The Crown PSL-2 is a professional stereo preamplifier,
bringing all system components together in a single ver-
satilecontrolunit.“Straight-Line”signalpathengineering
results in very low distortion.
SONIC PERFORMANCE
Signal-to-Noise:
(A-weighted) 103 dB below rated output for all inputs ex-
cept Phono. 93 dB below rated 10 mV phono input.
Total Harmonic Distortion (THD):
Less than 0.009% from 20 Hz to 20 kHz at rated output.
Less than 0.0009% at 1 kHz with IHF load. Phono: Less
than 0.009% from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.
Intermodulation Distortion (IMD):
(60Hzand7kHz4:1) Less than0.0025%at rated output.
Phono: Less than 0.0025% at rated output.
Phono Gain:
Adjustable 30 to 50 dB (33 to 330 mV for rated output).
Low Filter:
18 dB per octave slope, down 32 dB at 10 Hz.
Loudness Compensation:
Bass compensation matched to ISO curves (Robinson-
Dadson) down to 60 phons; tracked to Level (gain) con-
trol with active network to eliminate unwanted subsonic
boost.
Muting:
Sevensecond turn-on delay during whichtheoutputs are
shorted to prevent turn-on transients from reaching the
speakers.
Input Impedance:
Tape,Tuner, CD andAux 25 kohms; phono 47 kohms in
parallel with less than 50pF.
Input Sensitivity:
250mV applied toTape,Tuner, CD orAux input yields full
rated output at full gain of 20 dB.
Output Impedence:
600 ohms.
Output Level:
Main and phono outputs: 2.5 volts
