isrequired for manufactured (mobile)home installations and where local codes do notallow
grounding of this appliancethrough neutral.
3.Electrical Plug Connections.

Prior tothe first use ofthis appliance, use all purpose cleaningproducts or a solution ofdetergent andwater,with
damp cloth to remove from the insideof thedryer drum/drying compartment any dust or dirt that may have
accumulated insidethe dryer.
Plug-in yourdryer after reviewingthe following partson your dryer's ElectricalRequirements.
Confirming Heat Source in Electric Dryers
Close the door to the dryerdrum/drying compartment and, after completing all steps inthis manualfor proper
installationofthis dryer, startthe dryer on a heatsetting.
The exhaust air or the exhaust pipe should be warm afterthe dryer hasbeen operating for three minutes.
Effectivedryeroperationrequiresappropriatedryerairflow.
The adequacyoftheairflowcanbe measuredbyevaluatingthestatic
pressure.
Staticpressurein theexhaustductcanbe measuredwith a manometer,
placedon theexhaustductapproximately
1ft. (30.5cm)fromthefinaloutlet.
Staticpressurein theexhaustductshouldnotexceed7.6mmwater
column.
Thedryershouldbe checkedwhilethedryerisrunningwithno load.
The door on your dryer can be installed to open either to the leftor the right. Follow these instructionsto reversethe
direction in which your door opens:
Note : Door and latch should bealigned at the centerwhen closed.

The following instructions are applicableto installationsof thedryer ina manufactured or mobilehome.
Any installationin a manufactured or mobile home must complywith the Manufactured Home Constructionand
SafetyStandards and local codes and ordinances.
Ifyou are uncertainwhether your proposed installationwill complywith these standards, please contact a service
and installationprofessionalfor assistance.
The following instructionsapply to any installationof the dryer in amanufactured or mobile home:
1)The electricalconnectionfor an electricdryer must be a 4-wireconnection. Moredetailed informationconcerning
the electricalconnection isprovided at the manualsection entitled ElectricalRequirementsfor ElectricDryer
2) To reducethe risk of combustion and fire, the dryer mustbe vented to the outside.
3) Electricdryers may be vented to the outside using the back, left,right,or bottom panel.
4) The dryer exhaustduct must be affixedsecurely to the manufactured or mobilehome structure,the exhaust duct
must be made of a material that will resistfire and combustion, and it isrecommended that you usea rigid or
flexible metal pipe.
5) DO NOT connectthe exhaust duct with anyother exhaust duct,vent, or chimney.
6) Make sure the dryer has adequateaccess to outsidefresh air to ensure proper operation.
The opening for outsidefresh air must be atleast 25 in2(163 cm2).
7) It is importantthat the clearance of the duct from any combustible constructionbe atleast 2 inches (5 cm),and,
when venting the dryerto the outdoors, thedryer can be installedwith a clearance of 1 inchat the sides and back
of thedryer.
8) Please be aware that venting materialsare not suppliedwith the dryer.
You should obtainthe venting materialsnecessary for proper installation.

1) Remove pedestal, installation hardware, and instructions are in the shipping carton.

To help prevent fire, electricshock, serious injuryor death, the wiring andgrounding mustconform to the latest
editionof the National Electrical Code,ANSI/NFPA 70 and all applicable localregulations.
Please contact a qualified electricianto check your home's wiring and fuses to ensurethat your home has
adequate electricalpower to operatethe dryer.
240V, 60 Hertz, 3-Wire Installation
Instructions for Grounding of your Electric Dryer:
a) This dryer must be connectedto a grounded metal, permanent wiring system or an equipment-grounding
conductor must be run with the circuit conductors and connected to the equipment-grounding terminal or
lead on the dryer.
b)The dryer hasits own terminal block that must be connected to a separate 60 Hertz singlephase AC
circuit,fused at30 Amperes
(the circuitmust be fused on bothsides of theline).
ELECTRICAL SERVICE FOR THE DRYER SHOULD BE OF MAXIMUM RATE VOLTAGE LISTED ON
THE NAMEPLATE.
DO NOT CONNECT DRYER TO 110,115, OR 120 VOLT CIRCUIT.
c) If branchcircuitto dryer isfifteen feet (4.50 m) or less in length, use U.L. (Underwriters Laboratories) listed
No. 10A.W.G. wire (copperwire only), or asrequiredby localcodes.
Ifover fifteen feet (4.50m), use U.L (Underwriters Laboratories)listed No. 8 A.W.G. wire (copperwire
only), or as required by local codes.
Allow sufficientslack inwiring so dryer can be moved from its normal locationwhen necessary.
d) The power cord (pigtail)connectionbetween wall receptacleand dryer terminal block IS NOT suppliedwith
dryer.
Type of pigtailand gauge of wire must conformto local codes and with instructionsmentioned on the
following pages.
e) The method ofwiring the dryer is optionaland subject to local code requirements. Refer to exampleson
next page.
f) You must select the method by which to wire your dryer according to localcode and ordinance
requirements.

lengthin order for dryer to be replaced. First, peel 5 inches (12.7
cm) of covering materialfrom end. Strip 5 inches of ground wire
insulation.After cutting 11/2inch (3.8 cm) from 3 other wires peel
insulationback 1 inch (2.5 cm).Make ends of 3wires a hookshape.

right)and pinch the hook together and screw tightly.

Exhaust Requirements and Instructions:
1.Venting materials are not providedwith the dryer and you should obtain the necessary venting materials.
For example,the outer end of exhaust pipe must have a weather hood with hinged dampers to preventback-
draftwhen thedryer isnot in use.
2. The exhaust duct must be four inches (10.2 cm)in diameter with no obstructions. The exhaust duct should be
kept as short as possible. Make sure to clean anyold ducts beforeinstalling your new dryer.
3.Rigid or semi-rigid metal ducting isrecommended for useas transitionducting between the dryer and and the
wall. Inspecial installationswhen it is impossibleto make a connection withthe above recommendations,then a
UL-listedflexible metal transition duct may be used between the dryer and wall connection only.
The useof this ducting will affect dry time.
4. DO NOT use sheet metal screws on exhaust pipejoints or otherfastening means which extend into theduct that
could catchlint and reduce the efficiencyof the exhaustsystem. Secure alljoints with duct tape.
5.To maximize operating results,please observe the duct lengthlimitationsnoted inthe chartabove.
